My System was Muted!

In a realm where folks wielded unique "Goldfingers," fonts of magical prowess, Lucas Evercrest remained blissfully unaware of his own exceptional potential. Little did he fathom that he harbored this incredible power deep within, an untapped wellspring. While others soared to grand heights, Lucas inadvertently subdued his Goldfinger, leaving him stranded at the humbling level 1, watching as his peers flourished. One fateful night, enveloped in the haze of sleep deprivation, our unsuspecting protagonist's world shifted. Battling to embrace slumber's embrace, he carelessly brushed against the "Mute Notifications" icon on his Goldfinger's interface before drifting into dreams' embrace. Seasons swept by like leaves on the wind, and there he stood, drowning sorrows in whiskey's amber embrace and endless loaves of bread, mourning an elusive system he believed had passed him by. Amid the din of a bar, laughter rippled like an unsteady melody. Echoes of "Status Open" danced in the air, chanted by playful kids, each repetition a chorus of mockery. Weariness pressed his head against the bar's cool surface, a failed shield against the jeers and japes. "Status Open, Status Open, Status Open," he muttered, lips grazing the wood, words coated in a blend of irony and irritation. And then, as if summoned by this weary incantation, a radiant cerulean window materialized before him. Within its luminescence, Lucas Evercrest's identity flickered, inscribed alongside his meager statistics: "[Lucas Evercrest], [Level 1 [^], Job: Starter], [HP: 1220, MP: 123], [Str:84, Agi:93, Int:43, Ins:23, Wis:53, Def:32, Sta:45, Dex:32, Con: 122]." Details unfurled like a tapestry, revealing a mosaic of attributes. His handiwork, etched in the fabric of his being, began to come to light. The window whispered of abilities and names, secrets shrouded in cryptic notation: "[Abilities: Open to show more.], [Titles: Open to show more.]" Yet even amidst this revelation, a sobering truth lingered – his status, labeled "Intoxicated," stood as a stark reminder of his present condition. Experience, captured within the confines of "EXP: 100/100," hinted at untapped potential, awaiting the spark of realization. An "Inventory" beckoned, promising more to explore, yet the ever-watchful "Missed Notifications" count of "99+" bore the mark of silence, a testament to a bygone era when his Goldfinger's voice remained muted. And so, in the quiet hum of the bar, amidst the ebb and flow of laughter and life, Lucas Evercrest's journey unfurled anew. The forgotten Goldfinger, once stifled by his own inadvertence, stood poised to rewrite his destiny, as he grasped the reigns of his dormant power, eager to ascend beyond the confines of level 1 and embrace the legacy that had patiently awaited his awakening. *This synopsis was written by someone else who wishes to remain Anonymous, thank you to who did it.* *Title is pending for the cover.*

Can I be a Magician? (3)

~~City of Asgard, Drunk Whale Inn~~

"Hey, Andrew! I'm taking my break, cover for me will ya?" Daher shouted out before bowing slightly. As Daher led Lucas out of the inn, the energy in it slowly began to rise as people started talking about what happened.

The inn was sparked with a new life, as people from outside went inside to hear the drama, increasing business and sales. And just the mood of the town overall increased that day.

"Did... Did you know?" Lucas asked, quite taken aback by his previous response. "Didn't you find your growth strange? Even a genius wouldn't grow that quickly... But it's not all bad." Daher replied, consoling the man.

"You get to start from scratch, and you won't go in with a beginner's stupidity, you probably have a bunch of skill and stat points saved up." Daher took a long pause giving Lucas time to absorb the situation.

"Hey, maybe you accidentally unlocked something new. The fact you never used any skills always terrified me, you were still quite effective." Daher laughed and was quite cheery before patting Lucas's shoulder.

"But now, you can be twice as effective and defeat those adventurers gloating before, isn't that nice?" Daher gripped his shoulder tighter before slapping him on the back and standing up.

