As Riley looked around the cathedral, he had a feeling that there was something strange, the priests numbers had reduced significantly, and there were signs of rituals in the cathedral.
A mundane man would have not noticed, but Riley, a trained killer, and an ascender noticed the fluctuation in the essence in the atmosphere.
Although he didn't know what ritual was carried out, or was being prepared, he didn't lower his guard, his magician instincts were tingling, alerting him something was about to happen.
Soon he came across a priest, he was holding Ritual Book, a rosary, and a little bottle containing what Riley suspected to be holy water.
"Ah, just what I needed—a private audience with the local exorcist. How charming," Riley muttered, the sarcasm in his voice a thin veneer over his mounting anxiety.
His words seemed to bounce off the cold, stone walls, only to be swallowed by the silence.
