This happened especially when the female was marked but not yet mated. So it was nature's way of pushing them to breed together.
"Have you been smelling them?" Realising how awkward the question sounded Adaline rephrased her words, "the hormones that I have been releasing, do you always smell them?"
Xavier barked out a laugh making her flinch. " Smell them? Why the fuck do you think I have not let no male near you accept your uncle?"

He must have seen her confused expression because Xavier scoffed and added,