"Get some rest alright, don't want the top-grossing adventurer of Asgard to lose a fight due to lack of sleep, and hey it'll help you understand the situation." Daher slipped Lucas a small blue coin called "Pil" which is worth 10 Gal into his back pocket. "Good luck, and remember that I will always be with you."

Daher got up and left, leaving Lucas to think it over by himself while staring at the blue screen displaying him. "A fresh start, huh? I wonder what this can do."

Daher ran back while yelling "WAIT I FORGOT TO TELL YOU! FIRST YOU NEED TO LEVEL UP! God how did I forget the most important thing, you don't know anything!" Daher leaned on Lucas's shoulder while panting slightly, getting used to suddenly breaking out in a sprint.

"Alright, follow me. I'll teach you everything you need to know about your system." Daher got up and straightened his pose, placing his hands on his hips and forcing his back to be straight.

Lucas slowly stood up, still not believing this was real. "So how does this work? The heck IS a system?" Daher just kind of shook his head while replying "Hey, don't question a gift from the gods, you want to be cursed or something?" Daher placed his arms behind his head and just walked along the path. "Come on."

Lucas scampered towards Daher and then gently mellowed to a regular walking speed. "So it all starts with you leveling up, you see your level? If you think about leveling up and you have enough experience, you will. You gain 5 stat points per level up and every 2 levels will gain skill points equal to your insight."

"And no you can't raise your insight with stat points. Also, stats are distributed like this, if you have around 100 points it's as if a person trained their entire life for it. And if a person has more than 130 then that stat is superhuman."

"There are three types of abilities, leveling, evolving, and final. Leveling abilities grow alongside you and when maxed can lead to a better ability, Evolving abilities require specific knowledge or deeds done to turn a skill into a better one. Final Abilities are the pinnacle, if anyone surpasses a final ability they will gain recognition from the gods."

"Speaking of abilities, every Title, Ability, and item has a rating, which determines how hard it was to get, how strong its effects are, or what its origins are. It goes from Common to Mythical."

"You can open up the ability shop, or the stat shop by simply thinking or saying it out loud. You can interact with a system panel through the thought of an action or physically doing it. Any questions?"

"What's the inventory?" Lucas asked curiously. Daher answered quite easily, "Inventory? It's somewhere you store and view over items. Just think of putting away or equipping an item and it will either go in or come out of the inventory."

A dagger appeared in Daher's hand then quickly disappeared before summoning a sword. "Oops, you weren't... supposed to see that. *AHEM* ANYWAYS!" Daher quickly changed topics so as not to call attention to his mistake.

"Anyway, I believe you can figure out the rest by yourself, it's pretty self-explanatory, if you ever want to view a skill, item, or title in detail just think about learning about it." Daher began walking away "I'll try this again, good luck."

"Alright, Daher... Thank you." "Thank you..." Lucas just held his hands together and laid back on the grassy field. "Skill Shop, was it?"

[Ability Shop: Please search for an effect to search for skills.]

"Search for an effect? Hmm... What should I search for? Maybe... Search for Magic."

[Ability Shop: Filter; Magic. Showing results.]

[Available skills for purchase with your current and previous classes: <Mana Perception>, <Magic Tolerance>, <Elemental Tolerance>, <Status Tolerance>, <Magic Up>, <Magic Attack Up>, <Search >, <Mana Regeneration Up>, you may also search for Beginner Spells]

"Just these? Hmm. I wonder... Show me information about <Magic Tolerance>, <Elemental Tolerance>, and <Status Tolerance>" Lucas scratched his chin.

[<Magic Tolerance>, Rare Ability, Levels up. Provides tolerance against unattributed magic attacks. (120)]

[<Elemental Tolerance>, Legendary Ability, Levels up. Provides tolerance against the elements and elemental magic attacks. (300)]

[<Status Tolerance>, Legendary Ability, Levels up. Provides tolerance against abnormal statuses. (300)]

"So... Based on my current abilities, I'm assuming that it goes from Tolerance to Resistance, and possibly things after that... And it appears some skills just buff your stats, is it temporary or permanent?" Lucas leaped from his lying position to thrust himself into a sitting position.

