Chapter 14: A Suffering Man's Wish

As I opened my eyes under water, I heard a cage opening and my eyes widened at the sight. Jellyfish are now surrounding me. That girl...so she set up this cage earlier and now she set those free.

I looked left and right and tried my best to avoid each jellyfish I see. I went back up to breath some air into my lungs and continued my search, ignoring Hyuna's yells.

The seafloor is covered with beautiful corals. It's a pity that I can't enjoy this beautiful view because of that tricky girl.

I continued swimming under the water then I noticed something sparkle near the cage where the jellyfish came from. I went up to get some air then I continued searching towards the sparkly thingy I saw earlier. As I get a closer look, my guess was right that it is my keys. The only problem is, there are more jellyfish near the keys.

I might or might not die. I don't even know what type of jellyfish is this. Should I still continue? I'm running out of time.

Without any hesitation, I swam towards the keys despite the swarm of jellyfish on the way. I felt them stinging my skin. I can feel the immediate pain and a red, irritated marks can be seen on my beautiful skin.

It took all of my strength to snatch the keys from a coral and swam back to the shore, despite all the pain I felt throughout my body. I examined my body which is now full of red marks. I'm starting to feel numb but I continued walking.

I reached the back of the car and quickly opened the trunk. I took the bow and arrow and went to the arena's direction, where Hyuna was standing. She just watched me in disbelief.

"You're crazy." I heard Hyuna said.

"Shouldn't I be telling you that? I guess you're a sadistic woman. If you want to kill, I advice that you just shoot them in the head. And if I were you, I wouldn't let me live because karma is a bitch, more bitch than you." I stated weakly as I run back to the arena.

I heard another gunshot. I don't know how long I have been under the water but I still have to continue. I might still make it, she needs me. Alexa needs me.

I continued running despite the pain. I stumbled more than once but I kept standing up again and again. I can endure anything for her. I don't want to break her trust.

I don't care if this might break my body. I don't care if I might die. I can't afford to lose, not now or ever. If we lose this fight, Naomi will lose her position, Alexa's parents might get disappointed and move her away from here. I can't lose her again...

I felt water droplets falling on my face. It's raining. The once clear sky is now clouded. And I reached the entrance of the arena, panting hard.

I noticed that no one was shooting. Are they done already? Then my gaze went to the scoreboard. Alexa is losing but it's not yet finished, why did they stop then?

My sight starts to get blurry as I walk towards the direction of a figure of a tall woman with long hair. This figure... I'm sure it's my lady.

"Yo, my lady. Did I make you wait?" I asked, forcing a weak smile. We are only some meters away from each other.

"What the hell happened to you?!" I heard her ask as she runs towards me. This made me smile despite the pain I am feeling that it made me numb.

"Just got into trouble with the girl and her dirty tricks." I answered, my voice was weak and I feel my body slowly giving up. She quickly hugged me tightly and supported me from falling.

"I don't mind all these pain if it means you will come running towards me like that. Also, I did what you told me, so you should win. Alright?" I stated, my voice cracking as I hug her weakly.

We hugged each other under the rain, not giving a care about everyone around us. "Win for me, will you?" It sounded like I'm begging but whatever. I can lower my pride for the lady of my life.

"Are you crazy? Your whole body is red and you only care about winning, you're really insane!" She said, but I felt some tears on my shoulder from her face.

"Hush, don't cry for me, my lady. I'm way too good for you to cry. Also, I can be insane for you. I can be anything for you and I will endure anything for you. Just please... do anything for you to stay with me. Don't leave me again, the only lady of my life," I stated as my consciousness starts to leave me.

"Elijah! Elijah, stay with me!" I heard Alexa's voice. Her voice was full of sadness and pain. My lady, please don't be in pain. I only want to see you happy. I just want to hear you scolding me every time. I just want to see that straight face of yours and that lips that curves into a smirk or a smile.

I reached her cheeks and caressed it. "You need to win, okay?" I said before my consciousness was taken away from me.

The light greeted me as I open my eyes. I scanned the room I am in. Where am I? That's when I noticed someone sleeping beside my bed. She was sitting on a chair while her head is rested on the edge of my bed.

Her long beautiful hair covers her perfect face. I reached out to her and brushed her hair away from her face. She slowly opened her eyes, her beautiful red eyes meeting mine. Oops, I woke up the sleeping beauty.

"Morning, sleeping beauty," I said, smiling weakly.

"You're awake." She stated as if that's the most normal thing in the world.

"Aren't you worried?" I asked in disbelief.

"Me? Worried? Why would I?" She asked but her eyes is saying the opposite. Her beautiful red eyes is now tearing up. It's screaming sadness, longing, worry, and happiness.

"I'm still alive, my lady. I kept my promise." We made a promise before, that no one of us will die, sacrificing oneself for the other. If we have to die, we would die together.

"I also kept my promise. We won, Elijah. We won," she said, finally letting some tears escape her red eyes. I only smiled at her and she did the same. I am in love with this dangerous, tsundere girl.
