Rethinking death
Her heart dropped at the statement. When the system had told her that there was a possibility of her getting sent away, this was not what she had imagined. Only a few hours ago had she literally pushed the general into the sewage canal. And now she had to go work in his mansion? That was like walking straight into a death trap. Even hell sounded better than going to the man's place.
"She's so lucky!"
"I'm jealous!"
"How I wish I were her!"
She heard many voices echo. The crowd gathered around her room was getting thicker by the minute as the minor god walked away towards the direction of her office. Beth wanted to run behind the woman and scream for help. She was willing to admit the truth about herself and die under the cold woman's sword right now- anything to avoid meeting the god for a second time.
