It was now 6 months into the second Shinobi War, and most of the forces have now been deployed, including Nawaki and Kayama Senju. Kayama was never in the main story, but Nawaki was, along with Tsunade's long-term boyfriend, Dan. From what Hyto remembered, Nawaki died on practically his first mission, and almost at the same time, Dan died, which caused a lot of trauma for Tsunade.
Since he has a close relationship with Tsunade, Hyto doesn't want her to go through something so tragic. He planned to the very least save her little brother, Nawaki, who she loved dearly.
Majin was now at the main camp and have built up a fierce reputation at this point, as the mention of their name could even make the strongest of jounin be put on edge, as many other jounin have already fallen to them.
The name, The Huntsman, was also becoming somewhat legendary, as many people even suspect him to be some sort of myth or a ghost, as he can kill someone without them ever knowing he was there. Many claim to have given countless killing blows to The Huntsman, only for him to keep fighting and heal as if nothing happened.
The Huntsman quickly became the boogeyman of the war, as him and his demonic group called the, Majin, have cleared many camps without being seen that others deem as an impossible feat.
Not even the other Leaf shinobi know the true identity of Majin, as they are never allowed to take off their masks in public. So even when Leaf shinobi get captured and tortured for information on Majin, the only thing they even know is that they work for Konoha.
Thanks to Hyto and the rest of Majin, Konoha's progress in the war was going far better than it did in the original, but this has only made the other nations that much desperate, especially Kumo and Kiri, as since Kumo attacked Konoha half-heartedly, they wouldn't be able to sustain a war with both Konoha and Kiri. It would be the same case for Kiri.
The war with Iwa on the other hand, was actually picking up pace, as they wanted to get as much progress as the could before the war with Konoha and Suna ended.
Hyto and the rest of Majin were just walking into the commander's tent in the main camp, other shinobi making space as they passed by, showing the respect they have earned. Walking into the main office and the door closing behind them, Hyto and the others were finally able to take off their masks, as in the room were the only other people who knew who they all were.
Tsunade, Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and lastly, the Hokage. After Hyto and the others kneeled to Hiruzen to show their respect, he had them rise with a warm smile on his face.
"Hyto, I knew I was right about you all along. You and your team has made me and the village very proud. It is clear for anyone to see that the Will Of Fire burns brightly in each one of you, which is why I'm here personally to meet you." Hiruzen said as he stood from his seat and put out the cigarette he was smoking.
"Hyto, you and Majin have done tremendously, which is why today, you will all be promoted. Amagi Rasugi, Nono Yukasha, Nikoda Rasugi, and Ayumi Uchiha, you are each now Chunin! And Hyto, it is my honor to name you as the youngest Jounin in Konoha history!" Hiruzen said jovially, shocking Hyto and the others. But, judging by the smiles of Tsunade, Jiraiya, and surprisingly a small smirk from Orochimaru as well, this was probably in the making for a while.
Hyto was genuinely surprised, as he was only 11 years old, nearly 12 at this point, which was a very big deal. This meant he beat both Kakashi and Itachi in terms of promotion speed, as they both reached that level at 12. And he matched age of the legendary Shisui Uchiha, who held the title as the youngest jounin at 11. But, since Hyto was born first, that honor goes to him.
"I really get to be a chunin?! Yes! Hyto, I did it!" Amagi said, jumping on Hyto excitedly, making everyone laugh at her hijinks.
"Yes, yes Amagi. Now get yourself together before the Hokage regrets his decision." Hyto said, trying and failing to pry Amagi off of him.
"She's fine, Hyto. Amagi has always been a source a bright energy. Still, I come with more than just promotions. Majin has done just as I hoped, and made a great impression on the battlefield. But now is time for a change I fear. I need Majin to separate and expand." Hiruzen said in a neutral tone, as he knew they would not like this decision.
Sure enough the rest of Majin launched their complaints until Hyto silenced them.
"That's enough! You are all Chunin now, which means it is time for you to start setting the example and act like leaders! Now, he didn't say he was disbanding us, he specifically said 'Expand', so let the Hokage finish before you overreact!" Hyto said, quickly grabbing the reins of his team and calming them, impressing the other jounin and the Hokage.
"Hyto is right. Majin was always meant to become a full division of elite shinobi. Like the Anbu, Majin will only have two leaders, Hyto and the only person above him, me. The only difference between the Anbu will be that Majin will operate outside of the nation's border's on highly classified missions that I assign. This war and your team were meant to introduce this concept to the world, but you all have far exceeded my expectations, which is why I feel we are ready to progress further." Hiruzen said, taking out another cigarette and lighting it.
"Amagi, Nono, Nikoda, Ayumi, you each have been personally trained by Hyto and have shown great promise, which is why you will become leaders of your own team's. Just as Hyto did, you will personally train promising shinobi and run missions with them. You will be in charge of your teams and ensure each mission assigned to them will be completed at the same level of excellence you perform now." Hiruzen said, sitting back in his seat behind the desk.
Hearing this, the team was actually quite excited they had a chance to have their own team's and run missions. But they were all curious about Hyto's future.
