The day after, it was a weekend, a strange day if you stopped to think about everything that had happened. Ryo was calmly sitting on Naruto's sofa while the other young boy talked about their days at the ninja academy, nothing too out of the ordinary. However, he told Ryo about the conflicts he had already created with Sasuke, the last Uchiha in Konoha.
While Naruto spoke excitedly, Ryo ate instant ramen. Naruto had finished his some time ago but continued to talk enthusiastically, as there wasn't much time left before he became a real ninja. Of course, there were still a few years to go, but he didn't seem to mind much.
"And then, Iruka-sensei opened the door, and bam, the eraser fell on his head!" He began to laugh as he remembered the scene. Ryo laughed along while eating. Naruto's antics had already come close to what they were at the beginning of the anime. Perhaps his personality development had been slightly accelerated due to his interactions with Ryo.
The day had been calm until then, unlike Ryo's last few days, during which he also recounted some of his small adventures as a ninja on his first mission for Naruto, who was excited about it all. After some time passed, Ryo returned to his house on the ground floor. He had to do something he hadn't done in a while: go to the training field he always went to before becoming a ninja. After preparing for it, Ryo flickered away towards the small forest where he trained.
Upon arriving, he arranged some items on the table. Then, he made a hand seal, creating a shadow clone that, together with the main one, opened the scroll of sword art that Kentou had left in the katana box. He looked at the clone, and both began to study the scroll.
After a few minutes, Ryo and the clone began to replicate some movements, with the clone holding the scroll now while Ryo made the movements, and the clone would tell him what needed to be changed and adjusted to perform the movements correctly.
The scroll was quite comprehensive, with detailed explanations of each movement. Unfortunately, from what Ryo could read, there was only one special attack described in the scroll, a kenjutsu called Ittoryu - Sagi-Kiri. It was a technique based on strength and speed.
"The sheath of katanas acts as a temporary chakra reservoir for executing explosive force strikes," the clone explained. On the other side was Ryo, who infused his chakra into the sheathed katana by his waist. In front of him was a large tree. Once he felt he had infused a good amount of chakra into the blade of the katana, he then drew the sword quickly, making a cut in front of him.
A golden glow appeared as the blade left the sheath, following the katana in a horizontal arc in front of him, colliding with the tree and passing through it effortlessly. Once the strike finished, Ryo looked at the blade, which was steaming from the strike, as if it were hot.
In front of him was a clean and precise cut. It had been such a fluid cut through the tree that it seemed like a single line where the cut had been made. Shortly afterward, Ryo felt the exhaustion of his chakra hitting his body, and he sat on the ground, breathing heavily.
"That was almost half of my chakra, and it wasn't even the technique from the scroll. I wanted to test the functionality of the sheath in storing chakra. And in the end, it can hold half of my chakra."
It wasn't a flying cut or a big strike, but something like this could become another asset for Ryo to have in his arsenal of weapons and techniques. Especially considering that if he could master something like this, he could eventually merge the golden aura around the blade with all the chakra and use Sagi-Kiri.
"Mastering this, perhaps it will become my strongest move." He thought to himself and continued training. However, as he already had little chakra due to the strike and the clone, he touched the third coin while feeling the flow of chakra entering his body, and once again, Ryo's chakra reserves were a little over half, allowing him to train for longer.
He had gained a week of "vacation" due to the change in the leader of Team 13 and also until Denji fully recovered. Ryo's goal was to train his new sword technique all week, as, since it had great power described in the scroll, there were more ways to use the katana as well.
A week later, Ryo was leaving his house, dressed in his ninja attire, but his katana was no longer on his back; it was on his waist. After training for a week, he had seen that it was the best position to use the new technique and to battle with the katana.
He headed towards the Hokage's office; Denji had been discharged from the hospital the day before, and shortly after that, the three members of the team received a message to go to Hiruzen's office to receive new instructions and meet the new sensei of Team 13. Ryo had no idea who the sensei would be. He didn't remember the names of all the ninjas who appeared in the anime, especially with everything that was happening.
As he arrived, he saw Haruka and Denji waiting for him at the entrance. Denji had a strong smile, while Haruka was as calm as ever. "Ryo finally arrived! Come on, we have to see our team's new sensei. I hope it's Asuma-sensei!" Ryo chuckled lightly and thought to himself.
"I imagine it will be a not-so-well-known jounin, right? Konoha's jounins from the Bingo Book are being attacked, so they won't assign us a very famous ninja." He analyzed the situation as they climbed the stairs and then opened the door to the Hokage's office. Inside, when Ryo looked at the two people there, one was clearly Hiruzen, but the other was their new sensei.
