Mundane Lives: Gazeera

Tap... Tap... Tap...

[Ezekail's Bunker- Marcelan's Bay]

"Oh, so you are here Alice." said Ezekail. An old man rummaging through a bunch of files, some old photos, and an album.

"I was rather getting a bit lonely." He continued. The cabin was ill lit, filled with archaic symbols written on the walls, while runes were floating around, some bright white, while others engulfed in darkness.

"Well it was to be expected, how far did you get. I hope you finished setting up the emblem." said Alice. She was unnaturally tall and lean, pale and thin. Her voice high yet coarse, her tone sharp.

"Impatient as always aren't you, of course everything is in place as it should be." chuckled the old man. He was a bit stout, an average physique, yet his eyes shone with brightness of wonder and keen eagerness as a child who was about to get his wishes fulfilled. Greyish white hair all ruffled up. He wore round golden frame glasses.

"Seems so, but it always is better to do some last minute checks." chimed Alice.

"Whatever." sighed the old man.

"Rune of Tiewas."

"Check."

"Sap of Yggdrasil."

"Check."

"Grime of Infestation."

"Check."

"Imprint and manuscript of Devianism."

"Check."

"Finally, records, albums any other means of memory to anchor your sanity."

Ezekail, the forlorn old man, after hesitating for some time,"Huuu... yes."

"Well then it seems we are good to go." murmured Alice.

"Wait a minute, how about you? did you gather everything we need?"

"Of course, Old man, you should trust your summon a bit more. I always complete my tasks."

"Yeah, r-right." Ezekail stuttered. "Maybe I am just too excited."

"So, Ezekail Theo Lingsay, are you ready to traverse the realm of the dead!" Alice's cold, sharp voice reverberated and turned heavy.

"Oh so we are doing it, can't believe that I am finally doing it, what should I say, what should I do, I-I-I, This is a historic moment, damn I should have brought a camera, I should have prepared a speech, I should have made some---"

"Ezekail!!!" reprimanded Alice. "We never believed that this was possible, even I didn't believe in this baloney. So it is natural we didn't rehearse for this moment. But what we need to do right now is focus. This might be rare occurrence and I don't think we will be able to restock our supplies to replicate this. SO GET YOURSELF TOGETHER!!!!"

"Yeah,... Yeah.... We should focus." Ezekail slowly losing his sanity." Initiate!, the machinations, rev up the sequence, feed the arcane... blood, my blood. Begin the ritual."

Ezekail chopped his hand off, and thrust his biceps into the arcane symbol of blot, blood gushed out, dark red blood, filling the archaic symbols, turned the once bright rune to pungent mix of dark and green.

"Oh, all prevailing god of death, bear witness to my pain, and allow me to thine glorious realm, while.... I..... BREATHE!!!!" Roared, The crazed lunatic of an old man, grinning and laughing, roaring and roaring, that deafening roar resonated throughout the bunker. Runes twisted and turned and shattered and pulverized, it churned with the warping archaic symbol and turned into sludge.

A pitch black sludge with a tint of green formed. The runes completely dissolved, the symbols calmed down. Ezekail's left arm completely sucked dry of blood.

"Alice, I guess this is a failure as well. I really wanted it to succeed. I even lost an arm. Huuu..."

Ezekail tried to pull his arm out of the blot, but it remained stuck," Well, I think I have no choice now, Alice chop off my arm completely."

"Alice?"

"Alice?"

"Alice!!!"

"Alice, Help me, quick cut off my arm, CUT OFF MY ARM!!!"

The sludge started moving, slithering, winding around Ezekail's arm eating it away, rotting it.

"AAAAHHHH!!!", Ezekail roared, as the sludge fed on his life force, sucked his blood, devoured his memory and will.

"ALICE!!!"

Alice just saw this scenario with keen interest, sneering and grinning.

"What the...", Ezekail was a bit unnerved.

Alice did nothing but reveal a rune.

[Rune of Cham]

"Huh, you bitch you..."

Alice broke into a shrill fit of laughter.

"You turned this into a summon. Huh", said the old man, his eyes were bloodshot red. "Alice you really got me, this was unexpected. But whatever it is you are trying to summon will surely regret it. Hell with that, you will regret betraying me."

Alice shuddered, as Ezekail Stomped his foot sending shockwaves of energy, bright, resilient energy of chaos. All the charms, talisman and rune of the bunker started breaking apart. A bright spark of light was launched to the sky, exploding like a beacon.

Alice's face twisted in rage. She formed a charm, blazing amber shrouded her arm. She stepped forward when-

"I AM NOT DONE YET!!!", Ezekail yelled. He snapped his fingers together, and ignited a charm of his own, pale blue flame, with white ambers. These flames combined together and focused at one point.

BOOM!!!

The whole chamber was set ablaze, shockwaves shattering every piece of equipment, burning 'every- everything' in it's wake.

