Zhu Xiang, also known as the Lieshan family, was born into a tribe with the surname Jiang in the Wei River Basin. His mother's name was Ren Si. Ren Si went to Huashan one day and saw a dragon whose body reacted immediately and gave birth to the Lieshan family.
Lieshan was young but clever. He could talk for three days, walk for five days, and know how to farm in three days. When he grew up, he became extremely skilled in agricultural matters. At that time, due to Fuxi's teachings, more and more people in various tribes learned the Eight Trigrams to predict the disasters that legal persons could avoid. The number of people was also increasing. There are fewer and fewer birds in the sky and wild beasts in the mountains that can be hunted, and the fruits that can be picked can no longer meet the needs of the tribe. Since becoming the leader of the tribe, the Lieshan clan has been thinking about how to solve the food problems of the tribe every day.
One day, a bird with a red body was flying in the sky and flying over Lieshan's head with a colorful Jiushui Gu. When Lieshan saw it, the Jiushuigu fell to the ground. When Lieshan saw it, he picked it up and buried it in the soil. Later, it grew into a piece of grass. . He rubbed the ears of grain in his hands and put them in his mouth and he felt that they tasted delicious. So he taught people to cut down the trees, cut off the weeds, and use axes, hoes, grass, and other production tools to reclaim the land and plant millet.
He found that the millet would mature once a year, so he led his tribe to burn the mountains for fields and plant the millet in the ground every year, waiting to harvest the millet slowly. Grains were the staple food of the tribe, and animal husbandry became a supplement for the surrounding small tribes. The people of the Lieshan Tribe did not need to risk hunting or go around to pick fruits. They only had to work hard to cultivate the farmland and be full. For a while, many small tribes who could not feed their tribesmen came to the Lieshan Tribe to join the Lieshan Tribe.
The story of Lieshan's teaching people how to farm finally reached Fuxi's ears. Fuxi was very happy when he heard that there was such a person and hurriedly found someone to call Lieshan. See if Lieshan is really a talented person. If Lieshan is really as talented as the legend, he will be ready to pass his position on to Lieshan. When Lieshan comes to Chen Fuxi, he teaches Lieshan a lot. Fuxi could basically answer all the questions. Fuxi was very happy and left Lieshan in Chendi as his assistant to handle some things. Fuxi slowly handed everything over to Lieshan.
On this day, Master Xuandu, a disciple of Taishang Laojun, the Great Chitian of Taiqing Realm, came to Chendi from Dachitian. Fuxi welcomed Master Xuandu into the house, only to hear Master Xuandu say: "Poor Dao was ordered by the teacher to come and tell the Human Emperor that he had accomplished his merits, passed on the throne to others and had retired to the Huoyun Cave to meditate." Fuxi was overjoyed when he heard this and made preparations for the succession. . After Master Xuandu completed the summons, he returned to Dachitian.
Fuxi summoned the Lieshan clan and said: "I will abdicate soon and go to Huoyun Cave to meditate. I have seen what you have done over the years. You are the most talented person among the human race. I am going to pass on the position of Human Emperor to you. go and prepare." After saying that, he asked Lieshan to prepare for the succession. A few days later, Master Xuandu came to Chendi again and said to Fuxi: "Hurry and set up the incense table. The teacher is coming." Fuxi hurriedly asked people to set up the incense table and prepare to welcome the saint.
After a while, thousands of auspicious auras descended from the sky, and a purple cloud came floating in. The Taiqing sage, Taishang Laojun, came riding on the ox and was led by the Golden Horn boy on a rope. Everyone hurriedly knelt down to greet the saint Fuxi, who took the lead and said: "Disciple Fuxi leads the leaders of the human race to see the saint Taiqing." I said: "There is no need to be more polite."
After everyone got up, they witnessed the ceremony of handing over the throne between Fuxi and Lieshan clan under the auspices of Saint Taiqing. When Fu Xi passed the throne to the Lieshan clan, the rays of light fell from the sky and shone on Fu Xi. After a moment, the rays of light dissipated and Fu Xi said to the Supreme Lord, "Brother, please come and pick me up."
It turns out that Fuxi had already recovered the memory of his previous life and attained the throne of emperor when the heavenly merits came to him. Fuxi turned around and said to Lieshan: "I am waiting for you in Huoyun Cave, my brother." After saying that, he bowed in the direction of Wangwushan and followed me to Huoyun Cave. When Fuxi attained the throne of the Emperor, Wangwushan once again sent down a meritorious deed and collected it, thinking to himself: "Fuxi has attained the throne of the Emperor, and now Shen Nong should have taken over, so we should prepare to accept him as his disciple."
However, it is said that Lieshan clan began to promote the art of farming to the entire human race after succeeding Fu Xi and becoming the emperor. The human race respected him as "Shen Nong" because he taught everyone the art of farming. And because Lieshan clan burned mountains to make fields, he had the virtue of fire. Known as "Emperor Yan".
