Chapter 17

"Let's go." Klaus said.

He opened the trunk of the truck and looked at me.

"Rebekah, stay here until Stefan wakes up. Myra, come with me." He got out of the trunk and stood on the pavement. I stood up and he held out his hand for me to help me out. I ignored his hand and hopped down myself.

"Try not to run love." We walked into the high school, and as one of the doors opened, I saw Elena walk through it. She didn't look where she was going so she bumped right into Klaus.

"There's my girl."

"Klaus!" Elena said afraid.

She turned to run, but Klaus left my side and moved in front of her.

"You are supposed to be dead. What are we going to do about that?" He said looking at her. He looked at me and held Elena's arm tightly.

"Myra." Elena said looking at me. I looked at her in fear of what Klaus was going to do to her.

"Myra dear, go find Bonnie please." I sprinted away from him and started looking for Bonnie. I ran through the halls, until I saw Bonnie walking.

"Bonnie!" I yelled running up to them.

"Myra?" Bonnie said with a smile. She dropped what was in her hands and ran towards me. I smiled and hugged her.

"I'm so glad you're okay." She pulled away.

"What's happening? I thought Klaus kidnapped you."

"He did. But he found out about Elena. He has her now. Now he wants you. We have to save her." I told her. Suddenly, the men's bathroom opened and Matt walked out.

"Matt!"

"Myra!" He wrapped his arms around my neck and hugged me.

"You're back!"

"Yeah. I'm back. But no time for reunions." I said pulling away.

"We have to save Elena." I told them. I started running and they followed me into the gym. When I opened the doors, I saw Klaus, Elena and Dana, with her boyfriend, Chad.

"Klaus."

"Ah, wonderful Myra. You brought Bonnie. Now we can get started."

He looked over to Dana.

"Ah, Dana, why don't you relax? You and Chad sit tight." He turned to Bonnie.

"I assume you're the reason Elena's still walking around alive?"

"That's right. If you want to blame someone, blame me." Bonnie said stepping forward.

"Oh, there's no need for blame, love. Just your witchy interference seems to have caused some undesirable side effects. And since you caused the problem, I'm going to have you find the fix." He said with a smile.

Just then, Rebekah entered with Tyler.

"Get off of me!" Tyler said trying to get out of her grip.

"Hush now." Rebekah said annoyed.

"Ty." I said looking at him.

"Myra." He said surprised.

"I'd like you all to meet my sister Rebekah. Word of warning ... She can be quite mean." Klaus said.

"Don't be an ass." Rebekah said throwing Tyler into Klaus's arms.

"Leave him alone!" Elena said.

"I'm going to make this very simple ... Every time I attempt to turn a werewolf into a vampire hybrid, they die during the transition. It's quite horrible, actually." Klaus said.

He bit into his wrist and made Tyler drink his blood. I put my hand over my mouth in fear for my friend.

"I need you to find a way to save my hybrids, Bonnie. And for Tyler's sake.You better hurry." He then snapped Tyler's neck. Elena, Matt, Bonnie, and I gasped in shock. Klaus smiled.

"You didn't have to hurt anyone." I told him shaking my head.

"Of course I did sweetheart. It's the only way to get what I want." Klaus said with a smile. He then took my wrist and ripped my vervain bracelet off.

"No!" I yelled. He grabbed me by the face and made me look into his eyes.

"Now, you will stay here, and stay put until I tell you to do otherwise." He said compelling me.

"I don't know why I didn't do that from the beginning."

"He killed him." I heard Matt say looking at Tyler.

"He's not dead. Klaus's blood will turn him into a vampire." I explained to him.

"And if Bonnie's successful, he'll live through his transition. Go on, then. Go and fetch your grimoires and enchantments and what-not. I'll hold on to Elena ... for safe-keeping." He said grabbing Elena's arm.

Elena made a sign to Bonnie and she left with Matt. Rebekah looked at Elena.

"So this is the latest doppelganger. The original one was much prettier." Rebekah said causing me to roll my eyes.

"Enough, Rebekah. Take the wolf boy elsewhere, would you?" Klaus said annoyed with his sister.

Rebekah dragged Tyler behind her by his arm and left. Klaus looked at Elena.

"Just ignore her. Petty little thing." As Elena comforted Dana, I stood in the same spot I was. Just then, the gym door opened.

"Stefan .." I heard Elena say.

"Klaus." Stefan said ignoring Elena.

"Come to save your damsel, mate?" Klaus asked.

"I came to ask for your forgiveness. And pledge my loyalty." Stefan said.

"Well, you broke that pledge once already." Klaus said standing up.

"Elena means nothing to me anymore. And whatever you ask of me..I will do." Stefan said causing Elena to feel upset.

"Fair enough. Let's drink on it. Kill them. What are you waiting for? Kill them." Klaus said referring to Dana and Chad.

