Lucy couldn't stop smiling as she cuts the cake

"Allow me" Mark requested holding the knife 🔪

Lucy smiled and let go of the knife

Mark collected it as he started cutting the cake to the reach of everyone in the class which he has calculated earlier

James didn't know if he should smile or frown because he was confused but still yet, wasn't discouraged

The cake was shared by Rita who chose to

Mark was just watching her humility

He couldn't believe that a girl would do that when others was jealous

Even Mikhail was surprised

"Actually" Lucy said drawing their attention after everyone has gotten one cake each

"I want to use this opportunity to invite all of you to my birthday party at our school normal hosting hall by 5pm at dot" Lucy announced smiling

Mark was just wondering why she chose that instead of her house

Later after the little gathering, Mark and Mikhail was in their normal hall

As usual, discussing

"It will be great" Mikhail said trying to start up a conversation since they were done with what they were discussing

"yes, at the same time dangerous" Mark replied as he started thinking

"I wonder why she decided to choose the hall" Mikhail said, of course he knows that Mark must have known the reason

"me too, but I asked her and she said that Becky suggested that and they have arranged a lot of things already" Mark replied

"and she didn't seek for your idea?" Mikhail asked not believing it

"she said that she wanted to make it a surprise" Mark replied

"I think everything isn't alright" Mikhail said

"I thought as much" Mark replied scratching his head

"sorry but I can't come because my parents won't permit me" Mikhail said as his face changed

"I already know, even me but I have find a way and also come back on time" Mark responded

"less I forget, did you see what Rita did?" Mikhail changed the topic immediately

"don't even go there, let's not talk about that one now"

The hall was decorated with Pink which was Lucy's favorite color

Big speakers were placed in every angle of the hall as hot music was popping out of them as those present was dancing

Many students were present except the celebrant and some of senior students

Few minutes later, James arrived with his car

He was the one driving

He dressed on pink and Lucy's picture was on it

and it was written "Happy Birthday my heart"

He got down from the car smiling as he looked around

The next person to arrive was Mark with his own car

He was wearing blue which was what he collected from James the other day thinking that it was what James was planning on wearing during the birthday

maybe to be in uniform with Lucy

James saw him from the window and smiled

"as expected" James said to himself

he intentionally came with it that very day

it was only designed well and was written "Happy Birthday"

Mark adjusted his top

it really fitted him

Immediately he came inside, James walked up to him smiling

"and you really came" James said smiling

Mark didn't return the smile because he was busy calculating everywhere

"we will see how today's game will be like and how it will go" James added smiling as he walked away but Mark cared less

Few minutes time, Lucy arrived with her car

Her driver parked next to Mark's car

Lucy got down

she was dressed on her pink gown

there was something that looks like it was covering something on the chest of her gown

James saw her from far as she walked in

Lucy sighted where Mark was as she walked up to him

"Happy birthday" Mark said immediately Lucy got closer to him

"thanks" Lucy replied smiling

just then, Mark's phone started ringing

Mark checked and it was his father

"hey, where the hell are you?" Mr Jones asked just as Mark picked up

"friend's birthday" Mark replied

"I want to see you here in the next 30 mins" Mr Jones said trying to fake an angry voice

"sure Sir" Mark responded saluting him as Mr Jones dropped the call

"you get to start because I will be leaving very soon" Mark said as he dropped his phone

Just then, James walked into their mist

that was when Mark understood everything

Their color and also Lucy's face that was on James cloth

Lucy didn't see that

Mark stylishly looked at Lucy's top but what he was seeing was something else

He waved it off

"you all are welcome to this big celebration" the MC said as everyone attention diverted to the stage

"it's one of the biggest birthday I have ever attended, please let the celebrant come forward" the MC added

Lucy walked up to the stage as she stood before the cake facing everyone

"before any other things, our able James said he has something for the celebrant" the MC said as the whole light went off

As everyone shouted

Mark's eyes went straight to Lucy not knowing what James was up to

Mark was about to rush to the stage should in case even with his gift

just as he was halfway, the light was brought back making him to stop looking around

Group of people lined up before the stage with guitar 🎸 each

They started playing the guitar

James walked out from nowhere with microphone 🎤 and started singing what he learnt

Lucy was just surprised

Mark couldn't believe it as he turned to look at Lucy

she was short of words

Mark was brought back to life by the sound of the clap that filled up the hall

That was all one could hear in the hall

"it's time to cut the cake" the MC said

Mark's phone started ringing again

it was nobody else but Mr Jones

"am on my way!" Mark shouted as he picked up

Lucy signalled Mark to come up smiling

Mark smiled back

he walked up and stood at the right hand side of Lucy

"he called again?" Lucy asked whispering

"yes, am sorry I can't stay like I supposed" Mark whispered back making Lucy to smile

"I understand" Lucy said smiling

"sorry it's time" James interrupted them

Lucy placed her hand on the knife, Mark followed while James covered it

Mark just smiled inwardly as they cuts the cake

"Happy birthday sweetheart" Mark whispered smiling as he pecked her

of course the camera captured it

Mark's phone started ringing again

he picked it up

"my last warning" Mr Jones said and hung up

Lucy nodded at Mark meaning he can go

Mark smiled and stretched out his gift

Lucy collected it smiling

"please go on time, it's really necessary" Mark whispered

"trust me" Lucy smiled

Mark nodded and walked down from the stage

he was almost at the door post when Becky shouted

"Last surprise!!!!"

of course Mark turned to see as Becky tore out the thing that was used to cover something on Lucy's dress

the upper chamber

as James face was seen on her chest

Mark wasn't that surprise because he thought as much but was surprised where and how Becky just came out all of a sudden

Mark's phone rang again

he didn't bother to check as he rushed outside waving what he saw off

He checked his phone when he was already in his car and it was Mikhail

"have the party ended?" that was what Mikhail asked immediately Mark picked up

"they just started but am going" Mark replied not in the mood for his former nature

"I felt something bad will happen" Mikhail said

"I have no other option, my Dad is very worried" Mark replied as he started the car and drove off

Back In The Hall

The party began

"cheers" Becky said as Lucy brought her cup closer

they jammed up their cup as they gulped from it

James came behind Lucy as he bent, making Lucy to turn

giving Becky opportunity

Becky stylishly dropped a drug inside Lucy's drink and Lucy wasn't aware since she was busy listening to James

Lucy turned and took his drink

Few minutes later, the drug started having effect on Lucy as she began to behave as if she was drunk

Phillip saw that and smiled

he tapped James who nodded saying that he saw that

"it's the opportunity for you to have your way on her" Phillip said while James smiled standing up

"as planned" James added and walked up to where Lucy was but she was no longer there

neither do Becky

his phone vibrated

it was a message from Becky saying that they were outside that it was the right time

Lucy was leaning on James car since she couldn't find her driver

"I need to go now" Lucy managed to say

James came out

"I need to take her home" James said trying to behave normal for Lucy not to suspect him even in her condition

he knew that she had to agree first

If not, people who were around might interfere

"let's go" Becky said as she held Lucy well leading her to the door

James opened the door and Becky managed to put Lucy inside

James hasn't gotten inside the car when Lucy dose off

"don't mess this opportunity, and don't forget to take pictures" Becky said smiling

"trust me" James replied smiling back

Becky did a thumbs up

James entered and drove off
