Zenith, Capital of the Kingdom of Asphodel
۞۞۞۞۞
Queen Celeste Asphodel was dining with her husband, King Solis Asphodel, when it all happened. When her it the Moon Goddess called to her again. Her silver-ish grey eyes turning crimson red as the vision took over her sight, the divine magic calling to her again.
The King got on his feet and ran to his pregnant wife, worry all over his features as the love of his life froze and he noticed the signs, realizing what was happening to her. Since he first met her in their first year in Stardust Academy, he knew she was a seer. Everyone did, since seers were an extremely rare type of fae, and the skies turned blood-red when one was born. But he was also aware of the dangers of such power.
Every time the Sun God, who protected his wife, called to her and showed her glimpses of either the future or the past, Celeste's body would freeze, blood tears would roll down her eyes, and all the energy in her body would be drained. That's why he got scared, since the Deity in question hadn't called to her since before she got pregnant, and her pregnancy was delicates. Not to mention that she was already 7 months pregnant, and such a power would be dangerous for and their babies.
Twins. They didn't know the gender, but they didn't care either. Be it a girl and a boy, two girls, or two boys. Both the King and Queen were immensely glad to be blessed with such special presents, since if getting pregnant was hard, having twins was considered rare.
As he held her in his arms, he took out his handkerchief and softly wiped the blood tears that began to roll down her olive skin, making his heart ache. Solis always hated the price she had to pay for being born a seer instead of any other type of Fae, because his heart ached to see her like this. Even more now.
"I'm here, my love. I'm with you." Solis whispered, as he always did when that happened, so she wouldn't be lost in a vision. That too, was something he had to worry about.
He was never going to be able to forget how he almost lost her to her own power when they were 22, back in the Academy, when she had a vision of the bloody war between their ancestors. Just thinking about that dreadful night made his heart ache and his a shiver spread down his spine.
"I'm here, my love. I am here. I won't go anywhere. I'll hold onto you and bring you back to me. So, don't go too far, Cece," he brushed a soft kiss in her forehead, and got extra worried as he noticed the sweat prickling on her soft skin. Let out a raspy breath, he passed the clean side of his handkerchief on her forehead, biting his bottom lip.
Ignoring his unruly wavy ebony hair falling on his face and the burning in his molten gold eyes, he bend down to hold his mate in his arms, praying the Sun God for the damned vision to end.
Twenty agonizingly excruciating minutes went by, and he was only able to breath again when his wife's pupils went back to that silver-ish shade he loved so much. "I'm here," he whispered again, to assure her. But as she broke out crying, he felt despair dominating his insides as her emotions hit him through their mating bond. "What is it?" His voice was full of a sadness he didn't know where it came from. "What did you see, my love?"
She held him tightly, still crying, "They lied!"
King Solis blinked genuinely confused, "Who?"
"They won't accept our peace treaty," she cried. "They… It's… No… We can't… We can't let that happen!" Her tears rolled down more furiously, and he felt her pain reaping him from inside out.
"Please, my love. Calm down. Breathe and tell me."
She tried to get up, but her body shook weakly and he held her in his arms softly again, feeling desperate and helpless. Not knowing what he could do to help. But she tried to get up again, blinded by what she saw in the vision.
"Please, Cece, my love. Tell me what is it!"
But that made her cry harder, "We won't… we won't be able to… to be with them…" her skin turning red as her feelings made her blood furious inside of her. "Sol… we…" She let out a cry of pain, and when they both looked down, water was rolling down her legs, the water.
Solis got up and covered his wife ears, as her hearing was more sensible than normal now that she was pregnant. "Physicians! Fuck! Bring the damn physician right now. Bring all of them," he yelled the orders at the top of his lungs and the guards on door ran out to go get the doctors with healing magic and the skills to take care of his beloved at such a moment.
"Our babies… our…" She got back to crying, and he uncovered her ears, proceeding to catch her in his arms with all the delicacy in the world, and used his enhanced speed to go to their chambers. "Stay with me… Don't leave me…"
"I would never do such a thing, my love. Not even if you begged me. I'll be with you the entire time. Sharing your pain with me so it won't hurt you as much as they said it might," he kissed her lips softly, despite all the desperation in his hear. "It's too soon for them to be arriving, so it'll be delicate, but everything will be fine. They were going to be from Leo, but Gemini is amazing too," he gave her an encouraging smile. "Both my mom and my father were Gemini, they will be amazing. Do you think they will-"
Celeste let out a scream of pain, because of the contractions and Solis flinched as the pain hit him through their bond. "I… I'm not ready…" she cried.
"My love, the Gods have their own agenda. If they decided that our babies will be better coming now, than I'm sure you are ready. Trust in yourself. You are the strongest person I've ever met, the only one who rivals myself. There's no one more ready and prepared than you, sweetheart," he did his best to console her, as he tried to hid how painful it was being for him as well. Then he covered her ears again and threw his rage at the useless people outside their chambers, "If you don't bring the fucking physician in here, in a minute, I swear, I will," Solis yelled, but he stopped as the doors burst out open.
"Your majesties, I came as fast as I could," Patricia Dallaire, the physician with healing, earth, and empathy magic came inside. She had been the fae who's been overlooking the Queen from the moment they first learned about the pregnancy, up until now.
"Fucking hell, finally," he cried exasperated. "She had a sudden vision and the aftereffect caused her water to break," he told her as she strode forward, worry taking over her features. "Nothing bad will happen, right?"
"No, your majesty. The water breaking at the 7th month isn't the advisable, but it happens quite often. The Gods decided that it's time, and we can only do our best and pray that everything will work well," Patricia began to cover the room with a magical barrier made of healing and empathy magic trying to call us both down.
"Girls… it's two girls…" the Queen whispered, as silent tears still rolled down her eyes and the King turned to her with his golden eyes glowing with the purest happiness she had only seen before when they mated, got married, and when they learned about the pregnancy.
"We'll be having 2 Princesses?" Happy tears prickled at the sides of his eyes as he glanced at his wife. "You saw it?" A nod. "Then you can chose the names, I'll be already be giving them my surnames, so it's only fair that you give them their names, my love."
He felt pain through their bond, but she nodded, "What about Asteria and Zephyra?" He thought about it starting with the first and the last letter of the alphabet, and that made him satisfied.
"I could never think of better ones, my love. Asteria and Zephyra Asphodel. They will be the most loved, pampered, beautiful, smart, and powerful girls in the entire Astra continent," the King exclaimed, passing his happiness through their bond, to sooth the pain she was feeling, but it didn't work.
