Academy Entrance Test I

Unlike my prior world school system, the Ninja Academy or just the Academy didn't have a minimum age restriction to enroll, but the common practice or tradition was that parents wouldn't enroll their children until they were four years old, another thing I noticed was that there were new courses every three months, they arrange classes either by their knowledge, their physical prowess or their age, it was common for those with a civilian background to be on a different class than those that had ninja parents or were part of a Clan.

The Academy had a simple knowledge test, consistent of literacy level and basic math and geometry, the older kids had an advanced test according to the minimum level of knowledge expected for their ages, in that regard the sooner you enrolled, the better your chances were to be part of the ninja course, reason why the parents either prepared their children on their own or hired professional tutors to help them for that day.

For those that failed the entrance test were given the option to try again in three months or be enrolled on the civilian course for a year, they would receive the same general education but instead of being focused on ninja work, it was oriented towards a daily life use, like in my old world, the only downside was that they lacked the Taijutsu, Genjutsu and Ninjutsu training, as well as being unable to take the test for the ninja course for a whole year, but at least they get education and not every single person wanted to become a ninja, at least half of the students of the civilian course were there by their own will.

It's been a year since I started training, my mom wanted to hire a private tutor to help me with the Academy test, but aunt Kurenai told her she was taking care of that as well, she took an entire week to realize I was able to understand this world equivalent of elementary grade math, the only thing she actually taught me was how to read and write, that was something I couldn't figure out on my own, it didn't take long before I was able to write and read fluently.

Besides the basic education course, aunt Kurenai always made sure I kept improving, by now I'm able to stick fifty leafs to different Tenketsu points, the physical training remained the same, but the time dedicated to Chakra control increased, she also taught me the basics about Hand Seals and how they affected the way my Chakra manifested depending on the order they were made and the amount of Chakra used, she also took the liberty of teaching me basic Taijutsu and how to properly hold and use different kind of ninja tools, my favorite is the Senbon, is light, barely visible when throw and lethal if the right amount of force is applied.

She still refuses to teach me proper Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, she only explained how Ninjutsu and Genjutsu worked, the main difference was that Ninjutsu is real and that's why it was capable of impacting the world and had two main principles, Shape transformation, and Nature Transformation, Genjutsu on the other hand, was a Chakra signal send to the Chakra Pathway located in the brain, influencing the perception of the brain making it believe it was sensing something else as reality, in other words it was only on the mind, but that didn't make it less lethal than Ninjutsu.

I promised aunt Kurenai to not practice Ninjutsu or Genjutsu until she decided I was ready, or wait for the Academy to give me my first lessons, but me being the genius that I am found a loophole, she never said anything about practicing Illusions, she wasn't even aware of them or the Mist Flame, how do I know that? I manifested the Mist Flame once in front of her, she didn't see it.

Furthermore, I learned that the Illusions I was able to create, fall in one of three categories, Mental Illusions, Environment Illusions and Real Illusions, Mental Illusions send electric impulse directly to the brain, unlike Genjutsu it didn't use the Chakra Pathway making it impossible to be disrupted by the flow of Chakra, it requires the victim to actively look for flaws, Environment Illusions manifest in the real world, changing how the surrounding looks, it doesn't send a signal to the brains, is closer to me projecting my thoughts to the world, and the world changes according to my wishes, like Mental Illusions the victims need to find flaws or disrupt my concentration to end the Illusion, Finally Real Illusion could be either Mental or Environment Illusions, but they were able to physical interact with the victim, meaning anything they sense was real, if they saw a bear running towards them, they better dodge or suffer the consequences of being tackled by a bear, as far as I know the only way to counter these Illusions was by disrupting my concentration, having a strong mind or your own Mist Flame that is used to empower the Real Illusions.

The Illusions I was able to create weren't free, the cost is mental power, the more Illusions I make the more my mind tires, if I overused the Illusions the after effects ranged from a mild headache to falling unconscious, but just like Chakra constant practice made my mental power growth in both efficiency and reserve.

{Six weeks time skip}

Finally, the day has come, today is the Academy Entrance Test, parents, guardians and tutors are filling papers, on the tables conveniently put at either side of the gate, the left one for the civilian course and the right one that is the more concurred for the ninja course, from my position I can see some members of the Rookie nine, Naruto, Saske and Hinata are already past the gates, Sakura and Ino are talking to each other, like the good friends they were before the break-up to fight over Saske, Kiba is currently at the table waiting for his mom to fill the papers, Shino is behind him, the rest of them I can't find them, they aren't here yet, or they are already inside the building, guess is just matter of time before I meet them.