Alice was thrown across the room her face charred, her arms pulverized and her ribs broken.

"Huuuu...", sighed the old man. "Today sure was a long day. Yeah... Yeah... I don't see myself living after this." An archaic symbol was hovering above his head.

[Mark Of Death]

Ezekail Grabbed the mark in his right palm and smashed it against his chest.

Zzztss... sparks flew across the room.

Ezekail's body warped in black, white and green. And then he just dusted away, leaving behind that dark sludge squirming and slithering.

It had grown a bit larger. Had dark green eyes glaring.

"Mother I-", Just as Alice came forward. The creature pounced on her feeding of her flesh and blood.

"Disappointing, couldn't secure a conduit for me, child. At least you have some use now." said the creature, slowly growing in size, flesh squelching, bones cracking. A being formed. Tall and grey, warped eyes, frizzled hair, big sharp claws.

A being of utter monstrosity, The mother of all Monsters Echidna.

[Echidna-Mother of all Monsters]

[Bureau of Abnormal Research (B.A.R)- Exodus Night City]

Tick Tick Tick.

The clock was just ticking away.

An official was just furiously typing a report.

There was an anomaly. Someone just released a ginormous amount of chaos energy and burst it like a fire cracker. It was no different than declaring 'come and get me'. A scouting team of five was sent. Status questionable, but they did send an energy imprint.

Now, because of all this shenanigan, this Officer has to work overtime, prepping up a proper report and finding the individual who matches the energy imprint.

"Umm... Let's see Ezekail Theo Lingsay, huh. Civil Profile, age 58, noted. Affiliations none. Para User status, huh, unregistered. Criminal records, assault and smuggling. I guess that's all there is to his profile.". The official closed the archive and finalized the report.

He revved up a core and put the sample energy imprint in it.

"Now that is out of the way, lets check out the aftermath. Residual energy analysis is a summon. Heh, things like these always involves summons. Let me guess it went out of control and that absurd outbreak of chaos was just a last-ditch attempt to either control or destroy it."

Suddenly, a candle blew out.

"Damn already a casualty."

Another candle flickered a bit. While three of them extinguished.

"Huh!!!, three of them got taken out together. Just what sort of monstrosity did you summon Lingsay. It will easily pass for a [Mist Level 5] disaster."

Whirrr...

A talisman appeared mid-air. Core completed its analysis on the energy imprint. The Officer tore the talisman apart.

Last candle flushed out.

Talisman contained one last message from the scouts. And the analysis report had only one result.

Both of them conveyed the same message.

"Summon/Monster of Disaster level [Rain level 6]."

[Bureau of Abnormal Research (B.A.R)- Exodus Night City]

"This is preposterous, totally absurd. An unregistered Para user, summoning a [Rain Level 6] disaster.", said the startled branch manager Gilbur Ramsay. "But then again, there can't be any other explanation, a whole squad got annihilated, and the Core just reconfirmed it."

"Hmm... What do we do now?"

"People can barely handle a [Rain Level 3] disaster. We are a bit shorthanded on offence."

"Officer Jake Spencer."

"Manager.", said the Officer.

"I am commissioning you for a top grade mission. Apprehend, seal or destroy this [Rain Level 6] disaster. Assemble a team. Meanwhile, I'll be fortifying the HQ. No one shall take down the Bureau of Abnormal Research."

"Yes, Manager.", Jack replied nodding at the manager

He walked out of the cabin while lighting a cigarette. Holding it in his mouth Jake exit the building and made his way towards the parking lot. He went up to a sleek black Maybach.

He slid inside the car and tapped on the screen interface over the dashboard.

"Mobilize the Clean-Up.", He spoke.

"Affirmative.", the screen responded.

"Thank you.", replied Jake.

Whirrr...

He started car engine and took out his phone. He drove his car out of the parking lot as he dialed a number. The phone clicked and Jake spoke-

"I have a job for you... Gazeera."

As the car zoomed across the night city of Exodus.

Hey there fellow manifestations, U can call me Xyrak. I will be filling u in on few key details of the story and also be your friend/narrator.

Key points for today's chapter are:

[Rune of Tiewaz]=Represents Challenge.

[Rune of Cham]=Represents plague

Disaster levels for spirits are based off their extent of existence and their influence in the given realm.

[Fog Level(1-6)]=These exist in illusionary to psuedo real state. Influence is Negligible, usually percieved as nightmares

[Mist Level(1-6)]=These exist in psuedo real to real

manifestations. Influence range from subpar to moderate and in some cases excellent. These cannot siphon off from sentient

obssession

[Rain Level(1-6)]=These are real manifested, properly built

spirits. Possess excellent control over the realm, and that control can go highly absurd depending on its nature. These can siphon off sentient obssession

Well that's all for today young manifestations.

[P.S.: Bureau of Abnormal Research I just wanted it to be shortened as B.A.R. ;p]
