CHAPTER 8 Transitory Chapter

On the way to the airport, Ako and I shared our expectations about this unexpected trip.

Her face radiated happiness as she enthusiastically talked about everything she wanted to do and see in Korea.

By the way, she hardly recognized me when I went to pick her up, and she acted coldly towards me until she noticed my demeanor and knew who I was. Needless to say, she was very surprised and asked many questions, but she quickly got over it because, according to her, I will always be myself.

Her mother looked at me with a certain blush, which worried me. One should not underestimate divine beauty and charisma.

"I'm so excited, Darin! It'll be like an adventure for the two of us. Just you and me, exploring a new country," Ako exclaimed with shining eyes.

While I attentively listened to her tales, a part of me engaged in an internal discussion with Clarion about the information I received from Kang.

Dividing my consciousness now is as easy as breathing.

However, I must admit that I didn't gather as much relevant information about Kang, not because he was mysterious or hard to trace, but because he's an ordinary citizen.

The only noteworthy thing I found is that he's a true bookworm. It seems he reads not to increase his knowledge, but simply because he's passionate about reading.

I think it will be easier to snatch his destiny than I initially thought. But... What destiny does someone who's only passionate about reading have?

We reached the airport and boarded the plane. During the flight, Ako kept talking about how excited she was to arrive in Korea. It was charming to hear her speak with so much emotion and enthusiasm.

Once we arrived in Korea, we settled into a luxurious hotel in Seoul. Ako was fascinated with everything, from the architecture to the food. She couldn't stop taking photos and recording videos.

"Ako, I'm going to check on some business I have in Seoul, are you coming with me or staying to rest?"

"Mooh, Darling, it's our honeymoon, you shouldn't be working." It seems she completely forgot the reason I told her to travel.

"Come on, Ako. We'll need money for when we start a family. Plus, the sooner I finish, the sooner we can enjoy our vacation."

"Oh my, Darling, what are you saying?" Ako said with a blush on her face.

"Go to work, but don't take too long. I have a surprise for you when you get back," she said seductively.

I swallowed and now I was even more motivated to finish this task. I gave Ako a long kiss and left to look for Kang.

It wasn't difficult since, according to the information I received, he spends his entire day at the national library. Who spends all their vacation days in the library? Kang, of course.

In the National Library of Korea, one of the largest libraries in the world, in a corner of the library sits a young man with an ordinary appearance, fully engrossed in the book he's reading. It seems that nothing could distract him. However, something did interrupt him.

"Excuse me, young-nim." A library worker interrupted him.

"Y-yes, how can I help you?" the young man nervously responded.

"I apologize for disturbing your reading, but the library manager would like to talk to you. Don't worry, he specified that it's not about anything bad."

"With me?"

"Yes, you're Kang Soo-hyuk, right?"

"That's me, but, why do they call me?" he said nervously.

"In that case, follow me this way. Don't worry, there's no issue with you. He only wants to talk to you," the worker mentioned.

The young man followed the worker, not knowing that the decisions he would make afterward would completely change his destiny. That's not entirely bad – if Kang is someone who simply enjoys spending his days reading, that decision will save him from a fate filled with troubles and grant him a peaceful life.

If he's someone seeking greatness, well... poor him.
