Test

As the sun begins to dip below the horizon in konoha, in a seemingly ordinary house, Ryouma was dressing up to go outside.

Taking his pouch of blunted kunais and shuriken, he ties them in his belt. There was no use of them but he had to make it a habit to not forget them when he truly needed. He set out to training ground after locking the house.

Upon reaching the grounds, he waited for some time when Mikoto appeared but he was a bit shocked when clan head too appeared with her.

"Good evening, Tatsuma sama, Mikoto sensei."

Seeing both of them, he quickly greeted them and belatedly realised that situation was tad bit more serious for him.

Acknowledging his greetings with a "hn", clan head spoke while Mikoto stood at his side, seemingly intent on just watching the situation.

"Uchiha Ryouma, it has been about 10 months since we last met, I believe. You have grown spectacularly in this period as I see it. Your sensei had mentioned that you claim to have learnt both chakra flow and leaf concentration exercise and now you are asking for The Great Fireball Jutsu as given in clan rules, am I right?"

'What's with this guy's attitude?'

"Yes Tatsuma sama, I have indeed learned the chakra flow and leaf concentration exercise making me eligible for The Great Fireball Jutsu."

"You are truly a prodigy is you have managed to do that in just ten months, significantly faster than the previous record holder.

However this feat isn't enough to gain the Jutsu for you. The ones who learn the jutsu are recognised as adults in the clan, but that recognition isn't cheap enough to just depend on the jutsu.

You must show that you are talented in every aspect of ninja whether it is taijutsu, genjutsu or ninjutsu to be recognised as true adult.

The other members who are given a chance to learn this jutsu are all a lot older that you and have dedicated a lot of them to extra skills.

However you are still a child. Hence before giving you the scroll I must determine if you are worthy for it on top of testing whether you have truly learnt them or not."

Ryouma was a bit surprised and worried when he heard the word 'prodigy' but as clan head said further he became increasingly suprised.

'What this guy trying to do? Because whatever he is saying is absolute bull****. Maybe he just want to test my skills in combat. But this situation is not good. Maybe I was too hasty this time.'

So Ryouma replied.

"As you wish, Tatsuma sama."

"Good now come at me with all you have got."

Ryouma frowned, this was not going as he expected.

'Good thing is that I am a bit prepared. But I seriously need to think before I make a move from now. Well, let's focus here first.

This guy just wants to see my fighting skills, because if he wanted to truly test me, he would have chosen a test in which actual ninja skills like traps and subterfuge is required not 'come at me with all you have got'.

But his goal doesn't matter here, I need that scroll. So I will need to pass whatever he throws at me.'

There was a 10 meter gap between them. Between Tatsuma and Ryouma there was about 1 meter difference in height and 60 kg difference in weight.

Thankfully Ryouma just have to impress Tatsuma.

Ryouma took out a kunai in his right hand while he threw three shurikens from his left and charged at him while his left hand grabbed some prepared shuriken and remained hidden behind his body.

Tatsuma took out kunai of his own in his right hand and deflected all the shurikens. By that time Ryouma had reached Tatsuma and swung his kunai towards stomach which was blocked by Tatsuma. Undeterred Ryouma pulled back his kunai and threw the shuriken at Tatsuma while jumping back and throwing a kunai at his face.

Tatsuma attempted to deflect them but suddenly they changed their orientation from horizontal to vertical passing parallel to this kunai. Tatsuma eyes widdened as he immediately stepsided. Normally it wouldn't be enough to stepside with a point blank attack but this shuriken looked like it was aimed wrong.

'Maybe his aiming disturbs when he does that, quite comman with the rookies. Still it is a genin grade stuff even amoung elite Uchihas. Mikoto has mentioned he loved playing with shurikens but this is quite unexpected.'

Tatsuma looked up and tilted his head and his body a bit to right to dodge kunai.

Ryouma on the other hand had flanked to left with a new kunai in his right and a shuriken in his left hand, which when he threw to Tatsuma turned to two. But Tatsuma's keen vision saw one more in the shadow of the first one. He dodged the single one and deflected the other two but suddenly his eyes widdened as he saw two ninja wires extending from Ryouma's hand to him.

But Ryouma giving no time threw the kunai but it was not targetting him, it has another wire connected to it. It coiled with the second and streched it and got stuck in tree behind Tatsuma.

However Tatsuma has already figured out it's function and as expected the ninja wire tighened around his right hand and pulled it.

'It is quite a suprise to see this performed perfectly by a kid of this age. While it is taught at this time, it is more for getting used to it so that it can easily be performed with sharingan This boy is full of surprises, maybe I had hit a jackpot when I choose this boy. Hmm the binding is powerful and the placement of kunai which act as anchor is stable. And the first shuriken which had seemingly missed was the start of this binding and he used kunai just after that at a wide angle to distract me from seeing the bindings. Hmm, good and well done.'

While Tatsuma was admiring the binding, Ryouma had thrown three more shuriken at Tatsuma and was rushing to him again.

Tatsuma however easily grabbed a running shuriken by placing his finger at its hole and deflected the rest two shurikens and threw it back to Ryouma.

Ryouma who was a bit surprised seeing Tatsuma handling the shuriken as toys, hastly moved his kunai to deflect the shuriken but the shuriken changed its orientation just as it has done when Ryouma threw it. Ryouma was unable to react and got cut on his cheeks and drew blood.

'Huh, how did it cut. I am sure the blades were blunted.'

Stopping and looking back at the shuriken embedded in tree, he saw one blade which had blood on it was a bit deformed and sharp while others were normal. But seeing that his eyes widdened.

'I see he must have sharpened the shuriken while clashing it with others. But how in the hell did the same end hit me as well. It could be coincidence but it doesn't feel like it, when I am seeing him removing his right hand from the wire, which is now in pieces.'

"Alright, this is enough. You have proved that you have the skills in bunkinjutsu to have the jutsu but your other techniques must be lacking given you didn't use them or you didn't learn them.

However given your age, accomplishing this much is very impressive, so you will be provided with the scroll but it could be taken back too if you didn't maintain consistency with other shinobi arts too."

'What the heck do you expect in taijutsu from a three year old. He won't even feel it. Genjutsu and ninjutsu are not taught. Bunkinjutsu was the only thing I could use. But obviously I can't say that.'

"Thank you Tatsuma sama, I will not disappoint you."

"Now show me your chakra flow."

Tatsuma activated his sharingan as his eyes bleed red and three tomoe lazily spun in them.

Ryouma activated his chakra flow and chakra in his whole body began flowing. He had not yet made it subconscious but it was not the requirement.

"Hmm, looks like you have learnt it well. Now with the leaf concentration exercise."

Ryouma stopped the flow and picked up a leaf from the ground and held it up against his forehead and enloped the contact area with chakra.

The leaf stuck there, without any fluctuations, as if it was a part of his body. After a while Tatsuma nodded and Ryouma stopped providing chakra and the leaf fell.

"Very impressive. It seems you have grasped it as well. With that you have proved to be worthy of being given the scroll."

"Thank you Tatsuma sama."

Ryouma said with a small smile. Mikoto on these words brought out a small scroll and passed it to Ryouma, ruffliing his hairs and congratulating him with a geniune smile. But Ryouma could see a bit of sadness in it, which he didn't understand.

"Congratulations Ryouma for obtaining the scroll. It is a very impressive feat to achieve it in such a young age. However this it just a start, you will have to grow much more if you want to achieve your dreams. Consider this a start and work hard, alright."

"Of course, Mikoto sensei."
