Goblin Battle Royale 2

Today is the fifth day. Today is the halfway point of the battle royale. There are already some goblins who show signs of evolution. This must be the influence of Arthur's mana otherwise from the calculations we made before this should happen a few days later or at the end of the battle royale. His mana is completely on another level compared to anything I ever saw. It is actually very close to the mana of the world.

We didn't think that his mana would have any effect. This is a mistake on our part but it's a welcome surprise. With this, our purpose of evolving monsters can work even better than we want. Unfortunately, my mana pool isn't as big as his. So I can't really help with the mana situation. I mean his mana pool is enormous. I myself tried the monster recreation formation and before I exhausted all of my mana I was only able to create ten goblins.

Meanwhile, he can create a hundred thousand in just a half-day. That big of a mana pool should take a month to recover but he recovers it in just a half-day. It is ridiculous. His power and recovery rate can't be compared to anything on this earth. I don't really imagine how he achieved all this. He is just amazing!

Now let's return to the goblins. I once again chose Blux to watch. His sword was still in relatively good condition. All he did was, behead goblins in one smooth move. Compared to warrior goblins from Gienba's tribe, he is improving really slowly. He needs to improve himself to be able to stand against those warriors. If he could use magic he would have some chance but none of the goblins can use magic so far.

From the dawn till noon Blux killed four wandering goblins. The goblins are slowly moving towards the center of the floor. This is also the work of the command Arthur gave from the system interference. We need them to get close to each other to keep this short and make it end. Otherwise, it might not end at all. This floor is simply too large for goblins.

Blux moved towards the south of the forest. He isn't following the same direction most of the goblins follow. He might be trying to attack the goblins who are trying to reach the middle of the forest. It can be both a good and bad idea. If he can find some alone wandering goblins that's good but if he comes across a large group of goblins then he will most likely die. He can't take more than five goblins at once. The numbers can easily overwhelm someone without any super or extraordinary abilities.

The path he is following is dangerously close to one of the ambush spots of the Renka's tribe. Can he survive against their perfect ambush? He slowly walked along the rough trail. His cautiousness might help him to survive this ambush but he doesn't have any armor, a single arrow to the vital point can easily kill him. Still, he will need more than cautiousness to survive this time.

When Blux was inside the range of the goblins who were hiding on top of the tree, three goblins aimed at him. They were ready to release their arrows to kill him. The distance was still far so the arrows might not kill him and they waited until he got closer. Five meters until they could get a clear shot. Blux slowly walked closer to them without knowing there was an ambush. Three meters and one of the hiding goblins got too excited and release the arrow.

"What!"

Blux deflected the arrow with his sword. After he deflected the first arrow other goblins start shooting their arrows too. Blux deflected almost all of them an incredible reflex. He only missed one arrow and that one pierced his shoulder and stuck there. His reflex was something you wouldn't expect from an ordinary goblin, scratch that it has to be somewhat experienced warriors or adventurers that could do it. This is amazing!

I felt the excitement rising in my chest. We are getting closer. It's tiny steps but we are getting there. The Blux is definitely going to evolve if he survives. I intervened and teleport him to somewhere safe. He would only die there and I don't want that to happen. He is far too precious to lose.

"We finally have a certain candidate for the evolution!"

"Really? That's awesome!"

"Yes. And we are only on the fifth day. Wait, Arthur?! When did you get here?"

"Just now. You seem to be enjoying the battle royale."

I briefly explained what happened so far to Arthur. He calmly listened to everything I said. His yellow eyes were completely focused on me and he looked so charming. Kyaa! He's so handsome! I jumped on him to kiss him but he grabbed my head and put me back on my seat. I couldn't help but pout.

"You are no fun!"

"Look, we can do all of that, at night, if you want. But now we have to focus on the work."

"Really? You never respond to my feelings before this clearly. What changed?"

"Nothing changed. I don't want to hurt you and I also have some feelings for you but I wanted to wait until you get rid of the urges of your instincts. I want to build a relationship based on the pure feelings that aren't influenced by anything other than ourselves."

"Arthur... I know that my urges are getting worse lately but they are part of me, you know. I am who I am. My instincts and urges are part of me just like my pure feelings. And I feel those urges for you because I already have some feelings for you. I wouldn't just feel them for anyone."

"I just don't want you to feel regretful in the future. It's been so long since I have felt... these feelings for someone. I love you, Ellie."

"I love you, Arthur. I have never been this ready."

He smiled at me and kissed me on my lips softly. His eyes never left mine. I felt a warm feeling rush through my body. It was an incredible feeling. Ah, I think I will get addicted to this. I passionately kissed him back and lost track of what happened after that.

(Arthur's POV)

I woke up at the midnight. We lost ourselves after that mutual confession. It's kind of embarrassing, I'm almost three hundred years old and I lost my reasoning in the midst of lust. It wasn't just lust... I couldn't contain my love for her. It was already hard to do but when she was so excited while talking I just couldn't hold it anymore. Her smile was too powerful for me.

Now that I look back, I never felt this much emotion for anyone before. It's just different. I had girlfriends and lovers back in my previous world but the emotions I felt at that time can't be compared to this time. They are just too strong. I think I will enjoy exploring these new emotions in my chest.

Anyway, let's get back at the goblins and the battle royale. Plenty of interesting things seems to happen while I was busy on the second floor. I inspected the footage of the fifth day. Ellie already told me about the previous days and her favorite goblin. She also mentioned that there were two interesting tribes she noticed early on.

The first thing I looked at was the number of deaths. Today, a total of 23.857 goblins died. It's a quite lot. There are only five more days left until the deadline for the battle royale. Things are seemingly getting... energetic. Every day I pump a lot of mana to the tower and whenever a monster dies almost all of the mana formed their body returns to the tower. Only a small part is being absorbed by whoever killed that monster. Energy circulation is still in its early phases and aside from creating monsters, maintaining those monsters also took quite a bit of mana. If I can find a reliable source of mana or any other energy, maybe things would be a bit easier.

I then inspected Renka's tribe. They set up ambushes on top of trees and attack any wandering goblins who come in their range. It's actually a good strategy. Since the scale of the battle royale is too big, creating ambushes on somewhat common forest tracks is letting them hunt a good number of goblins. They killed five thousand goblins today. Also, their tribe increased in number. They have a hundred and thirty-six goblins in their tribe now. They are recruiting wandering goblins into their tribe and rapidly increasing their numbers. They also have treehouses. They are cool, I like them.

I also looked at the Gienba's tribe. They are like Vikings from my old world. They raid the close tribes to them and massacre all of them. They are also excellent craftsmen and they are able to even make their own weapons and some basic armor from the metals Ellie placed all over the forest. Ellie placed loot chests all over the forest to make things progress quicker. It was a wonderful idea. I'm glad that I told her about the games in my old world.

Gienba's tribe killed a total of 8.924 goblins today. Both this tribe and the Renka's is getting stronger and more powerful compared to ordinary goblins. They are indeed close to evolution. It is wonderful. We can have some evolved species and I can inspect their genetic codes and perhaps create some more evolved species of the goblin race.

The rest of the goblins are killed off by other tribes. There is also a tribe being formed by wandering goblins. It is indeed an interesting concept. Maybe the one who formed that tribe could evolve into an individual who can control or attract others in its surroundings. Things are going really well.
