Chapter 7: THE WILL OF FIRE IS TOO HEAVY!

"Yuichi, what are you doing reading this book?" Yuhi Kurenai asked curiously, her big eyes blinking as she noticed Yuichi Yuuki holding a copy of "The Will of Fire."

After their introductions, Umino Ikkaku had asked them to review the textbooks and wait an hour before starting the formal class.

Yuichi Yuuki casually responded, "The Will of Fire is quite interesting, don't you think?"

Among the books distributed by the school, the most important ones were "The Will of Fire" and "Chakra Refining Method." There were also books on assassination, intelligence gathering, the Ninja Encyclopedia, and mathematics. However, these additional books were not as thick as "The Will of Fire."

"I've read a bit of it," Yuhi Kurenai said.

"The Will of Fire" isn't just about the phrase that 'the fire of Konoha will never extinguish.' It also includes many stories of ninjas acting voluntarily and famous quotes from the Third Hokage. To stay in Konoha, one must thoroughly understand "The Will of Fire."

Yuichi Yuuki and Yuhi Kurenai continued to browse their books with interest.

Nearby, a young man who had been dismissed earlier looked longingly at the "Chakra Refining Method" in his hands. Learning the chakra refining method would prevent him from being beaten after acquiring chakra. He vowed to take revenge and secretly glared at Yuichi Yuuki.

"What's he so proud of? It's just that he can use chakra. Once I learn it, I'll make sure he regrets it!"

His voice was so quiet that no one around him could hear. Yuichi Yuuki, unaware of the target on his back, would probably find it amusing if he knew someone was targeting him over such a trivial matter. In a world focused on bloodlines, a civilian having such thoughts was rather absurd.

Yuichi Yuuki, who had started refining chakra at the age of five, was already a year ahead of them. He wasn't worried about others learning chakra refinement.

As time passed, the morning class focused on chakra refining. Umino Ikkaku explained the process in detail, but for Yuichi Yuuki and Kurenai Yuhi, it was redundant since they had already mastered it.

Though Kurenai Yuhi was slightly irritated by Yuichi Yuuki's behavior, she was genuinely kind-hearted and treated him like family. She only showed irritation because she was concerned about her daughter.

Kurenai Yuhi, a senior ninja in Konoha, didn't have access to the secret medicines used by major families to aid chakra refinement. It was ideal for children to begin chakra refinement after the age of six when their development is complete. However, children from influential families often started at three due to early access to such medicines.

Yuichi Yuuki and Yuhi Kurenai could only refine chakra at five because Yuhi Shinku, despite his position, had limited access to these resources. The secret medicines he managed to procure were shared between Yuichi Yuuki and Kurenai Yuhi, so they both refined chakra at five.

Despite his irritation, Yuichi Yuuki understood the situation and refrained from criticizing Yuhi Shinku.

As Yuichi Yuuki thought about this, Umino Ikkaku continued to drone on about chakra refinement, covering only a few pages worth of material repeatedly.

The students, except for those from civilian backgrounds, were bored. Hatake Kakashi, among them, noted how Yuichi Yuuki seemed to be staring blankly at the front.

Yuhi Kurenai, on the other hand, paid close attention to Umino Ikkaku, eager to be a diligent student.

Hatake Kakashi glanced at Uchiha Obito, who was distractedly reading a book on ninja techniques while the teacher was discussing chakra refinement. Obito's blatant disregard for the class was unusual.

Just then, Umino Ikkaku, unable to tolerate Obito's behavior any longer, threw a piece of chalk at him, hitting his forehead directly.

"Uchiha Obito!" Umino Ikkaku shouted, causing the entire classroom to focus on Obito.

"Ah?" Uchiha Obito, startled, stood up abruptly and exclaimed, "I'm here!"

Laughter erupted among the students.

"How funny!"

"Is this how all the Uchiha clan members behave?"

"He's so clueless."

Seeing Obito's reaction, Umino Ikkaku restrained his frustration, remembering it was the first day of school and he needed to make a good impression. He forced a smile and asked, "Can you tell the class what this lesson is about?"
