Cory's POV
The phone rang.
"Hello?" Cory answered.
"Tell me what you know about the girl." The voice made Cory freeze. It was a deep, drawling voice that crawled like a monster clawing its way out of a mud pit.
"Alpha?" Cory asked.
"Answer the question," the alpha commanded.
"She's the one we were looking for. She was it all along. Alpha, you won't believe it. They were right. My parents were right the whole time," his voice came out excited, nearly frantic.
"How are your parents?" the alpha asked, taunting.
Cory turned his head to look at the flies swarming the two corpses laying next to him. He swallowed hard.
"Dealt with," Cory answered.
