CHAPTER 15

I heard the door to my room open and saw three people heading into the room and out of the three, I could recognize two of them. Who were the doctor and sergeant Leon? Luckily all the stuff I bought gets transported to my storage.

"Hello, Astin."

"Hello," I replied

"Astin doctor Jason here told me about what happened. That your body had 20% poison still not removed from your body and it suddenly disappeared. Am I right?"

"Yes, sir, to be honest. I don't know how that happened."

"You don't?" he said, surprised. "Well, it doesn't seem you're lying. In one of a million people, Astin will be born with mutations in their cells and body. This will give them super strength and speed and be immune to poison to a certain degree."

"So, I'm one of those mutated. Is that what you're trying to say?"

"Yes, I'm here to make an offer for you." Then he raised his hand, and I saw the ring on his hand glowing, and then several blue scrolls came out.

"As you can see, there are three hundred blue scrolls. Those are all the blue scrolls that the military has. If you join us, you will get a blue scroll. But that's not it. If your power level rises to the A rank, you will be given the rank of a general and get an upgraded scroll and many other privileges." both the doctor and sergeant were shocked when they heard what the man said. Even I was surprised by what I heard.

Forget about the blue scrolls. Getting the rank of a general when I got to the A position. only those at the S rank were given this rank, not to mention getting an upgraded scroll which is almost the same worth as a red scroll, maybe even more than a red scroll. These upgrade scrolls help with making the speed of increasing the power level of someone ten times faster than the average speed.

"So, what will it be, Astin? Will you accept the offer?"

"I'm sorry. But I will have to refuse."

"May I know why?"

"I want to know how strong I will be without an ability, sir, even though you offer me a chance to be a general. I think I like to live my life freely without taking orders from others."

"Very well." said the guy after a moment of silence.

"You might hate me for this, but it's the protocol. Please put your hand on this orb."

I felt uneasy for a second. But I ignored that feeling and placed my hand on the orb. After that, a horrified look was drawn on my face. this was an orb that showed the power level of the person that placed his hand on it. But the problem is it didn't show the same power level I had on my watch. But it showed my absolute power level.

"I'm sorry. But the mutated can show a fake power level on those normal watches, which is why we created this special orb and watch." after he said that, a watch appeared on his other hand.

"Forgive me, Astin. But I have to follow the rules. But you don't have to worry about anyone looking down on you from now on." "And I have to say, for you to be a B rank without having an ability is quite impressive. You are the first mutated human that got to this point."

"I will be leaving now. Please replace his watch and fix his file too." "Just so you know, Astin, even if you accepted my offer, I would've done the same thing."

[He is saying the true Astin. You don't have to be too mad at him.]

Even though James said that, I was still mad at the guy. But it is good in some way. Sergeant Leon approached me, took s small device, scanned the watch in my hand, removed it, and gave me a new look. When I wore it, it activated, showing me my absolute power level, not the fake one. I tried changing it, but it didn't seem to work, so I gave up.

" Well, I'll be leaving now still have to fix your file. I'll see you in class, Astin." said Sergeant Leon, then he left the room, leaving the doctor and me alone.

"So, what will happen to my doc."

"You might be sent to an elite school that one of the five monarchs. There is a chance you will be sent to the one controlled by our monarch. The monarch of balance."

The five monarchs are the five people that saved all humanity during the war. It is said that their abilities are the best out there, and only the most talented and robust gets to join them, and I got an offer from the monarch of balance since only he can let people skip ranks and get a general rank this fast.

"Anyways, you will have to wait and see what your fate will be tomorrow, kid. Good luck." said the doctor before leaving.

"Wait, doc!" I shouted

"What is it, kid?"

"Is there a computer in my room?"

"So, you want to waste your time playing? it's near the disk over there."'

I looked at where he pointed and wanted to clarify my intentions. But he left before I could do that.

I went straight to the computer, checked the market, and searched for C-rank monster cores, and I was lucky to find some. Without wasting any time, I bought three cores of what seemed to be a core of an eagle-type monster and I saw them teleport on the small pad near the computer.

"James."

[Think you're buying the damn thing, Astin.] said James, and I did what he just did.

And then, for some reason, what happened next was unexpected. Instead of getting the weapon, I got a blueprint showing the picture of the weapon.

"you've got to be kidding me."

[snap back to reality, kid. This system is not the same as those you see in novels. Now hold the damn thing.]

I did as James said, and my vision went black as I held the blueprint.
