Terrence still couldn't figure out how does the system work. He had been thinking about it for a few hours since he woke up, but there was no progress.
He was getting frustrated after all the thinking.
"Terrence! Come out now! Lunch is about to be served."
Hearing a loud voice, Terrence sighed. He stood up and went outside to where his family was.
When Terrence woke up earlier, he was glad to know that he was still here. Now, he was assured that what happened earlier was actually true and he was not just getting crazy.
"Mum, Dad," Terrence happily greeted his parents as he saw them.
Tiana smiled widely at Terrence. "You woke up quite early today, Terrence," she pointed out.
"Yeah," Terrence nodded.
Terrence's father, Archer, looked at Terrence with great curiosity. "I heard a loud shout earlier. What happened?"
Terrence scratched the back of his head. "I just got a bad dream. I didn't know it woke you up, Dad," he explained.
"Ohh. It's fine, son. I'm glad it's not anything serious."
Terrence was relieved when he saw that his father was satisfied with how he answered. He didn't ask further questions.
Terrence stared at his parents. He was in glee as he watched them do their own things.
He noticed that her mother's expression was softer. Her hair was longer compared to what he could remember. She looked presentable and neat despite the fact that she had just finished cooking.
On the other hand, his father, Archer, still has a good build despite being in his early 50s. He was wearing a thick eyeglass while reading something on his phone.
He was glad to see that his family looked happy and healthy. It was different before, when they looked gloomy and lifeless.
This was what he missed.
He missed seeing his family do their own things.
Since he got the work from the government, he rarely saw his family. At most, it would be once every week.
"By the way, where's Abigail, Mum?" Terrence asked after he realized that he hadn't seen his sister since he woke up.
"What do you mean, Terrence? Are you sure you're fine?" Tiana looked worried at her son's unexpected question. It was as if he had forgotten about it.
"Huh?" Terrence glanced at Tiana with a confused expression on his face.
Tiana sighed. "Maybe it's because you had a bad dream earlier. Did you forget that your sister is studying at the town's university? She will be back home by 5 p.m."
"..."
'Huh?' His mother's answer made him confused.
His memories can't be wrong.
As what he can remember, Abigail doesn't like studying, so she stopped attending school when she finished high school at the age of 17, which was just a few months ago.
Terrence fell into silence after Tiana answered him. He awkwardly laughed and muttered, "Oh, right…"
After he answered, an awkward silence surrounded them. It wasn't long after before food was served, and they started eating, livening the atmosphere.
Even though Terrence was quiet the whole time they ate lunch, he still enjoyed the taste of the food. After all, it has been so long since he ate good food filled with flavour and nutrition.
At first, he just wanted to eat his lunch faster and return to his room to ask the system what was happening. However, Terrence also missed the feeling of eating with his family, so he made peace with his mind.
He wanted an explanation. However, he said to himself that he'll just ask his question later.
Although Tiana and Archer were weirded out by how Terrence acted, they chose not to ask any more questions.
"Oh right, me and your father will be going out later. There's money in my bag. Go and buy dinner for you and your sister." Tiana looked at Terrence.
"Alright, Mum." Terrence smiled.
Since he returned before the virus was discovered, his parents still have their respective jobs. They weren't dirt poor compared to before he died.
"You can buy anything you guys like, but make sure it will fit the budget." Tiana reminded, as she has always been strict when it comes to expenses.
"I understand, Mother."
Terrence quickly finished his food after his conversation with his mother. After that, he excused himself and went back to his room.
He was more confused right now compared to when he woke up earlier. He wondered if his memory was distorted.
But that can't be the case… unless something happened without his knowledge.
'What is happening? Why is my memory different from what's happening?'
[Ding!]
[To answer your question, Host, you are back 2 years in time. However, you encountered a disturbance in the process of your time travelling. As a result, you were transported to a different universe.]
The system dropped the answer like a bomb.
"What?!" Terrence's eyes widened after he heard the answer. His jaw fell to the ground.
"What do you mean?" He asked again. He couldn't comprehend what he had just heard. It was as if his brain refused to understand anything the system said.
[You are on the universe called Planet 15. Planet 15 is similar to your original universe, called Earth. These 2 universes are just beside each other. Although you may experience similarities, there's still a huge difference in the two dimensions.]
"You're joking, right?"
[Sorry, Host. I do not know how to make a joke.]
"..."
Terrence was left speechless.
Then does that mean that the body he's currently in doesn't belong to him? If that was the case, what happened to this body's original owner?
How about the virus? Will it not exist in this universe? And all the events that happened in the future?
There were too many questions circulating in his mind. It was flooding and affecting the way he thinks.
"Who am I then...?"
