The people at the university had given him some specific instructions. Though they mostly talked about what they wanted out of this temple, they still permitted murder.
He could kill one or two of these people, if they arrogantly failed to cooperate. The conversation seemed to be going towards that direction now, and he felt bad about murdering people for once, because these ones here really seemed peaceful.
Bardeelus still wanted to try and steer them towards the right direction, so he decided to use their preachy nature against them, and for their own good too.
"Mercy tends to… contradict itself." He said.
That little sentence took a great portion of his brain to come up with, but since he got their attention, there was no point in stopping now.