"No! Stefan, don't. He's not going to hurt me. He already said ..." Elena was cut off by Klaus hitting her in the face, hard, causing her to fall to the floor.

Stefan rushed over to Klaus, his fangs out. Klaus grabbed him by the throat.

"She means nothing to you? Your lies just keep piling up." Klaus yelled.

"Let her go! I'll do whatever you want, you have my word!" Stefan said trying to breath.

"Your word doesn't mean much. I lived by your word all summer, during which time I never had to resort to this ..." Klaus said meaning compulsion. I shook my head.

"No ..." I yelled.

"Stop fighting." Klaus said.

"Don't do this, don't do this." Stefan said shaking his head.

"I didn't want to. All I wanted was your allegiance. Now I'm going to have to take it." Klaus said.

"Don't ... Don't .." Stefan said shaking his head. Klaus compelled him.

"You will do exactly as I say when I say it. You will not run, you will not hide, you will simply just obey."

"No. Stefan!" Elena yelled.

"Now kill them. Ripper." Klaus said. Stefan vamped out, rushed over to Dana and killed her by drinking her blood. I looked away, not wanting to see it. We were still in the gym. Well, it was just me and Stefan now. You see, Klaus compelled Stefan to obey him, and now he's putting the compulsion to the test. And in Klaus's sick twisted head, the best way to do that is to make Stefan feed ... on me.

There was a timer set for twenty minutes, and when that buzzer goes off, Stefan has to feed on me. And if I try to run, he has to fracture my spine.

Right now, six minutes remain on the clock. Stefan continued to pace back and forth in front of me.

"Can you stop pacing please? You're making me dizzy." I said standing up.

"Yes because whether or not you are dizzy is at the top of my list right now." He said sarcastically.

"Stefan, you can control this. When that buzzer goes off, just..just drink from me." I told him.

"You don't get it. I can't stop, Myra! I'm a ripper! A ripper doesn't stop! I listen to the words that come out of your mouth, and all I hear is the sound of your heart pumping blood through your body. And when that clock ticks down ... I'm going to have to feed on you. And you want to know what's worse? I'm not going to be able to stop. " He said angrily.

"I don't believe that. You can fight it. You just have to want it bad enough." I said walking up to him.

"Why? Why do you believe in me? After everything I've done, why do you still care?" He asked me.

"Gosh, are you so blind that you can't figure it out?" I asked him annoyed.

"Stefan, you have been there for me through literally everything since I moved to Mystic Falls. You are one of the only people that know the real me. Why do you think that is? Huh? Because the last person I opened up to was Liam. So put one and one together Stefan and answer your question. Why do I still believe in you? " I asked crossing my arms.

"Then at the bar, why did you say that nothing could ever happen between us?" He said moving towards me.

"Because of Elena." I told him.

"She's one of my closest friends. And after everything that you and I have been through, you owe it to me to respect that decision."

"You know what, you're right. You're right. I owe you that. Actually, I owe you everything. Because through all of this, you are the one thing that has kept me from giving up, from turning it all off. " He said causing a tear to slip out of my eye. I looked at him shocked.

"But I can't help what I am, Myra. The more blood that I get, the more I want, and if I get so much as near yours ... You are dead." He said causing me to panic. As time went on, there were only sixteen seconds left.

"Myra, you're going to have a run."

"But Klaus said that if I run ..." He cut me off.

"I know what he said, but if you stay, it won't matter. Myra, please, please, please. Myra, there's no other way. I can't loose you .." He said looking at me.

"You won't loose me, Stefan..But there is another way, Stefan. It's for you to fight." I told him. A buzzer sounded, signifying that the time has run out.

"Fight, Stefan. Don't give up."

"I can't hold it." He vamped out and rushed at me. I screamed and moved out of the way as he rushed past her.

"Myra, run! Go!" He said screaming.

"I'm sorry Stefan." I picked up a broom and broke it in half. He rushed at me, but I staked him in the abdomen, causing him to groan in pain.

"I'm so sorry." I said holding the other end of the broom as I ran out of the gym. I started running throughout the school, until I bumped into Klaus.

"Well well well.look who's been a bad girl." He said annoyed. He grabbed me by the arm and dragged me to the cafeteria, where Stefan was, still with the broom in his stomach.

"Now this is fascinating. I've never seen this before. The only thing stronger than your craving for blood is your love for this one girl. I had always thought you loved her more than Elena. Good to know I was right. Now , why don't you turn it off? " Klaus let go of me and sat on a nearby table.

"No!" Stefan said, still with the stake in his stomach.

"Come on. Your humanity is killing you. All the guilt must be exhausting. Turn it off." Klaus said trying to convince him.

"No!" Stefan said.

"Stefan ..." I said shaking my head.

"You're strong." Klaus said. He stood up and pulled the stake out of Stefan's body.

