Konoha.
Ninja Academy.
"Start!!!"
Iruka announced the start of the fight as Neji dashed towards Gojo.
"Too slow"
Gojo smiled as to him the movements of Neji were even slower than a turtle, but as decided earlier, he didn't use any of his abilities and made a hand sign.
The palm of Neji struck Gojo, who suddenly burst into smoke and a log fell on the ground.
"Substitution Jutsu"
Neji immediately got alert as he made several hand signs.
"Byakugan!!"
Said Neji, and veins appeared around his white eyes as he finally launched the Doujutsu of Hyuga Clan.
Gojo, who had disappeared, suddenly appeared behind him as he lightly punched Neji since he didn't want to bully a kid.
"Caught You!!!"
But contrary to his expectations, Neji seemed to have eyes behind his back as he caught the wrist of Gojo and slammed his other hand towards the stomach of Gojo.
"Oh~"
A surprised expression appeared on the face of Gojo, but he knew it wasn't the time to think about it as he needed to parry his attack.
Neji, who had the wrist of Gojo in his grip, suddenly felt a jerk and was pushed back.
"What power!!!"
Neji stopped after moving back a few steps, but a slight surprise was on his face.
He had fought Gojo before, and he always defeated him in combat, but this time he looked completely different from before.
"What happened to this guy?"
Thought Neji while looking at Gojo, who had such an increase in physical strength suddenly,
"How did you know that I was behind you?"
Gojo was sure Neji never looked back, but he was suddenly able to counterattack, which surprised him.
"Byakugan is the Doujutsu of Hyuga Clan; it allows me to have a complete view of my surroundings; with Byakugan, I have nearly no blind spot."
Seeing the confused Gojo, Neji told him about the ability of Byakugan as those who watched the fight from the sidelines were really surprised.
"This is not the end; using Byakugan, you can even see long distances, and it also has x-ray vision.
Iruka watched the fight, saw the surprised kids, and decided to tell them clearly since it was not a secret.
"Amazing..."
The kids around were envious.
"Nearly no blind spot, Long distance vision. X-ray vision, really convenient abilities."
Gojo had to admit if appropriately used, these abilities were advantageous.
Especially for spying, these abilities would really help a lot.
"Now do you understand, Satoru, no matter how hard you try, some things are destined to remain the same"
"You were born ordinary, and no matter how hard you try, you can't change your fate."
With an indifferent expression on his face, Neji told Gojo about the truth of the world.
Some are born to be king, some are born to be enslaved, all is destined, and man can't change it no matter how hard it tries.
"It seems this kid is also someone with a story."
Gojo didn't get angry by his words and carefully observed Neji.
In those indifferent eyes, he could see deep unwillingness, something that made him have such thoughts.
"If everything is destined, why do I see unwillingness in your eyes."
Gojo asked, looking at Neji with a wide grin on his face.
"Shut up!!"
Gojo's words seemed to have touched his bottom line as he rebuked him harshly and got ready to finish him off.
"Stop, this match ends in a draw."
Iruka, who watched from the sidelines, saw the situation getting out of hand and immediately ended the match.
Neji had no choice but to stop, but his eyes didn't seem as indifferent as before.
Gojo's words really poked his weakest point; due to what happened to his father, he was far more mature than his peers.
But whenever Neji remembers how his father was treated, he can't help but blame fate.
And the mark on his forehead reminded Neji that he was just a bird in a cage and would always be locked in it.
"It's easy for you to say whatever you want… but how can you understand me."
Thought Neji as he refused to believe in the words of Gojo and went back to the classroom, not in a good mood.
Gojo didn't care about the match being a draw, and all he was thinking about now was Byakugan.
"It seems his x-ray vision can't see through the veil placed on my glasses"
His shining eyes couldn't be blocked just by glasses, so he placed a barrier on them, and his eyes were hidden perfectly behind them.
If he could see through, Neji would have noticed it when he looked at him with those eyes.
The exam ended, and both Neji and Gojo were awarded first place in the class as their grades were perfect.
But Gojo didn't care much about it as after school, he went straight towards the sweet shop and savored the sweets with relish.