After Shennong taught the people to plant grains, they did not just rely on the sky for harvest. They also taught the people to dig wells and draw water to irrigate the crops. At the same time, he also understood that pottery solved human daily utensils-vessels, pottery basins, pottery pots, etc.
With the emergence of agriculture, the fruits of human labor were already surplus. At this time, Shen Nong set up a market so that everyone could take the food and things they couldn't eat and use to the market for exchange every noon, and primitive commodity transactions emerged. He also transformed hemp into cloth so that people could wear clothes. He also cut wood into a bow to command the world.
Shen Nong's teachings say: "If a husband is strong and does not cultivate the world, the world will suffer from hunger. If a woman does not weave the world at that time, there will be cold. If she leaves her husband to cultivate her own wife and raise silkworms, she is the first in the world." Shen Nong has a very good way of managing tribes and governing the world. . He does not expect retribution and does not covet the world's wealth, but the world will be rich. Wisdom is valued by everyone and respected by the whole world. He is virtuous and righteous but does not reward, the people are diligent but do not punish, the evil and the right do not fight with anger, and the rich have no orders, and the people obey the majestic and do not kill the law, save the law and do not bother the people, all the people respect him.
At this time, people didn't know that not all the plants in the mountains and forests were edible, but some were poisonous. People were often poisoned to death. Shennong couldn't bear it, so he vowed to travel all over the world and taste all kinds of herbs, so that people would know what they could eat and what they couldn't eat. After Shen Nong made up his mind, he left the tribe and wandered around the wilderness in an attempt to taste all kinds of herbs.
Over the years, Shennong found many edible plants and was poisoned many times. The most he was poisoned was seventy times in one day. Although he relied on his strong body and rich knowledge of medicinal herbs to survive each time, the poison had already poisoned him. His body was damaged, toxins were lurking in it, and he could no longer withstand the poison.
On this day, Shennong was accidentally bitten by a venomous snake while collecting medicine. His body could have resisted the poison, but he did not expect that the snake venom would draw out the toxins lurking in it. However, Shennong was unable to bear the poison. Shennong couldn't stand it anymore. He felt like his stomach was churning, and his stomach and intestines seemed to be entangled together, and he was in pain like fire. At this moment, Shennong was still thinking about the problems of his tribe. "Am I going to die? I am not willing to give in! There are still many things that can be done." If you eat it, is it poisonous? No cure for snake venom has been found yet. What should the tribe do if they are bitten by a snake? "
Slowly, his consciousness began to blur. At this moment, Shennong saw a Taoist priest coming in auspicious clouds and landing in front of him. He fed himself a pill of elixir. After a while, he felt that he was better. Not only did all the poison left in his body disappear, but my body seems to be better than before. This Taoist is none other than Taoist Master Qingxu. At this time, Qingxu was thinking, "I have followed him quietly for so many years and nothing has happened. This time I saw him start to taste herbs, so I went back to Wangwu Mountain and used Yimu Ying to refine a magic whip for him. Unexpectedly, Something happened to him during this time. Fortunately, he figured out that he was in trouble and came over quickly."
After Shennong got up, he straightened his clothes, bowed to Qingxu and said, "Thank you so much, Immortal. I don't know where the Immortal is. I don't know where the cave is. The disciples will come to practice in the future." Qingxu helped Shennong up and said, "I am a poor Taoist from Jiuhua Mountain. Qingxu Taoist." Shen Nong was surprised when he heard this and said, "It turns out to be Master Tian." Qingxu asked, "Where are you going?" Shen Nong said, "The little emperor is full of lust when he sees his people eating poisonous weeds from time to time." Tasting all kinds of herbs in ancient times has taught my people what to eat and what not to eat. After experiencing this disaster today, I have learned that poisonous things in the world are not only plants and animals, but also the feeling of poisoning. Now I not only want to taste all kinds of herbs to let my people know. Knowing what is edible also means finding out the cures for various poisons."
At this moment, Qingxu suddenly realized in his heart, "It is God's will that Shen Nong be injured by the poison so that he will find a way to cure the poison." Thinking of this, Qingxu smiled and said, "You are only a mortal, how many years can you have in your life? Besides, there are some poisons in this ancient world." Even a poor man can't bear it, how much can you taste?" Shen Nong said with determination: "No matter how many poisons I can identify and how many herbs can be found to treat poisonous injuries, I will continue to do it. If the people would suffer less, my life and death would have been ignored."
Qingxu thought, "No wonder he can become one of the three emperors. He has the idea of being willing to sacrifice his own life for the people and not be afraid of the pain of being poisoned, which is something ordinary people don't have." Thinking of this, Qingxu said, "I am willing to accept you as my disciple and help you." How about identifying the herbs?" Shennong was overjoyed when he heard this and immediately wanted to become a disciple because he knew that after he had magical powers, there would be fewer things that could poison him, and he would be able to find more poisons and ways to cure them.
Qingxu helped Shen Nong up and said, "I'm not in a hurry to become my disciple right now. I'd better go back to the tribe first and wait for you to arrange everything in the tribe before becoming my disciple and practicing with me." After that, he took Shen Nong and flew to Chendi.