"Hokage-sama, thank you so much for this opportunity. I'm sure like myself, we will all do our best to make sure we don't bring shame to you or our village. But, if you don't mind me asking, what's going to happen to Hyto?" Nono asked, bowing deeply to Hiruzen.
Over the time of being in Majin, Nono had started slowly coming out of her shell, no longer was she that sad, meek girl from the academy. But, she never lost her kindness or her passion to help others, which Hyto loved about her. When he forced them all to learn medical jutsu, Nono was by far the best, followed by Amagi and then Nikoda. Ayumi eventually got the basics, but she just doesn't have the patience.
"Now that Hyto has become a jounin and built up a decent reputation, he will become the new Majin Commander. Outside of my emergency missions, Hyto will be in complete control over Majin and how the division develops, same as he'd always been. The only difference now is he gets the job title, clearance and raise to go along with what he's been doing." Hiruzen said , sending a smile to a shocked Hyto.
Just like that, Hyto became the equivalent to the Anbu Commander, a position both Itachi and Kakashi have held at young ages. Some people even consider the Anbu as a higher rank than Jounin, as they serve the Hokage directly. Still, there was no good way to compare the two divisions.
"I know Hyto has given you all a communication seal he invented. It is his right to keep the seal private, but since he has given one to me, we will all be able to communicate at long distances. This is good because Hyto will be leaving the Suna battlefront and traveling around to the different battlefronts around Konoha. He will be going solo while Majin remains on the Suna front so that we don't lose our momentum." Hiruzen said, gaining sad reactions from the new Majin Captains.
Though Hyto was sad to be leaving his team, he was happy he finally got a chance to travel freely. His first goal will be to scour Ame as fast as he could in order to find Nagato and his mother before she is killed. Hyto didn't really care to much about Nagato, but if Hyto could make his mother indebted to him, then one day when he is older, he might be able to have a little Uzimaki baby!
Also, Hyto will have a chance to go see Shimogakure, which is his clans homeland and his future birthright. Yes, it was nothing but wasteland of ice and snow at the moment, but Hyto literally had the power to change whole environments at his fingertips. He could turn Shimo into a tropical paradise if he'd like to, and that would be his right as Daimyo.
After that, the meeting ended fairly quickly. But, before he left, Hyto made a request which shocked Tsunade. Hyto asked for both Nawaki and Kayama to join Majin. Sure, he was stepping on Orochimaru's toes by taking Nawaki from his team after he already took Nono and Ayumi, but he would make that sacrifice. Plus, he was fairly concern that Orochimaru didn't care and probably saw them as dead weight.
Even before he died, people had many conspiracy theories about the Naruto world, and Nawaki's death being very suspicious was one of them. Hyto didn't care about Dan, as even if he still died, Tsunade would still have him and Nawaki to mourn with and she wouldn't be alone like she was in canon.
After thinking for a while, Hiruzen granted Hyto's request, and Hyto assigned Nawaki to Amagi's team and assigned Kayama to Ayumi's. Nono was Hyto's current favorite to become his future wife, so he didn't want to risk Nawaki using his 'Senju Charm' and stealing her away. No point in making a rival for himself. And Kayama was good for Ayumi as they were both direct and objective-oriented, so they could accomplish their missions without any hitches.
Hyto didn't understand Hiruzen's idea of putting opposite personalities together, as yes, the team is "strong", but that's just because of the people. Almost always the team seems to fail. The same happened with Team 7 with Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke always fighting with each other. Sasuke even abandoned the village! Hyto was not taking an idiotic risk like that with his teams.
After saying heartfelt goodbyes to everyone, "accidently" groping Tsunade and getting hit because of it, Hyto was ready to leave.
Still wearing his Majin uniform, Hyto flickered towards the city in Ame. Hyto couldn't understand it, but somehow the constant rain seemed to always get harder the second he entered the walls of the Ame village. As he was running through the city, using the camo feature of his cloak, Hyto skid to a stop on the side of a building, as he finally found what he came to this miserable place for.
Down on the street, standing at the entrance of a humanitarian aid tent, was an absolutely gorgeous woman with cream-like skin and long, smooth red hair. Knowing that hair could belong to know one else but an Uzimaki, Hyto got excited and nearly flickered straight to her. Then a man with short black hair and black eyes came up from behind her and hugged her lovingly, and Hyto quickly recognized him as not only her husband, but more than likely an Uchiha as well.
'Is this why Nagato has the Rinnegan? Uzimaki and Uchiha blood mixing? Hmm, I wonder what will happen if I have a child with Uzimaki blood..' Hyto wondered to himself as he continued to observe the couple as a little red-headed boy came up and clung to the woman's side. This could only be Nagato himself.
Hyto didn't plan this far ahead, as he figured Nagato and his mother might be in an unfavorable position and be willing to come with him just to escape this awful place. Now, it looks as though they even give medical aid to those in the area, and Hyto began wondering if taking them away would doom more people to die.
