chapter 3

Her parents stayed till the end of the following week. They taught me a lot of about Korea and their family. Their dad mostly talked about his one year service and how he would have joined the military if he had the opportunity. Then their mom taught me how to say the names and recipes of different foods in Korean, though almost everything went off my head as soon I woke up the next morning.

Her sister Mira, was basically glued to her boyfriend through out their stay so we didn't get to talk much. Either that or she's on her phone. And I seem to remember she said something about work being too hectic and the holidays being the only time she gets to spend with family—especially her boyfriend—and l get it. Because it's really sad to want to see someone—or people— and not be able to.

Right now it's just Myrah and I left in the house again—Mira went on a date— and I can't help looking at the mirror again as the reality of my current situation hits me as I wake up this morning. Like, all of my fears, worries, questions just keep coming out from whatever pit I buried them in throughout the week.

"Hey!" I say as the mirror is taken from her

"I'm sorry, but you might put a hole through it soon with your constant staring" Myra said putting back the mirror "And its the only one I have right now so you really should get used to it, its not changing anytime soon" she said

Sigh..

"I know… it's just too shocking that everything about me changed" she said sadly

"Maybe it's really like you said. Maybe you really died and transmigrated" Myrah said. I thought about what she said for while but it still didn't make sense. So with a huff, I lay with back on the bed.

Usually a person inhabits the body of another as a second chance at life. And from the novels she's read, there's usually a revenge to be carried out for the previous owner of the body, but I still have my memories and so far no new or "familiar" memories have surfaced since I got here—korea—so, I'm just going to wait and see how all this plays out.

Later that evening, I told Myrah and Mira that I'll be going job hunting the next day since we have barely two weeks of vacation left and I need to gather money to pay for tuition and other things. Myrah of course was excited about the idea of going outside and volunteered to help—Mira just wanted to lazy around till the break was over. So early the next morning, we left the house starting with the stores close to us and moving further. We went from store to store, street to Street and still couldn't find a decent store that had a vacancy, it was like we had come out for nothing.

When the heat started to get to us, we stopped for ice cream. It was a typical ice cream stand with an umbrella for shade, though we don't have this at home I've seen a lot of it in the movies. The ice cream really helps cause, my body my mind pretty sure my soul too is calm at this moment. So I taken in my surroundings and notice the road a bit busy for a Thursday afternoon and that the ice cream "boy" might close early today cause of the rush. And as we sat beneath the umbrella—courtesy of our handsome vendor—and I observe my surroundings a little more, that's when I see it. The flyer didn't look old but it definitely wasn't new. it said a lot of things but basically, it was a job offer for different ages at a light making company and the pay looked good even though I didn't understand how thier money works yet.

I put the flyer in my bag hoping to show it to Myrah—after telling her how extremely grateful I am for her help today—when we get home later.

I waited till we had our dinner and everyone was relaxed. Myrah and her sister were in their rooms so went there to show them.

"Hey guys" I started

"Hey!"

"What's up?"

"I'm good, please I need your advice on something. So, I saw this Ad on the ground close to the ice cream truck today and I wanted to know if it is legit" I passed the flyer to Mira since she's the eldest and would have the most experience.

"Wow..this is great! how did you find this?" She asked after reading it.

"I just told you. I saw it on the streets, close to…"

"That's not even the point. Like, how are you going to work here? It looks really competitive" Myrah said thoughtfully

"Yeah.. it's super competitive to get in and this might even be a scam" she says throwing the paper but I didn't let it go far before I caught it.

"Yes, but we still need to try. This is the closest to a job I saw today and can I just add that I love you Myrah? Really, I don't think I would've made this much progress if I went alone today. And thank you too Mira, for let her accompany me"

"O it's nothing really, that's what friends are for" Myrah winked making her sister and I laugh.

"Seriously though, we need to check out this company cause I really don't want to walk under the sun all day tomorrow" Myra said to her sister. Mira sighed in defeat and nodded making Myrah and I scream happily and hug her.

"okay, okay! you guys can let go of me now" she said laughing "But the only condition I'm letting you go is, I'm coming with. Don't want to hear crazy stories later" she added seriously

"yes ma" we chorused, mock saluting

The next day, the three of them set out using Mira's car to drive to the company address.

"Wow! it's a real you're really lucky" Myrah exclaimed and I nodded, happy

"And there are a lot of people here to confirm that too" Mira said, smiling.

Mira seemed to also notice that the people going in were doing it quickly. "What was the date on the flyer again?" She asked

"22nd, tomorrow" I replied a bit worried at her question but she only nodded and told us to enter the car, and we left.
