Monster encounters were an expected part of outdoor drills, however, so the students remained calm and composed.

"No one panicked! They're goblins, and there aren't many of them. Once the four of you in the front guard raise your physical abilities with your artifacts, we'll charge forward and crush the enemy."

At Alphonse's order, the four boys in the front started to chant at once.

"Augendae Corporis!"

The bracelet underneath their uniforms started to glow as the sorcery to enchant their physical abilities were activated. The bracelets were a magical artifact that acted as a starting point for the geometric spell formulae to appear and wrap themselves around the students.

Artifacts were activated by chanting the spell name in a similar way to magic, but unlike the human body and the amulets created by me and Celia, which could store multiple formulae for magic, artifacts were typically restricted to a single formula.

This allowed incompatible people who failed to form a formula to contract the ability to use the artifact (in other words, failed to imprint the formula in their body), but the sorcery could only activate the way the bracelet was set to.

The four boys took off and closed in on the group of goblins — monsters that took on the shape of small, hideous people. In no time at all, they had been defeated.

Goblins were among the weakest monsters that existed; though all the students were only around twelve years old, the legitimate combat training we received at the Academy, coupled with their ability to strengthen artifacts, meant the goblins stood no chance. As the bodies of the goblins vanished, an enchanted gem the size of a pebble was left behind.

"Well, that was nothing. It'd take a more formidable monster to stand a chance against us," Stewart said proudly. The easy victory seemed to have lifted his mood.

"As expected, you can always rely on Stewart. Unlike the useless thing over the..." Alphonse praised Stewart pleasantly before turning his gaze to me and freezing in this place as they saw me throwing a small dagger toward his face.

"Ahh!" Every single student except Roanna shouted in shock, on seeing me throwing a dagger toward Alphonse. All girls except Roanna closed their eyes, afraid of what is going to happen next. While all the boys just froze in their places with an expression of horror on their faces.

As for Alphonse, he let out a girly scream, and he stopped breathing for a second as my thrown dagger passed his cheek while drawing some blood and then got embedded in the head of the goblin that was going to sneak attack him.

The goblin let out a hideous screen, making all the girls look in its direction and froze in their places, on seeing my thrown dagger embedded in its head they understood the reason behind my action. With a last miserable cry, it died and with a puff its body turned into a smock, leaving only a pebble size enchanted gem behind.

"Commander Alphonse, next time before starting celebrating your victory, first check your surrounding for any hidden enemy, otherwise you will die without being aware of who attacked you," I said then stare deeper into the forest as I feel an eerie and dark presence in it, then I focus my Observation Haki in that direction as I stop paying absolutely no attention to Alphonse's or anyone else except Roanna.

Then as I focused my Sixth senses, like an hypothetical invisible spherical dome of energy started to expand outwards, with me being its center, and didn't stop until it reached a radius of 2 Km, which is my current limit for using Advance Observation Haki.

Inside this hypothetical invisible spherical dome of Energy/ Sixth sense, I can sense every single detail, no matter how small it is in scale. And in my sensory range, deep within the forest where I had been staring a second ago, I sensed a lone man hiding amongst the plant life. Which I identified as Reiss.

Through my Observation Haki, I find out that he wore a black robe that covered his entire body as he moved as silently as the dead.

Next, I sensed him whispering in awe, "Oh my, that was close. To think he would notice me at this distance... What a child,". Knowing this, I concluded; He must have wanted to draw a little closer than this, but deemed it too risky to do so on releasing that I sensed his presence.

Then I again sense him muttering, "He might actually be the one who defeated my subordinate five years ago. The secret agent I sent to the House of Duke Huguenot has been working well, so I suppose I could use this chance to test his true strength..."

Saying this. He went out of my Observation range which is 2 Km for now. So, I also retracted my senses in time, as I saw every girl on our team looking at me in awe while Roanna felt proud, as she puffed out her chest. And I am sure what is going inside the head of this girl, 'See, he is the man of my choice.'.

After that encounter with the monster, our march progressed smoothly. The only monsters we came across next were goblins, which posed no real threat; male students vied to show off in front of Christina and the other girls and would compete with each other over who could defeat the goblins. But the female students didn't even look at them as they were still in awe at my previous actions of killing the sneaky goblin.

The information Stewart had procured turned out to be accurate, making our early afternoon arrival seem more and more realistic to most of the students with each passing moment, except me and Roanna, who were still on our guard against any hidden attack.

Unbeknownst to these poor kids, however, the seams of their successful afternoon were just waiting to come undone.