But, Hyto quickly shook those thoughts away, as if she stays, Nagato's mother will die. Like Dan, Hyto doesn't care if the husband dies, as he only complicates Hyto's plans anyway. Hyto slightly felt that way about Nagato as well, as if he dies, the Akatsuki never gets formed and he never has to deal with Pain. But, if he could convince Nagato and his mother to join his clan, that would be a giant boost for the Rasugi clan.
Further down the road, Hyto saw a fast-moving commotion that he could use perfectly to his advantage. A big group of Suna shinobi and Ame shinobi were currently battling each other causing a lot of death and destruction in their wake. Seeing the danger fast approaching, the people on the street tried to flee pushing and trampling over each other in the mud, desperate to save their lives.
Seeing a chance, as the battle quickly caught up to the family, Hyto Earthbended the mud to open perfectly where the father was about to step, fracturing his leg because of his momentum, causing him to scream out in pain. Just as the mom and Nagato turned around to see the father, one of the Ame shinobi accidentally hit him with a rock jutsu, completely crushing him underneath a giant boulder.
Seeing their husband and father crushed right in front of them, Nagato and his mother froze, falling to their knees in despair. At the same time, Hyto realized his presence may have screwed things up a lot, as Nagato was about to be killed with his mother, Hyto flashed before them and shot a powerful arrow of explosive molten rock at the battle, nearly instant-killing them all by blasting them away unexpectedly. It didn't take long for Hyto to finish most off most of the survivors, but the others ran away, screaming that the Huntsman was coming to kill them.
Turning around, Hyto saw Nagato and his mother sobbing at the boulder where the father was crushed to death. Before, Hyto would've felt bad about not saving the man, but he was far too numb to death to have childish emotions like that. Walking up behind them, Hyto placed a comforting hand on the sobbing mother's shoulder until she looked back and realized it was only the young man that saved her.
"Thank you for saving my son, Nagato! I wouldn't know what I'd do if I lost him too!" said the mother, so emotional she could barely speak, but she still had enough manners to thank her savior.
"There's no need to thank me. Listen, I know this is sudden, but would you and your son like to escape this place? There is a new clan in Konoha, called the Rasugi clan that is currently looking for kind new clan members. There, you and your son will never have to be in danger again." Hyto said, trying to subtlety sell the Rasugi clan to them.
Normally he'd just openly invite her, but he can't risk revealing his identity as the Huntsman during the war, as then, his Clan would be in danger.
"Konoha? But, they'd never let poor people like us from another nation through their gates!" The mother said.
"Lady, what is your name?" Hyto asked suddenly, stunning the emotional woman.
"F-Fuso Uzimaki. And this is my son, Nagato Uzimaki. Why do you ask?" asked the woman, Fuso.
"Well I go by the name, The Huntsman. I'm a jounin with konoha and the new Commander of the elite team called Majin. If I vouch for you, they'll let you wherever you want." Hyto said, slightly flexing his new power in hopes of impressing Fuso. And judging by her reaction, it worked.
"T-The Huntsman?! They say he's just a boogeyman that konoha tries to scare everyone with. They say he's a monster that kills people in their nightmares and can't be killed. So, you can't be him, you just saved us!" Nagato said, in his child voice, trying to stand between Hyto and Fuso to protect her, but he was shaking scared the whole time.
Hearing this, Hyto let out a hearty laughter and ruffled Nagato's messy, wet red hair.
"It seems stories of me have gotten out of hand, but yes, I am The Huntsman. As I said, if you'd like to escape this hellhole and join the noble clan, Rasugi, just let me know." Hyto said, but then heard the sloshing of mud behind him and turned to see two familiar-looking children.
"C-can we go to? We don't want to live alone here anymore..." said the cute young girl with blue short hair that could only be the future bombshell, Konan.
Then he heard the sound of sloshing again and turned around to see Fuso bowing to him face down in the mud.
"Please, Lord Huntsman, even if I must stay here and sacrifice myself, please save my son and these children from this nightmare! I'll do anything you want, just please, save them!" Fuso begged loudly through sobs.
Fuso wasn't daft. It was clear Hyto was more interested in her and wanted her for something, but she was willing to do whatever she had to in order to make sure her son lived. Suddenly the rain stopped falling down on her and she felt strong hands lifting her from the mud.
"Fuso, as I already said, the choice is all yours. The clan can use all of the kind people they can, and these look like good kids. So if it is your wish, these children can also join you in joining the Rasugi clan. But, I think I'll hold you to your earlier promise for a little while. One could always use a favor from a beautiful woman." Hyto said smoothly, making Fuso blush slightly and Konan's whole face turn bright red.
Both Nagato and Yahiko we're too ignorant to understand the implications of what Hyto just said.
Still, seeing this as her chance, Fuso would even sign away her life to the devil himself to save her son, and so, just like that, Hyto added 3 future 'S' rank ninjas to his clan, as well as a chance to get some guaranteed play in the future.
Hey! So, the MC isn't really a good guy, as seen clearly with this chapter. Unless you're one of the few people he cares about or can benefit him, he's somewhat dark. The war has really changed him, like it does everyone, but he is still young and will continue to grow.
But, thanks to his experiences, Hyto will be more selfish, dark, and calculating
