Asuma Sarutobi glanced at Kakashi, who was so shocked he couldn't even speak.
He knew about Kakashi and Obito.
He also knew how confused and helpless Kakashi must feel right now.
His best friend had started the Nine-Tails Rebellion and killed his teacher and his teacher's wife.
Could any normal person handle that?
Kakashi had been through a lot and had faced many blows, so he had built up some resilience.
If it had been anyone else, they probably would have fainted by now.
Seeing Kakashi trembling and unable to speak, Asuma sighed and asked the question on his behalf.
"Old man, are you losing your mind? Didn't Uchiha Obito die a long time ago? How could he be behind the Nine-Tails Rebellion?"
"Uchiha Obito isn't dead."
The Third Hokage raised his hands, motioning for the three of them to sit down and talk.
Once they had all taken their seats again, he continued, "When Obito was buried under the rocks, everyone thought he had died, but it turns out he was saved by Uchiha Madara."
"Uchiha Madara?" Now it was Asuma and Kurenai's turn to be shocked. "Are you sure you're not losing it? What does Madara have to do with this? Don't tell me Uchiha Madara didn't die during his fight with the First Hokage."
"Asuma, watch your mouth and show some respect."
The Third Hokage lightly smacked Asuma on the head, a bit annoyed.
At home, Asuma could call him whatever he wanted, but in front of an outsider like Kakashi, couldn't he show a little more respect?
"The truth is exactly what you just said. Uchiha Madara didn't die. He used the Uchiha clan's ultimate eye technique: Izanagi, to trick the First Hokage, and he's been hiding somewhere in the ninja world to survive."
"What about now? Is Uchiha Madara still alive?"
"He should be dead by now."
"Dead? Thank goodness... I don't ever want to face someone that terrifying."
Asuma patted his chest, trying to calm himself down.
He glanced over at Kurenai, who also had a frightened expression on her face. He wanted to comfort her, but decided against it, since there were others around.
"Let's get back to the point. After Obito was saved by Madara, he became Madara's representative. According to White Zetsu, there's another shady figure beside Obito—Black Zetsu—who claims to be Uchiha Madara's will, helping him out. At the same time, they've been secretly carrying out some kind of plan."
The Third Hokage took a puff from his cigarette before continuing, "We don't know what their plan is, but it's definitely not for the peace of the ninja world. I'll just say this: if you see a man in a black robe with red clouds and a mask with an orange swirl, that's Uchiha Obito."
"So, do we need to capture Uchiha Obito?"
What the Third Hokage said was shocking, but Kakashi didn't question it.
He knew the Third Hokage would never lie about something like this.
He could only accept this painful reality.
"No need. Based on your strength, even if you meet him, I don't think you can defeat him."
"Old man, it can't be that serious. Is Obito really that strong now?"
The Third Hokage glanced at Asuma and said, "Don't forget how Obito started the Nine-Tails Rebellion."
Hearing this, the three of them responded in unison: "Mangekyō Sharingan?"
"Yes, Obito has awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, and his Mangekyō abilities are tricky."
At this point, the Third Hokage looked at Kakashi again and said, "Your Sharingan was given to you by Obito. Logically, he should have awakened the Mangekyō. It doesn't make sense that you only have three tomoe."
"Actually, I have noticed the awakening of the Mangekyō Sharingan, but I don't know how to activate it yet."
"Then you should work hard. If the chance arises, I will introduce you to Kagami. Maybe he can help you officially unlock the Mangekyō Sharingan."
"Kagami? Uchiha Kagami? Old man, you're getting more and more outrageous. I saw Kagami buried with my own eyes. Don't tell me he's not dead."
"The Kagami from our world is dead, there's no doubt about that. The Kagami I'm talking about is from forty years ago."
"Forty years ago?"
"Yes."
"Could it be that the light curtain can travel through time and bring people from forty years ago here?"
"You're not wrong to say that."
As he spoke, the Third Hokage explained that the light curtain connected to the Ninja World from forty years ago.
When Asuma learned that the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama, and his disciples would come every month, he felt excited again.
"Does this mean I can see the old man from forty years ago?"
"Asuma, what do you want to do?"
No one knows a son better than his father. When the Third Hokage heard Asuma say this, he realized Asuma was holding back something.
"Hehehe, you must have been younger than me forty years ago, right?"
The Third Hokage narrowed his eyes and asked ominously, "So?"
"So, from now on, we'll talk about our own matters. I'll call you Dad, and he'll call me Brother."
Hearing this, Kakashi forgot his sorrow and pain.
He turned to look at Asuma in shock.
If it weren't for his strange emotions, he would have really wanted to give Asuma a thumbs-up.
You really are bold.
Even if you think that way, don't say it in front of the Third Hokage.
Do you really think the Third Hokage is too old to fight?
Thinking this, Kakashi and Kurenai quietly stood up and stepped back a little to avoid getting caught in the chaos.
"Hahaha~"
The Third Hokage laughed angrily, pointing at Asuma. "Today, I will teach you that your father is always your father."
After saying that, the Third Hokage ignored Kakashi and Kurenai and gave Asuma an on-the-spot lesson.
"Ah~"
"Don't, old man."
"I was wrong; don't hit me in the face."
"Don't hit kidneys either. If they get broken, won't Kurenai be left a widow?"
Upon hearing this, Yuhi Kurenai wished she could join in.
What does it mean that she has to be a widow?
She hasn't even married Asuma yet. If he gets hurt, the worst that could happen is that she can just find someone else.
It's hard to find a three-legged frog, but there are plenty of two-legged men.
Yuhi Kurenai walks up to Kakashi and whispers, "Kakashi, how about we..."
Asuma, who was desperately trying to escape the Third Hokage's love advice, happened to hear this.
Remembering the silly things he just said about being a widower, Asuma instantly panicked.
"Kurenai, you can't leave me."
"Kurenai, I can't live without you!"
"Kurenai, how can I live without you?"
After lamenting a few times to Kurenai, Asuma shifted his focus to Kakashi.
"Good boy Kakashi, haven't you heard that a friend's wife shouldn't be bullied?"
"You're so nice; you're my friend's wife, and you're not welcome, right?"
"Just wait until I'm done with the old man, then I'll show you how I'll deal with you."
Upon hearing this, Kakashi didn't reply but felt like he was facing an undeserved disaster.
The Third Hokage became even angrier.
"Hahaha, good boy, you want to deal with me, huh?"
"I'll let you handle it."
"Watch this move of mine: two dragons out to sea, the whip of love!"
The Third Hokage jumped up, focused his chakra, and slapped Asuma's backside hard, causing Asuma to run away, clutching his head, and then fall to the ground, writhing in pain like a worm.
That scene was quite a spectacle.
Kurenai sighed helplessly and said to Asuma on the ground, "You're really overthinking this. I just asked Kakashi if he wanted to leave together. It's not as exaggerated as you think."
"I don't believe it. Kakashi is so handsome. What if you get tempted by him?"
"You know, when I first met Kakashi, he always wore a mask. Who knows if he has buck teeth or not?"
Kakashi: ???
"Oh yeah, I don't think I've ever seen Kakashi's true appearance. He might have pockmarks all over his face."
"Yes, yes, yes. Who knows if he has a sausage mouth?"
"I think there's a possibility."
Kakashi: That's enough.
