Chapter 71 : After Preliminary

I have no idea what I was thinking, honestly speaking I don't think I was speaking anymore back then, it's like something inside me just snapped and that bastard hit me in the head.

Sigh.

Well, there is no point pondering about it anymore, it's not like I can hide my true strength forever, in certain ways it's actually better to show what you are capable of.

Though I'm sure that this is certainly not the time, what happened in the preliminary will put a lot of attention on me, I'm sure of it.

As found myself sleeping in the darkness surrounding me, I couldn't help but ponder whether to get out of this place or wait until that guy outside got away.

Fighting against Sasuke took a toll on my body, and though I am completely healed thanks to Round Deer's Reverse Curse Technique still I am exhausted.

I am glad that I left a clone out to look after me. While he was taking me out, guess what happened.

A certain snake uncle came after me, freaking the shit out of the clone, but gladly the clone put me in some random shadow before Orochimaru got to him, and the moment the clone popped after luring away the snake Sanin, those memories came to me, finally waking me up.

I don't believe that he can find me here inside the shadows. Let's just wait until he is gone, another nap is looking very tempting just about now.

I can't help but yawn seeing my body lacking the necessary energy and motivation to move when on top of the fact that staying in the shadows right now was the best option for me, I just decided to play a Nara for the first time and just took a short nap until that snake is gone...

Or at least that was the plan, by the time I woke up again, it was already night, getting out of the shadow, I looked around and saw that there was no danger I yawned again and moved on.

"I probably go to the Uncle's house, explaining this to both Uncle and Aunty gonna be hard... such a drag."

I was extra slow at taking my time to get back home, somewhat hoping that I might just not have to face them regarding this fight but that was just me being ridiculously optimistic.

However, that was just one small part of why I was taking my time.

This was confusing, I'm pretty sure that I will become a Chunin with the kind of performance I have given there but that's not the point, I am not a Chunin yet, at least not officially. So why?

That sure changes things. Greatly if I say so...

This means that hiding my powers might not be that good thing, showing can promote me faster, even if the village doesn't promote me, if I show the required strength I can get the reward nonetheless.

But more than anything...

This means that I don't have to remain in the village... this gives me more options in the future, staying in the village gave me few limited options to really bring any change in the story, unwillingly I might have to follow the cannon in that case to some degree.

But if I can still complete missions outside the village, then I can actually make some meaningful difference.

I have to think about it, my future plan will greatly change with this. This about this I smile a little and then look back at the notification, pondering what I should choose.

But before I could do that, I sensed a presence lingering around me, following me.

Well telling that I sense it will be a little far fetch, it was actually one of my divine dogs which I now usually always keep in my shadow and smell someone following me.

This was a decision to counter my lack of sensing ability, the dog also acts like a surprise attack if I ever need him.

Maybe choosing the rewards has to wait for now.

"Come out, I know you are there..." I said while getting ready to get attacked from any angle. Waited for a little while and when upon no one came out call out again.

"Come on, if you are not gonna come out yourself then scram," I said while on the backfoot preparing for anything.

Thanks to my divine dogs I can now sense that there is someone trailing me but who that person is, I have no idea.

Honestly not having any ability to sense is a pain in the neck, I really need to find a proper way to fix this shortcoming of mine.

This could be anyone, my best guess is someone from Danszo's side.

Orochimaru has already tried to attack me, thanks to his clone's memories he knows that the clone popped when Orochimaru tried to put the curse mark on his neck like Sasuke.

So Orochimaru was planning to mark him, but he was already gone, I don't think he should have that much time to linger around just for me.

There is no reason for Hokage to track me with his Anbu, so the only person this could be...

Yo, story from here on will start changing, I never planned to follow the cannon much at the start but did a little so that I can give MC time to get stronger.
