It was the night before Christmas, the cold air that filled the house soon turned warm as Greyson lit up the fireplace. Both baby girls were sitting on the carpet in front of the tv watching old TV program from the early 2000s.
"Honey, I finished gift wrapping." Estella skipped into the room, where the rest of her family was. Greyson took her into his arms and planted a kiss on her cheek. "Did your family get our Christmas card?" She asked while resting her head of his wide chest.
"Yeah, my mother texted me about half an hour ago, she said the girls look beautiful." He smiled and showed her, his mother's message. "I was actually going to wait until midnight but I'm in love with this family portrait." He said, pulling away from Estellas grip and jogged to the garage room and came back with a long subject wrapped in Christmas paper wrap. Estella's smile grew wide as Greyson gave her the gift.
She was quick to rip the wrapping paper to discover a 26" by 36" size frame with a the picture they took a few weeks ago. They had woken up to a garden full of show, taking the time to bulitvthe snowman and letting the girls with help from their parents decorate the snow figure. They took a picture with the weird figure, where Estella was smiling, holding Katelynn, who was grabbed the branch tree arm of the snowman as Greyson had Lyla sitting on the snow wearing the a black top hat that the snowman was suppose to wear.
" My love, this is the most perfect picture ever" She thank him with tears in her eyes.
"I'm so glad you like it, even tho it was obvious you would. " He kissed her head. " We can place this on the wall on the way up the stairs or in the dinning room. " He suggested.
"I think the dinning room, it's kinda big for the staircase, maybe we can decorate that area with smaller frames of pictures under the Christmas tree or maybe of the girls birthday." She replied.
"Whatever you want to do, we'll do." He took the frame out of her hand as Estella went yo the garage to grab a hammer and some nails. "I need you to tell me if the frame is in the right position" He said as his wife made her way to back.
They made their way to the room where the frame was going to be placed. "That's perfect." She said as Greyson hold the picture frame and marked the wall before hammering.
Greyson got off the chair that he had used to to get higher. "we have such a beautiful family" He said, placing his arm around her shoulder. "speaking of which, we should go back to the girls." He added and began to make his way to the livingroom with his wife still in his arms.
Katelynn was grabbing onto the couch as she stood to hold her balance. Lyla on the other hand was laying on her stomach sound asleep. Mrs.Aveyard made her way to the little girl sleeping and took her into her arms as she made her way to the couch where she sat on the edge of the large furniture.
"Will you start to walk on your own soon?" Greyson said as he kneeled down a little away from Katelynn. He extended his arms giving her the idea he was going to hold her hand. Kate giggled while taking a step closer to Mr.Aveyard while still gripping onto the couch.
"It seems like she wants to." Estella said as Katelynn continue taking her baby steps. Right as Katelynn let go of the couch, she was quick to fall back onto her bottom.
Greyson had an expression of worriness that left his face within 3 seconds as Katelynn giggled and started crawling, instead of trying to walk towards her father's arms. "oh my beautiful baby girl are you okay? " He rubbed the back of her. The little girl started blabbering to her father as if she was telling a story.
Estella admired them. "Babe, its almost midnight. We're half an hour away from Christmas night." She smiled.
"Then take care of the girls I'll bring down the gifts and place them under the tree." He said placing Katelynn onto the couch.
She took her under her arm and kissed her cheeks. "both of you girls are my most important treasure in life." She spoke to them as Greyson made his way up to the guest room, took the gifts that his wife had neatly wrapped and decorated with bows big white bows.
Once the presents were placed under the red and golden decorated Christmas tree. Estella woke up Lyla and detached little Katelynn from breast feeding. Her husband took Kate's small hand and helped her walk towards the tree as her mother repeated the same action but with her little sister. "Oh my!" Her mother said as she let go of Lyla's hand, as she stepped forward a few steps on her own until she met the floor. "yeah.." Her parents clapped with joy as Lyla took her first steps at such a young time of her life.
"Katelynn are you next?" Her father asked as he tried doing the same to the older daughter, but failed. "she'll soon start walking" He told his wife.
Both parents full of joy and happiness with the biggest smiles on their faces as they handed the little girls their Christmas presents. With the help of their father they opened the gifts.
"Honey I believe it's your turn" His wife said handing him a small box.
With a smirk on his face he started to rip open the paper and then lift the top off the box, to relieve a very expensive watch that had the girls initials in it and on back the time of birth. "This is the most loveliest gift anyone has ever gotten me." He pulled her into a kiss as the girls were distracted with the toys they were given. "And here your present" He said as he pulled back and gave her an even smaller box then she had given him.
She opened the small jewelry box, relieving a lovely silver necklace with the date of the girls birthday. "I love this" Her smile grew wider. "I guess we were connected on getting each other something related to our children." She giggled and Greyson nodded and placed his lips onto hers once again.
"Merry Christmas gorgeous. " He said pulling away and placing his hand onto her blushed cheeks.
"Merry Christmas my love"
