(Part 2)

"...let us have a good match today, then," Charles said in a frosty voice. He made no move to shake hands.

"Yes, let's. I will fight you with everything I have." I said. As I wasn't very interested in it.

Prompted by the referee standing between us, I and Charles drew the swords hanging by our waists. Charles had a one-handed sword with a shield, while I simply wielded a longsword.

As Charles was already angry enough, he didn't even try to comment on the type of sword I am using unlike in the Light novel.

"The rules are exactly as they were explained to you before. Magic is forbidden — make sure to only fight with your swordcraft abilities." The referee repeated the rules for this match.

"I understand." "Understood." Both of us said at the same time.

Once I and Charles had both nodded in agreement, the referee raised his right hand high into the air. "Both sides, take your places."

I and Charles backed up until the two of us were about 30 feet apart from each other, then readied our swords.

"Ready... begin!" The referee gave the signal and lowered his hand.

"Haaah!" Charles immediately took off charging towards me. While I kept standing in my place in a defensive position.

Charles quickly covered up the distance between us and brandished his wood sword to directly attack my face, and I simply evaded it by tilting my face a little.

Next, I use the blade of my sword to deflect his sword, it deforms his stance. Then without wasting any time, I used the lower part of the sword's handle to knock the wooden shield out of his hand making him defenseless and open to my attacks.

Just as Charles and others were in awe of what just happened, I swung my sword and delivered a swing into his stomach. Due to the force, his whole body made a Vertical 'C' as he slipt out a mouthful of saliva.

Seeing this, the whole arena became silent as Charles fell to his knees tightly holding his stomach. Without waiting for anything, I place my sword at the exposed back part of his neck. Then I looked at the referee with my indifferent expressions which only he could see, urging him to announce my victory which he quickly did.

"T-The victor is the Academy representative, Rio!" The referee announced in a high-pitched voice and the next second the whole arena went into an uproar on seeing the unexpected happening.

"Thank you. Sir Charles for letting me win. As I know you just went easy on me for my sake." I said in a loud enough voice to reach the spectators who were seated near the boundary of the Arena.

Then after advising the referee to check on Charles I left the arena, but not before giving a respective bow towards the area stands where Roanna was seated with her family. Seeing my polite gesture, Roanna's parents and our Swordcraft instructor nodded in my direction with smiles on their faces.

With this, I left the area and went in the direction of the academy. It only took me 5 minutes as the distance between the arena and Academy isn't much.

Then I went to my usual place in the back of the academy where I and Roanna have been training for the last week. After waiting for 5 minutes, Roanna came and saw me waiting for her. She quickly ran over to me and jumped into my chest with a smile on her face.

"Rio! Rio! Rio! You know the whole family is very happy at your performance back in the arena." Roanna said with a twinkle in her eyes as she kept hugging me, so I also returned the favor and wrapped my arms around her.

"Hahaha. Yes. yes, I heard it." I said after a chuckle. Then I patted her head to calm down her excitement. Then I asked her, "So, what were your parents thinking about us?"

"Yes! They agreed!" Roanna exclaimed. Then in a serious voice, she said, "And my parents and uncle have told me to warn you, as you have just defeated Charles in front of many people that belong to different noble families. According to the father, they will surely try to pull you to their side through various means. Father has even assumed that they might even use their daughters who are currently studying with us to win over you through a marriage proposal." She said with uneasiness in her eyes.

Understanding what she was thinking, I kissed her forehead, which made her blush. Then I pinched her small nose at which she pouted, so I tightened my hold around her waist. Then I said while looking into her eyes, "Roanna, my love. What are you afraid of? Do you think I will fall for that?" I asked in a questioning voice.

Roanna quickly shook her head in denial and said, "No. I don't mean that. I mean, I know you wouldn't. It was just advice from my father."

I smile at her flustered expression, then while patting her head with one head. "Don't worry, I know. I was just teasing you.", I said with a teasing expression that made her puff her cheeks which I poked with my fingers.

"Okay, now don't be angry. Please inform your father that I really appreciated his advice and will keep it close to my heart." I said with a smile as I continued to pat her head which made her happy.

"Okay, I will inform my father," Roanna said. "Okay. now on to the more important topic. Roanna, would you be able to take some time for tomorrow's mid-afternoon after our swordcraft practice? I want to introduce you to Celia, one of my future wives as now you are also one of them since all of them have also accepted you as a new addition to their ranks. What do you think?" I asked.

Roanna became happy knowing this and gave me a bone-crushing hug. Now, while enduring the little uncomfortable feeling I think, how does this girl fit all this power in her slender arms.
