Like two grown adults

"Mrs Katherine" he called. Katherine answered and turn to him.

"i told you to take care of this issue didn't i?" he asked. Mrs Katherine kept quiet not saying anything.

"but i guess you don't take my word seriously he said again.

"its not like that. the new intern you ask to work with me delayed it and i could never imagine that someone will have to gut to tamper the the financial entry" she answered feeling guilty about it.

"but she is the one who discover the problem" he said again. "and I also don't remember telling you she is an intern. Also I keep hearing different news about those from your department, they are really doing well" he said sarcastically. "am sorry sir" she replied and bow her head.

"you better be. am sure you wont want to end like Mr Philip. and this is to sound a note of warning to everyone of you. i hope i wont have any reason to call this kind of meeting again" he said sternly and walk out of the meeting room while Micheal and Amy followed behind him. everyone finally release the breath they don't know they were holding.

...."Sonya arrived at the company with Charles and they headed straight to their department. Sonya sat down and found no work on her desk and before she could blink her eyes, someone came to meet her and offer he coffee and they all greeted her. Sonya was surprised about the change in their behaviour. Blair also come over to her and begin to praise her. "Sonya! you are so amazing. how did you get that the account entry was tampered with, you really did something big for our company this time" she said excitedly. Sonya looked confused and wondered what she meant.

"Sonya Mrs Katherine ask you to her office" mike, one of her colleague said to her. she excuse herself from Blair and Charles and went into her office. they both came together later and headed to Maxwell's office together. they arrive at the office and met Micheal and Amy inside with him. they both sat down and waited for him to finish. after awhile he called Mrs Katherine and they talk for a while then she stood up and turn to leave. Sonya stood up immediately to follow her but was stopped by Maxwell.

"are you trying to run away?" he said as he held her arm. Sonya turn to face him and quickly lower her eyes feeling shy "am not, we came in together, so since she is leaving i also have to follow her" she murmured but audible enough for him to hear. Maxwell smiled and draw her closer to himself.

"what are you trying to do?" she said and try to move away from him.

"I've been waiting for five years and i don't want to wait anymore" he said and held her closely. "what five years is he talking about?" she thought and wonder if he's drunk.

"have you thought about what i said yesterday" he asked still not releasing her.

"i thought you didn't mean it" she stuttered

"and I remember i told you i was not joking" he answered sternly. Sonya laugh nervously and wonder why she could not bring herself to tell him no. She likes the way his body feels on hers and felt herself wanting more. She took in his smell and closed her eyes briefly.

"ahem, i don't think this position we are is good enough. why don't you release me first, then we can talk like two grown adult" she manage to say before her thought runs more wide. Maxwell studied her reaction and feels satisfied with it.

"so you want us to talk like two grown adults.." he said to tease her .

"no i don't mean it like that" she replied and raised her head up, her lips were very close to his. Maxwell stare at her lips and swallow hard. they remained that way without any of them moving.

Sonya felt her heart beating very fast, Maxwell breath in her scent, he lean in to capture her lips but Amy's entrance interrupt them. she quickly escape out of his hand. "am sorry sir, i knock the door before coming inside" Amy quickly explained.

"i will just come back later" she said and made to leave.

"just come in" Maxwell said. Sonya stood there awkwardly not knowing what to say.

"i came to ask what you will like to have for lunch" she said. Maxwell faced Sonya and ask her.

"what do you want for lunch?" when Maxwell saw that she was not willing to talk he told Amy to get any chicken dish. "wait!" Sonya said before she could leave.

"get something else, any thing apart from chicken" she said. Amy look at Maxwell for approval and he nodded his head. the both of them were alone in the room again and no one is ready to say anything. Sonya felt a little bit sad because they didn't get to kiss but she discard the feelings quickly. Maxwell walk to the chair and sat down then he tap the sit next to him. Sonya walk over to his side and sat down beside him. after a while Amy came back and place the food in front of them and served it then went out.

"let's eat" Maxwell said and they begin to eat in silent.

"why don't you want to eat chicken" he asked her eating for a while.

"cause you don't like it" she simply replied.

"why do you say that?" Sonya drop her spoon and face him "cause the two times you've treated me it was chicken dishes and you did not touch any. so its probably because you don't like it or cant eat it" she said and pick up her spoon to start eating again. after they finish eating, she made a random excuse and stood up to leave.

"you've not answered mine question yet" he said to her. Sonya turned to him.

"what question?" Maxwell also stand up.

"about me becoming your boyfriend, what is your answer?" "we are back to this" she thought. Maxwell move more nearer and she move back, she keeps moving back until they get to the door and there was no where she could move again.

"you must really like the door" he said. she stare intensely at him, admiring him.

"he looks very handsome and more handsome and more handsome" she thought in her head. then she hit her head to stop her thoughts. Maxwell laugh at her.

"why? do you think am too handsome for you to handle?" he said teasing her.

"he is reading her thought again" she thought in her head and tried to escape through the right side but Maxwell quickly block her, she wanted to escape through the left again and he held his hand up to block her.

"okay fine" she said aloud.

"i think you are really handsome" she said and quickly cover her mouth.

"you think" he said and remove her hand from her mouth.

"no, i know you are handsome" she admitted. Maxwell smiled happily.

Sonya keep quiet for a few seconds before she continued.

"this is the first time a guy would tell me he likes me and not just any guy but Maxwell Hart. i find this very hard to believe and its...." Maxwell cut her short.

"i will give you three days at most" he said.

"what do you mean?"

"am giving you three days to give me an answer and i wouldn't take no for an answer" he said.

"what do you want me to think about then?" she ask.

"think about dating me" he replied. there was another round of silence between them and only their breathe could be heard. Sonya felt his breath on her neck and realize how close they are to each other again.

"okay then, let me go" she said and made to move away, her lips touched Maxwell's chin and arouse the desire in him. "don't move" Maxwell said and close his eyes. Sonya stop trying to move, she felt something like a shock in her body when her lips touch his chin. Maxwell slowly move his mouth towards her lips. unconsciously, Sonya closed her eyes. he lean more close to her and kissed her forehead. then he moved down to her nose and also near to her ears and kissed them.

He return back to her face and caress them. Sonya held her breath and let herself enjoy his touch on her body. she held his shirt lightly and he finally moved to her lips and stopped for a bit like he was trying to control himself. he leans in more finally place his lips on hers.
