A new Journey

A carriage could be seen moving toward the exit gate; It was wooden and looked very simple.

Two Bull-like Demonic Beasts pulled it; an imp Demon drove it. Inside was a boy with deep Blue Eyes; he was looking at the leather pouch with a banner carved on it through embroidery on it.

At the ends of its two strings were tiny Demonic crystals; he touched it softly, his eyes becoming moist.

Staring outside the carriage window, his eyes fall on the crowded streets filled with different types of Demons. He rarely came out of the Duskground Family, so this part was foreign to him.

The city looked prosperous; he saw everyone busy in their lives. He looked at the happy faces, and for the first time in his life, he felt this was not that bad of a place.

He might miss this city too, along with his Mother and Melusina.

While the Duskcrowned city was never kind to him, It was his birthplace.

If he removed the bullying by his Family members, this city was not bad in itself. To be honest, it was beautiful. He was still not sure he would see many places such as this.

Cart kept moving, taking him away from his house.

He closed his eyes, holding his heart; the scene appeared in his mind again.

Amon stood before his house with his head lowered and moist in his eyes. He didn't want to leave but had no other choice.

The warmth from the hug from his mother could still be felt by him; he remembered that she gave him this pouch and told him it had everything he needed.

From now on, he had to depend on himself; time passed by, and he found himself on a bumpy path.

The whole cart shook; he felt like his whole body was vibrating. He looked out and saw it was moving through the rocky mountain path.

Below, he could see the deep valley; he was sure even his bones would not be found if he fell from this height.

As he stuck his head outside, he could see multiple carts moving together through this path.

It continued moving for many hours till it finally reached the surface; it stopped in the nearby town.

Everyone stepped out of their carts and went to the Inns for their meal; Amon joined them and sat with the Driver.

He was served bread and meat; looking at others, he saw them eating it. The bread felt hard like a rock, and the meat looked low-quality.

No one complained as it was very cheap; he had to eat with his hand. The experience from the Forest came in handy this time; this was still better than what he had to eat there.

He started eating it, using water to push it through his neck and gulp it.

After finishing the meal, he went to the market with the Driver. He was buying some things, he didn't have a lot of money.

He bought some wheat, a little meat, and a wooden toy. Then, with a smile on his face, the Imp started to move the cart; he traveled for five hours before they reached a small village.

It continued to move, stopping before a small hut. A small girl appeared wearing a dress filled with patches and wrinkles.

With a smile, she jumped at the Driver; he held her, took her in his embrace, and raised her before gently planting an Angel kiss on her forehead.

"Father, did you bring something for me?" She asked with a cute expression.

The Imp sat and looked at his daughter with a sad expression on his face before replying in a low tone, "Sorry Amy, I was not able to earn enough to buy something for you."

A disappointed expression appeared on the face of the girl, but she quickly hid it; she hugged him and smiled. "It's okay Father, you can bring me one next time."

"Hah ha," The Imp laughed as he patted his daughter; he took out the wooden toy and gave it to her. "I was kidding; how can I not bring something for my cute princess."

A bright expression appeared on the face of the girl; It bloomed like a lotus. She took the wooden doll and ran away to the neighborhood to show it to her friends. They made fun of her because she didn't get a new toy.

The six-year-old was controlling her laughter, waiting to see their face filled with jealousy.

Amon stared at everything from the cart, "So is this how it feels to have a father?" he released a sigh as he looked at the ceiling.

He had never seen his father, nor did he know anything about him. Only recently did he find out he had already passed out; a sudden rage appeared in him.

"I will not forgive those that snatched the shade of father from my head, " For the first time, he had accepted that he also had a father.

His eyes became moist as he thought about how it would have felt to have a father; he took a deep breath and calmed down. "Was I always too Harsh on him?"

"Blaming him for each problem I faced. Is it because those around me made me feel I am inferior?"

Multiple questions appeared in his mind, "Now I am curious what humans are like and what type of person he was."

"Will I ever be able to find out about him?" He asked himself, not knowing why he was suddenly curious.

"I should forget about it for now; I should focus on what to do next. Mother said I would need to depend on my own from now on. I will only be able to become stronger when I get self-reliant."

"Sir," He heard someone calling him.

Amon looked from the window and noticed the Driver approaching him, "Sir, it's already Dusk. It's unsafe to travel at night through the Forest. So we will need to spend the night in the village."

"Alright," Nodded Amon.

He noticed that the DDriver had still not left; he looked at him as if asking, what does he want?

"Umm, Sir you will not find any good Inn in the village. Why don't you join my family for dinner." He asked with a smile.

Amon didn't know what to say, he had seen him purchasing and while the Imp was being kind to him, he didn't want to burden him.

However, refusing would also not be polite. He thought for a moment before saying "Alright but I don't eat normal meat, I will return with the meat she can prepare that."

The face of the Imp brightened; he thought Amon would also refuse his invitation like other high-class Demons.
