John smirked. He wasn't counting on the best possible outcome, but it had happened.
"Great, what do we have to do?" John asked Echo, and Dalia's eyebrows shot up.
"Oh sorry, I'm talking to Echo," he said.
"Oh, is it about the base?" Dalia asked.
John nodded. "Yes, but it's a bit complicated. Let's go outside."
The two of them left the room, and Dalia's eyes immediately locked onto the spacious hallways, and she let out a soft gasp.
"What's happened?"
"You didn't notice this last night? I upgraded it."
She shook her head, "I did notice, but I thought I was just dreaming."
"It's not a dream. This is real," John said, gesturing around the new hallway.
"Wow," Dalia murmured, running her fingers along the smooth wooden panels that lined the walls.
"Anyway, you go eat something. I have to take care of something," John said as he rushed outside.
