Chapter 149: Dark Minions

Jim walked through the ruins of the City of Monsters on the Western Side of the Kingdom. The once vibrant and lively city now lay in ruins after the devastating battle with Niren that occurred ten years ago and had barely recovered. The surviving creatures who had sought refuge in the city were now scattered and disheartened.

Approaching a group of his kind, Jim's eyes softened with compassion as he saw the pain and despair in their eyes. He concluded that they had been infected by Abyssam, their once friendly and peaceful natures twisted and corrupted by the malevolent force. Despite their monstrous appearances, they were innocent victims, and Jim could not bear to see his fellow creatures suffer like this.

"Hey, everyone," Jim said, in a calm and reassuring way. "I know things are tough right now, but we'll get through this. Remember what I taught you about not being violent towards Neospacians? We need to stay strong and united, even in the face of adversity."
