CH 16 D RANK MISSION

"Is that really your speed, or something else?" Before Mito could complete her thought, Kakashi asked her a a question.

Mito was confused about what to answer. She wasn't sure if he had seen her use the Flying Thunder God technique, so she denied it and said, "Yeah, that was my real speed. I practiced with a heavy weight belt and with Shadow Clone Jutsu."

"How do you know so many dishes at such a young age?" Kakashi asked.

Mito was shocked to hear this. She didn't know how Kakashi had found out about her cooking skills. Before she could mention books, Kakashi started explaining.

"Well, just after the graduation exam, I was told to visit students' houses. When I visited Sasuke Uchiha's home, it was quite messy. I expected the same from your house, but it was very clean and everything was in its place.

"I saw a piggy bank. It was heavy, and I wondered how you guys had so much money, so I started spying on both of you. Naruto is still a kid; he plays and practices his jutsu. But when I was spying on you, I often saw you at Ichiraku Ramen at night.

"I figured out you were running a small business. I understand you guys had financial issues, and maybe that's why you started your business."

At this point, Mito realized that Kakashi wasn't asking about the recipes but was instead expressing concern. Yet, she felt tense and mischievous vibes from him.

To calm Kakashi down, Mito, who had shown off a lot during graduation and the bell test, decided to act dumb. "Yeah, I started my own business to keep my brother and me safe," Mito replied.

In canon, everyone knows Naruto was all alone, even Kakashi, but he didn't pay much attention to Naruto.

"I like your dishes. Whatever you make is delicious," Kakashi said. Mito started blushing after receiving a compliment from Kakashi.

She didn't wait another minute. She stood up and started walking, asking Naruto to come along, but Kakashi stopped her.

"We have a mission tomorrow. Be ready," Kakashi said. He took down his mask in front of the ramen girl, while his back was facing Mito.

Mito saw the ramen girl turn red like a tomato.

"Lol, I know you're hot. No need to show me, Kakashi Hatake," Mito muttered.

"Come on, Naruto," Mito said and left the shop.

There was no way Kakashi would fall for a 12-year-old Uzumaki girl, but he was thinking about her all the time. Maybe it was the effect of his Icha Icha book.

At night in the Hokage office:

"Shadow Clone Jutsu," Mito muttered, and she made over 100 shadow clones.

"Okay, now listen. We have to find every book that tells us about the Uzumaki clan. Understood?" Mito muttered.

Every clone was searching for every Uzumaki book and piece of information they could find. Some were in the library, and some were in the Hokage office. They were quiet enough for their research.

Mito wanted to know more about the Uzumaki clan and sealing strategies, but it was quite obvious that even the Hokage office didn't have any books related to Uzumaki sealing techniques.

Before Mito got caught, she quickly dispelled all her shadow clones and went straight to her house in the early morning.

"Damn, I need to be careful," Mito said when she went into her house. Mito and Naruto used to share a single room, and she had to be careful not to wake him.

IN THE MORNING:

Naruto, Sasuke, and Mito found themselves in a difficult situation. They had to complete a dangerous D-rank mission: catching Tora the Cat.

While Naruto and Sasuke were struggling to catch the cat, Mito was busy acting dumb in front of Kakashi. She didn't want to show any jutsu or strategy.

Naruto shouted, "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" and a lot of shadow clones appeared, each trying to catch Tora.

Mito really wanted Naruto to catch this cat. She didn't want Naruto to look dumb everywhere.

"Are you ready?" Kakashi said.

"I got the target," Sasuke replied.

"Let's do it, dattebayo!" Naruto replied.

"Naruto, catch!" Mito shouted.

Naruto jumped from his place, stretching his body, and caught Tora.

"D-rank mission complete: catching Tora," Kakashi said.

After reaching the Hokage office, tired and with dirty clothes, Naruto was extremely angry at the Hokage for giving him this kind of mission. Just like in canon, Naruto started acting up.