"But you're not that strong. Turn. It. Off." Stefan looked at Klaus. I titled my head awaiting a response from Stefan.

"No!" Stefan yelled pushing Klaus away. But Klaus pushed him against the wall.

"Turn it off!" Klaus yelled. Stefan's face and look changed.

"What did you do?" I asked shocked.

"I fixed him. But I think a test is in order, don't you?" Klaus said. He walked up to me.

"Stay still love." He compelled. I nodded and stood still.

"Ripper ... Perhaps you'd like a drink .. from the witch's neck?" I looked at Stefan's face change. My eyes widened, and he rushed over to me and bit her neck. I screamed out in pain, before everything went black. I felt my body ache as I started to wake up, especially my neck. I opened my eyes and saw I was in a hospital room. I felt myself being unhooked from the IV. I looked to my left and saw Damon there.

"Damon ..?" I said weakly.

"Hey." He said.

"Elena ... Where's ..." I trailed off.

"She's fine. She's in the car." He told me. I sighed and closed my eyes. He put his arm underneath me and lifted me off the bed. I put my arms around his neck and closed my eyes, as he carried me out of the room.

***time skip**

I was in my room in the Boarding House. I was packing my things, because I did not want to stay here anymore.

"Oh ... didn't realize you were still here ..." I recognized to be Stefan say. I turned around to see him standing there, arms crossed and a smirk plastered on his face.

"What are you doing here?" I asked turning back around to pack my things.

"Last I checked, I live here. And now that Klaus is gone, he wants me to stay here and keep an eye on Elena." He said walking into the room. I sighed and walked into the bathroom, grabbing my toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

"So this is you're plan. Ignore me the whole time."

"Sounds pretty good to me." I said bringing those things to my bag. I turned to grab my jacket from the closet, but Stefan was standing right in front of me. I gasped in surprise but sighed.

"Stefan..can you move..please?" I asked him not wanting to make eye contact with him.

"Oh, Myra ..." He said moving the hair out of my face, exposing the bandage on the side of my neck from where he bit me. I looked at him anxiously.

"Don't be scared. I'm not gonna hurt you ..." He paused before looking into my eyes.

".again." He said with a smirk.

"But you should probably bandage this up better." He said taking his finger and wiping something from right under my bandage. He pulled his finger back and it had a little bit of my blood on it. His face vamped out he sucked the blood off of his finger.

"Ahhh..delicious." He said as his face turned back to normal.

"What's going on here?" Damon asked from the door. I looked away from Stefan, who was very close to me.

"Nothing Damon. Why don't you mind your own business and go back to stealing my ex-girlfriend?" Stefan asked turning to Damon.

"Why don't you just leave Myra alone? She doesn't want you here." Damon said walking into the room. Stefan moved away from me and turned back to Damon.

"You're right. I should leave right. Just leave Mystic Falls and never come back." Stefan said.

He turned back to me.

"Is that what you want?"

"I want this Stefan to be gone, forever. I want the Stefan I know to come back." I told him grabbing the last of my clothing and putting it in my bag. I picked up my bag and looked at Stefan.

"But if this Stefan is going to be here, I don't want to be around him." I said walking past him and towards the door, where Damon was standing.

"Can you give me a ride to Elena's house?"

"Yeah." Damon said nodding.

I gave him a smile before walking downstairs to where Elena was. She stood up and looked at me.

"Let's get out of here." I told her. She nodded and sighed before grabbing her bag. Damon joined us outside at the car. I walked to the passenger seat. I put my bag on the car floor and looked at the house, only to find Stefan standing in the front door threshold, leaning against the door frame. I sighed and got in the car as Damon started to drive. When we got to the house, I saw my dad sitting on the front steps. I smiled as tears came from my eyes. I got out of the car, leaving everything behind.

"Dad." I said causing him to look up.

"Oh my God..Myra." He said standing up. I smiled and ran up to him, wrapping my arms around his neck. He wrapped his around my waist and picked me up, and I sighed never wanting him to let me go.

"I'm so happy you're okay." He put me down.

"If something had happened to you ..."

"I'm okay dad ... Well, I will be. Everything will be okay." I told him with a smile. He brought me in for another hug. As we continued to hug, I heard the front door open. I opened my eyes and saw Jeremy there.

"Jer ..."

"Myra." Jeremy said with a smile. My dad pulled away from me so I could give Jeremy a hug. I smiled, and Jeremy brought me in for a hug.

"You're okay." I nodded and smiled. I pulled away from him after a couple moments and turned to Damon, who was walking with Elena towards us.

"We're all gonna be okay." I told them with tears slipping from my eyes.

"Because we have each other. And that's all we need." Elena nodded and smiled before Jeremy, Elena, my dad, and I all gave each other a group hug. Damon stood there awkwardly before I pulled his arm towards us, making him join the hug. He gave me a smile, which I returned.

"We're gonna be okay."
