Chapter 8: You are so Clever !

Paula because speechless when she realized that Mia was not understanding what she was trying to explain to her.

" Mia, How old are you ? " Paula asked crossing her arms around her chest.

" 22 " Mia answered.

" You look and sound younger than your age. I am surprised you have no idea of what I am saying. Are you still a virgin ? " Paula asked.

" mmm " Mia nodded confidently.

" Wow...Its been long since I heard that. How did you make it ? " Paula asked.

" My grandma always tells me to abstain. " Mia answered.

" You think ours don't ? You are just lucky men from your place are nit horny. " Paula spoke and went back to the subject.

" Okay, Crushing is just being attracted to someone and sometimes it ends with having sex. " Paula said.

" But I thought sex is only meant for marriage. " Mia argued.

" My dear, I am giving you only a month. Since you are in the city, You will see that these two worlds are different. " Paula said and picked the watering pipe again.

" I won't be like anyone here. My grandma told me alot of things that I must keep. " Mia said.

" Mia, Just be careful with everything you do here. okay ? " Said Paula.

" Of course I will.." Mia said.

" Lucas !! " Paula said the name admiringly making Mia to wonder. So she really wanted to sleep with her boss' son.

" Paula, I will go back inside. " Mia said and left.

It was in the evening when Lyon and George came back home. Lyton had told George about Mia and they hoped to meet her that evening.

When they arrived Ava welcomed him with a hug as always. The first thing George asked was where Mia was.

" I had sent her to the room to have a rest. Let me go get her right now. " Lyton said.

Mia had gone back to the room and she sat on the bed in boredom. She called her grandma and told her about the experience and she was just done when Lyton came to the room.

" Mia.." Lyton called her name with a smile.

Mia got up immediately on seeing her. " You are back ? " Mia asked.

" Yes. My father wants to see you right now. Come with your design books. " Lyton said.

Mia went to her bag and picked her old books that had the designs.

The two went to the living room where George was seated with Ava. When Mia saw him she felt nervous. He was in a full gray suit and he looked elegant too.

" Good evening.." Mia greeted politely.

" Good evening..Have a seat ! ",George said to her.

Lyton smiled to encourage her and Mia sighed while she sat down on the Sofa.

" What is your name ? " Goerge asked in a serious tone.

" Mia Alinda. " She answered.

" Mia ? " George inquired.

" Yes sir.." She answered.

" Let me have a look at your designs. " George said.

Mia gave him the old books which he opened and looked through quietly. He took his time to see through all of them and looked at her gain.

" Did you draw them yourself ? " George asked with a keen look.

" Yes sir.." Mia answered.

" What inspired you to draw them ? " George questioned.

" There's an old seamstress who is our neighbor. I always visited her whenever I was free and she always sowing clothes for different people. So, I watched her sketch them and i would sit down and sketch from different things i see around me. Like leaves, flowers, and different things. " Mia explained.

" Is it true you didn't go to school ? " Goerge asked.

" I stopped from Senior two when my grandmother got ill because I had to take of her and since then I never went to school again. " Mia said.

" Well,...You sound clever. " George finally put a Pleased smile on his face which relieved Mia.

" Thanks for the good compliment Sir. " Mia smiled back.

" I am...Your designs are good. I have liked them. " George said maintaining his pleased expression.

" Really ? Does this mean she can start working ? " Lyton asked .

" Of course. Let her start working tomorrow. " George said.

" Thank you so much Sir. " Mia said with a beam.

" I am...I didn't ask about your family. " George spoke.

" I only live my grandmother. My parents died when I was little. " Mia said. There's no way she could say that her mother abandoned her when she was little.

" Ooh, Sorry about that. But you are a very talented girl. You grandma must be so proud of you. " George said.

" Of course. I am trying my best to be the best grand daughter ever. " Mia said.

" Good..." George said and got up.

" I will leave the rest to Lyton. " George said and left.

Lyton jumped in triumph and shouted. " Mia..Dad approved you. " She said.

Mia was so happy too but all she could do was watch Lyton with a smile.

" All thanks goes to you Lyton. " She said

" Let me call Claire and ask her to organize your room. " Lyton spoke picking her phone.

" My husband rarely appreciates people but you have made it. " Ava too said to Mia.

" I am just lucky I guess. And your family is so kind to me. I don't know how I can start appreciating but thank you so much.." Mia said.

"You don't have to thank us. It is your talent that enabled you to be here today. " Ava said.

" Mia, Its dinner time already. Join us to the table. " Lyton said holding her hand and she was taken to the dining table which had over five different dishes.

' What a waste, How could they have all these dishes for just dinner ? '

Mia asked in her head. Lyton got up and begum filling their plates which after she went to call George to come and join them..

" Where is Lucas ? " George asked on noticing his absence.

" He went to visit Mark. " Ava said.

" Okay, Lets enjoy our dinner. " George said minding less about that.
