Magnus had gone to the inn where Arishem and his mortal parents had settled for the night, he just wondered what that slimy witch of an innkeeper was up to.
“Has the fire for the little demon been set?” questioned the witch with the half decayed face to the innkeeper.
“Yes it has been set, and every other thing prepared also” said the innkeeper, when he heard a sound from the front of the inn as though someone was there,
“I thought you said there were no more customers coming to look for a place to rest tonight?” questioned the witch with the half decayed face to the innkeeper.
“I’ll go to check now” said the innkeeper in a whispering voice. Just as the innkeeper had said, he went to check on who was there but on getting there, he saw no one. Thinking it was probably just a stray cat, he left.
The moment the Innkeeper left, Magnus smacked Krezon who had been the reason for the innkeeper’s checking the place they currently were.
“Did master send you, why did you have to follow me you dimwit?” questioned Magnus to Krezon.
“Master sent me to accompany you saying you will surely get yourself and master Arishem killed” replied Krezon ‘ oh master is most probably never going to trust me with his son again’ thought Magnus.
Somewhere between the night, Arishem had woken up feeling all strange and surprisingly suffocated and hot even though it was winter’s turn to accompany the night, so he had gone to open the windows when he caught sight of someone outside who quickly looked up at the window as though he had sensed Arishem’s stare.
Arishem quickly tried to open the doors of the room to go outside but a sudden thought struck him, that what if that person was only luring him outside, but in truth his or her target were his parents, so he decided to wait for the sneaky creature to come to him first.
“Why aren’t we going in to bring out master Arishem safely while the inn can burn all it wants?” questioned Krezon to Magnus
“No we can’t go in now, witches have an habit of always trapping things and people, whereby, when you go in, you wouldn’t be able to come out” replied Magnus to Krezon’s previous question.
‘That means we have to look for a way to get out and not to go in’ thought Krezon.
“Why don’t you leave this part to me Magnus, trust me I know a way to break witches trap formation” said Krezon “ and how do you intend to get that done?” questioned Magnus.
“By killing the witch of course”, replied Krezon with a dark smile marring his face.
“This is probably the most craziest idea, I have heard in my three hundred lights of existence” said Magnus.
“But that is the best thing to do” said Krezon.
“Of course it is the best, but not while the witch is currently holding master Arishem captive, he can even kill one of the little Master’s parents, just to elicit a reaction” said Magnus.
“Okay so what do we do now, at least before the psychotic witch starts the fire?” said Krezon and just as soon as he said that, all around the inn had been set in flames.
“Heck no, this damn witch will die by my hands tonight”, cursed Magnus.
“Get to the back of the inn now Krezon, and try to distract that witch as long as you can, while I look for a way to bring out master Arishem and his mortal parents out safely” demanded Magnus,
“But just be quick okay, because I don’t think I can hold this witch down for long” said Krezon.
“Have you forgotten there are two witches, the innkeeper and the half decayed faced witch, which means I will probably have a rival, so just do as I have told you” said Magnus, to Krezon and with that, he made his way into the inn through the back.
Arishem had seen all around the inn go up in flames, while his parents were still deep in sleep, he didn’t want to panic, so he just opened the windows first and just as he was about opening the next, he saw Magnus come in through the window he had just opened.
“Magnus!” exclaimed Arishem seeing Magnus here, had made him feel strangely relieved that Magnus was here to help him now, when he didn’t have an idea on what to do.
“So are we getting out now? “ question Arishem to Magnus.
“No master Arishem we can’t because the witches have cast a spell on this inn, that anyone who goes in can’t come out”, said Magnus to Arishem
“Then how would we get out of this place?” questioned Arishem to Magnus.
“The fire is spreading fast and we need to leave here” said Magnus, and just as soon as he had that, the doors of the room opened, and the innkeeper walked in, with a mocking smile marring his countenance.
At the back of the inn, Krezon had gone to meet the other witch who has started the fire and on getting there, he saw the witch dressed in dark robes and the hood of the robes covered his or her face.
“Oh, loyal Krezon, where is your master Salgurish”, slurred the witch, and as soon as she took off her hood, Krezon wasn’t surprised to see Fae, his traitorous friend who had left him to die when he had just been spoken to existence by Salgurish, she was one of the very reasons why Krezon didn’t believe in friendship.
“We meet again Fae”, said Krezon and just as he was about to cunningly strike her with his ability she dodge it by an inch and smirked spoke,
“You still haven’t learned to bring your opponent down, with just one strike have you?” questioned Fae, and just as she said that , a drop of blood trickled down from her mouth and that was when she noticed Krezon right behind her and not in front.
“You have failed to realize what was behind and not ahead” uttered Krezon “ illusion” muttered Fae, with her eyes soon turning hollow in death.
Back inside the inn, Magnus was trying to deflect the witcher’s every attack but it seemed as though luck was not on their side today, as Levi soon opened his eyes from deep sleep.