"How many points do I have?" Lucas enquired curiously, maybe it was a lot he thought.

[Filtering Status]

[ Name: Lucas "Giant" Evercrest

Level: 200 {Class can be changed}

Stat Points: 995

Skill Points: 2277 ]

"The hell? This level could turn me into a B-Rank Adventurer! This is busted! No damn wonder I couldn't beat those adventurers..." Lucas was surprised but also quite pissed, he stood up and started pacing.

"Wait... If all kinds of skills exist. What jobs can I change into currently?" Lucas asked not expecting an answer.

[Based on current Abilities, Stats, and Titles, you can change into 4 classes. <God of Cooking's Disciple>, <Intermediate Starter>, <Wall of Flesh>, <One Eyed Jack>]

"The hell are these classes?! Wall of Flesh? God of Cooking??? What the hell is a One-Eyed Jack?" Lucas just sort of fell backwards exhausted physically and mentally.

[<One Eyed Jack> This Class lets you purchase all starter skills for every first class that you are qualified for, you may purchase the Mythical Skill <Wildcard >]

"The hell kind of cheat skill is this?! Wait, doesn't that mean I could theoretically learn magic? Lots of magic?! System show me the magic I can learn using One Eyed Jack!" Lucas shouted enthusiastically.

[You are unable to learn any new magic spells if you take the class <One Eyed Jack> you are not currently qualified for any spell classes.]

Lucas began hitting the back of his head against the grass over and over. "Damnit, why not! I just want to learn magic!"

"Wait... WAIT. WAIT WAIT WAIT. System open the stat shop! I have a plan, I'm such a genius HAHAHA!"

[Opening Stat Shop.]

Strength: 84 | Intelligence: 43

Defense: 43 | Wisdom: 53

Agility: 93 | Constitution: 122

Stamina: 45 | Dexterity: 32

You may think of purchasing an amount of stats and either confirm or deny it to purchase it.]

"What if I..."

[Proposed Stats

Strength: 84 -> 100 | Intelligence: 43 -> 100

Defense: 43 - > 100 | Wisdom: 53 - > 100

Agility: 93 - > 100 | Constitution: 122

Stamina: 45 - > 100 | Dexterity: 32 - > 100

The remaining Stat Points will be 667.]

[This action will unlock 172 new classes.]

"CONFIRM! CONFIRM! CONFIRM! HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA I'm such a genius!" Lucas began laughing loudly and patting himself on the back physically and verbally. "No one else would've thought about this!"

Sadly for him, this is one of the requirements to become a B-Ranked Adventurer. An A-Ranked Adventurer requires you to complete your second class change.

"Change Class to <One Eyed Jack>!" Lucas just kept pumping his fists into the air and acting like a complete child.

[Are you sure you wish to change your class to <One Eyed Jack> you may not change your class afterward until your next class change.]

"Wait, maybe not... I could specialize in something, maybe try something new." Lucas began rubbing his head just pondering what to do. "I could always become a magician, or I could hone my swordsmanship further... Wait! System can you show me the requirements to become a Magic Swordsman!?"

[Showing requirements to unlock the <Magic Swordsman> class. <Magic Swordsman> requires you to choose <Warrior >, <Swordsman >, <Elementalist >, or <Magician > for your first class change.]

"Hahahahahaha! HAHAHAHA I GOT IT! I CHOOSE THIS ONE!" Lucas continued laughing heartily as all of the system windows started closing, "THIS, AND THIS, AND THIS! YES THIS IS PERFECT!"

To an outsider, it would seem like there was a crazy person on top of a hill, but to Lucas, he thought of himself as a complete genius as he praised himself out loud.

FUNNY CLIFFHANGER

Anyways I didn't go into depth of his skills and titles currently as I'd like to keep them secret for one more chapter.
