Release the Kraken! (Part 1)

As the boats got further from the shore into the open sea, they maintained their triangle formation. Commander Garret took the lead and gave the order to stop after a few moments.

Minutes passed, and the people were looking from the side of the boats with expectant faces, searching for anything that looked strange in the water.

The day was quite sunny, with only a few clouds in the sky, making the water clear and easy to see. However, there was no sight of anything strange, as all we saw were common fish.

"It won't come out…" said Vespera, making the group on my boat turn to her in confusion.

"Why? Isn't this a big enough prey?" I asked while crossing my arms.

"It's focusing on assimilating the demonic energy. Basically, it wants to evolve first…" she answered.

Commander Valentina spoke up. "Could we stop it from evolving?" she asked my companion.
