Jerico and Doni walked hand in hand to class. They enjoyed talking about many things. Jerico could feel that it seemed like they would become close friends. Doni turned out to be the funniest person among the other friends. His goofy antics amused Jerico a lot.
On the way to class, Doni suddenly pulled Jerico towards the canteen. Even though the break was over. But Doni said he hadn't eaten anything during recess earlier because they were busy talking about ghosts in class.
Jerico could understand it because he was also the same as Doni. Actually, what Aluna said earlier was very insignificant and a waste of time, because in the end Jerico still didn't believe in ghosts. But he tried to respect that girl and still listened to the end.
While in the canteen, Jerico thought that there would be no one in the canteen except for the canteen guard because it was already class time. However, there were quite a number of students in the cafeteria.
Jerico's mind was still filled with the strange incident he had experienced in the toilet earlier. The incident felt so real, even though he was sure that he was just hallucinating. Because what he experienced was so unreasonable. Jerico tried to push the incident out of his mind.
Jerico lost his focus and accidentally bumped into someone's shoulder, Jerico got a sneer and piercing glance from that person.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to." Jerico immediately apologized to the boy.
"If you walk, use your eyes!" The boy who was accidentally hit by Jerico was angry and almost beat Jerico. The boy's behavior caught the attention of the people in the cafeteria. Luckily one of his friends prevented the boy and immediately pulled him out of the cafeteria because he felt uncomfortable being the center of attention.
Jerico didn't think about the boy any longer and quickly ordered food with Doni. When their orders were ready, they took a seat to sit and finish their food.
"Earlier, his name was Bima. He really thinks he's the greatest, that's why a lot of people don't like him." Jerico could see Doni's hateful look when he said that. But Jerico remained silent and continued to eat.
Moments later, Jerico saw Aluna enter the cafeteria with Wika. They only bought mineral water. It seemed Doni also knew that two of his classmates were in the cafeteria, so he waved to Aluna and Wika.
"Oh, you're already here." Aluna took a place next to Doni. So did Wika who chose to sit next to Aluna. Aluna opened the bottle of mineral water and drank it.
"Did you guys go to the cafeteria too? Isn't there a teacher in the class?" Doni asked.
Alana shook her head, "No. The teachers are at a meeting, so we are having a free class."
Jerico who was in front of his three friends just kept quiet and continued to eat his food. Because actually Jerico still felt awkward at this school and with his new friends. It's just that Doni was very kind to him so that gradually Jerico felt familiar with Doni. Even though they hadn't known each other for a day.
"Jerico how come you've been silent all this time?" Now it was Wika who began to speak. Jerico who realized his name was called only smiled awkwardly.
"Still shy huh? It's so cute like a girl." Aluna spoke openly and smiled seductively.
"Not really. I'm eating right now, so I can't talk." Jerico was evasive and gave reasons that were quite plausible.
Jerico had finished his food, he took a tissue on the table and cleaned his mouth. When he raised his head, he saw Doni, Aluna and Wika standing still with their heads down. Jerico called their names, but no one answered. He frowned and thought that his friends were playing a prank on him.
But looking around, everyone else was doing the same thing as the three friends were doing. Everyone was silent and didn't move at all. The air in the cafeteria turned cold. At that moment, he saw someone standing right next to Wika, and looking at him sharply. That sinister face that was covered with cuts looked extremely terrifying.
Jerico tried to get up and leave the canteen, but he felt his body stiffen. Even his head couldn't be moved in the slightest, so like it or not he had to keep looking at the person in front of him.
The man walked closer and was now choking Jerico's neck very tightly. Jerico couldn't fight it. His oxygen supply was running low, the man's strong grip caused Jerico a lot of pain. Jerico couldn't think straight anymore and he was ready to die right now.
Just as he thought that his life was about to be taken, a strong tap on his shoulder woke Jerico up.
"Jerico, what's wrong?" Doni asked panicked.
Jerico didn't answer Doni's question because he still couldn't think straight. His breath was panting, sweat was pouring down his forehead, and his face had turned blue. Jerico was grateful he survived death.
"Jerico what's wrong? How come you've been freezing like that? Struck?" Asked Aluna with an attitude that made Wika give a warning through her eye signals that Aluna was a little too far.
Jerico was still trying to catch his breath. He had experienced this strange incident twice. Jerico held his neck which still hurt a little, and made sure whether it was real or just a hallucination.
What he had just experienced felt so real, but it seemed Jerico was hallucinating again. Now Jerico was very scared because he couldn't distinguish between reality and hallucinations.
Jerico drank the mineral water that Aluna offered him. Initially he wanted to refuse, but his friends insisted, so like it or not he had to drink it. After drinking a little water, Jerico's feelings calmed down a bit.
"Teachers have finished the meeting. Let's go back to class." One of Jerico's classmates came to the canteen just to tell this to his friends. So kind, thought Jerico.
"Jerico, you really aren't sick, are you? If you really feel sick, just rest at the school medical room. Later we will excuse it to the incoming teacher." Seeing Jerico's current condition, made Wika think that Jerico was sick. Therefore she gave Jerico a suggestion.
"Yes, you look pale like that, it's better to go to the school medical room, Jer." Said Doni who agreed with Wika's suggestion.
After experiencing this strange incident which he considered a hallucination, Jerico's body felt weak and his head became a little dizzy. The pain in his neck had disappeared a while ago. It looked like Jerico really needed a little rest. Jerico nodded and was immediately escorted to the school medical room by Doni.
