Adapting (Arc 4)

During these two weeks, Feng Yongrui had also spent a significant amount of time with Dobbin and Emma. The former was a annoying, and the latter was sweet. Of course, whenever Feng Yongrui was in the kitchen with Emma, he would have plenty of tidbits, snacks, and fruits to eat.

Feng Yongrui had also clarified his identity to Emma, who looked at him in pity when he told her that he was Igino's successor.

"Aye, dearie, you're such a sweet child. How could he do this to you?" She had said.

Of course, Feng Yongrui had no idea what she meant, and he didn't pry further either.

During this time, Feng Yongrui had also made three friends. The first one was a gloomy fourteen year old named Jasper. Feng Yongrui's first impression of this guy was mysterious.

Jasper had been staying in the Enigma Guild for some time now, he wasn't one of the newest recruits in the guild. However, when Feng Yongrui asked him how he entered the guild, he was evasive and did not answer.

The second person that he made friends with was a girl named Fanny. She was the same age as him, or probably younger. It was hard to say, because Fanny didn't know her own age. She was an orphan and had been roaming the streets for some time, and she had just recently joined the Enigma Guild.

The last person was a kid named Jeronimo. He was two years younger than Feng Yongrui, and he was really cute. But of course, no matter how cute he was in private, Feng Yongrui could see that he was actually a fierce person as well. After all, he used to be part of a gang before he joined the Enigma Guild...

Apart from making friends and getting to know the people around him, Feng Yongrui had also discovered something important. He was still able to do his Daily Missions!

However, there was a slight difference. In the previous worlds, whether Feng Yongrui did the Daily Missions or not was completely up to him. If he felt like the Daily Missions were too absurd, he would just choose not to do it at all.

Now, though, the Daily Missions that appeared in his head were compulsory. Same as before, there were three types of Daily Missions, the easy ones, medium ones, and the hard ones.

Usually, Feng Yongrui would only do the easy ones. Occasionally, only if the medium missions were pretty good, then he would do it as well... As for the hard ones, Feng Yongrui generally avoided them.

But now, the easy and medium missions were compulsory, and the reward for completing one mission was ten points instead of five. This meant that if he completed both tasks, he would get 20 points.

The Daily Missions were still as ridiculous as ever, so during these two weeks, Feng Yongrui had gained a reputation of being rather stupid. A few kids were even whispering about him behind his back and calling him an idiot with pits and holes in his brain.

Feng Yongrui didn't really care. What did those people know? He was doing this for the sake of points! Precious points!!

During these two weeks, Igino Wolf had also been paying attention to the newest successor that he chose. This kid was unexpectedly interesting -- he always managed to do something weird every day.

It was very entertaining, and Igino was pleased.

Back to the present, Feng Yongrui had no idea that his "Boss" was pleased with his entertaining fiascos. Instead, he was lying on the ground and looking at the information in his head.

He had just finished his physical training with Carl, and he was using his break time to sort through the information and plan his next steps.

Currently, the crown prince of this world, or, in other words, the male lead (ML), was eleven years old. As for Cinderella, the female lead (FL), she was still ten years old. Several days ago he managed to chat with the System/mouse, and it told him that it was currently living with Cinderella.

Feng Yongrui and the System had already talked about it. They had no idea what this world could be like and there were too many variables and possibilities. The prince in this world was a BUG, but what if this BUG prince did something wrong, and because of some butterfly effect, the FL became a BUG as well??

By that time, if there were two BUGS flying around the world and wreaking havoc, Feng Yongrui felt like he could not longer complete his mission.

No, wait, even if there was only one BUG, he didn't have the confidence to finish this mission.

In any case, Feng Yongrui and the System had come to an agreement. The System would watch over the situation from Cinderella's side and make sure she stayed true to her role.

Feng Yongrui took a deep breath and wanted to read the information again, but he realized that it was almost time for his next class.

Feng Yongrui stood up and put away the information. For now, he had to focus on his training.

Night fell, and darkness enveloped the guild's headquarters. Today was a special day, so Feng Yongrui had dinner earlier than usual and retreated to his room, saying that he wanted to be alone for a while.

Once he entered his room, Feng Yongrui shut the door tightly and took a deep breath. Instead of heading to the bathroom to take a bath, Feng Yongrui activated his Invisibility Skill.

Thankfully, there was a window in this room, so Feng Yongrui opened the window and jumped out of the building. Since he was invisible, Feng Yongrui knew that no one could see him.

However, he couldn't help jumping and wincing a little when he saw someone walking closer to him...

The situation was actually like this. Early in the morning, the system had informed him that the crown prince, Rufus, would be sneaking out of the palace at night. At that time, the crown prince wouldn't be accompanied by guards and servants, so Feng Yongrui could meet him without any worries.

The system had given him two options, he could either "observe the crown prince in secret" or "get closer to him". Feng Yongrui chose the second choice without hesitation.

After all, he wanted to know what the crown prince was like... And, didn't they say, "know yourself, know your enemy"?

If he was going to deal with this BUG prince, Feng Yongrui knew that he had to first understand the person and his thinking way.

Feng Yongrui had left the guild's headquarters and he was currently walking in the middle of a street. Since it was nighttime, the alleys looked dangerously dark as the lamps flickered several times.

As he walked, Feng Yongrui realized that there was no shadow underneath his feet.

Well, he was invisible after all.

When Feng Yongrui reached a fork in the road, he looked at the system's map -- he had to go to the right -- so he picked the right lane and followed the directions from the system's map.

After walking for about five minutes, Feng Yongrui stopped in front of a small shop. The shop was obviously closed, but with the sparse lighting, Feng Yongrui could still read the sign in front of the shop.

It was a shoe shop.

The system's directions ended here, so Feng Yongrui stood still and waited for the crown prince to appear. While he stood there, motionless, Feng Yongrui pondered deeply about his next steps.

How should he treat the crown prince? Should he say hi, and act like a normal kid? But... this prince was a BUG... what if he saw through him and avoided Feng Yongrui?

Feng Yongrui's head was still churning with ideas and various scenarios when he heard a familiar "Ding~".
