"Ignore her, she is just looking for attention." Xavier remarked and put his hand around Amber's shoulder. Walking away with her they arrived in front of the hostel.
"When will the results of the exam come out? I heard we have to leave campus tomorrow." Amber muttered.
"Yes, we have to. The results will be sent to you at home by mail during the holiday." Xavier stated
Amber's hand started shaking continuously. Xavier noticed it and held her hand.
"Don't be nervous. I hope you nailed it?" Xavier inquired.
"I knew a few questions, but I was not sure about the rest." Amber muttered, scratching her head.
"Let's go, so you can eat and take your medication. Your health is the most important thing to me." Xavier beamed, stroking her hair when his phone buzzed in his pocket, and so did the phones of the other students at the university.
Xavier brought out his phone and saw a notification. He entered the news.
"I hate black girls. They are...." He switched off his phone, immediately sweating continuously. It was a video of him talking to his friends a few months back.
He gnashed his teeth. "So he recorded our conversation." He muttered through clenched teeth.
Amber was confused. She heard his voice on the phone just now and wanted to know what was going on.
"Isn't that your voice?" She inquired as she noticed the other students were staring at their phones.
"Hand over your phone?" He said, extending his hand to her.
"Why do you want my phone all of a sudden? And besides, it got drenched in the rain last night, so I have to give it to an engineer." She muttered.
Xavier was relieved that she couldn't see the video. All he needed to do was go to the media room to ask the reporters to delete the video.
He grasped her hand and placed the medicine, looking into her eyes.
"Stay here, don't talk to anyone or watch anything. I am coming." He said and ran away.
Mason was watching them from afar and decided to step into the picture.
Students started walking around Amber, making little comments as they walked past her.
Amber was confused. She thought maybe Xavier said that when he hadn't fallen in love with her. She held tightly to her bag looking around when Xavier's friend walked to him.
"Aren't you Amber the black girl that everyone is talking about?" He commented.
"What do you mean by everyone is talking about?" Amber inquired, raising her brow.
"Oh you don't know, I am feeling bad for you already. I thought he loved you, but I was wrong." He remarked.
Amber narrowed her eyes at him. She didn't understand a word he was saying.
"Who are you talking about?" Amber inquired.
"Xavier, your boyfriend, or should I say, fake lover," He commented, folding his hand.
"Fake lover, stop talking in riddles." She said and grabbed his collar, glaring into his eyes. He put his hand in the air.
"Relax, I didn't know you could get aggressive." He muttered, and she slowly let go of his collar.
