The next day ...

Kevin was busy stuffing his files into his bag when Noah suddenly rushed into his room.

"Vin, it's bad!"

"Not usually you sneak into my room. Don't you always knock on the door first?"

"No time! There are more important matters." Noah spoke nonchalantly, as if he was in a hurry, making Kevin look confused at his best friend.

"What's the problem?" Kevin asked, so curious.

"Bandung branch office just called me, they said there was one of our investors who claimed to be cheated and the money was taken away by one of our employees."

"What?!" Kevin was surprised, because his company is not usually this careless.

Especially when it comes to money matters, Noah can't possibly let that happen.

"Well that's the problem. I don't really know what the story is, so I'm going straight there. Can you come with me?"

"Now?" Kevin asked.

"No, next year! Actually now!" Noah replied, making Kevin change his expression to a confused one.

Oh, how is this? Even though Kevin deliberately worked overtime all night at the office because he wanted to accompany Mila today.

"Why? Do you have any other important schedule?"

He wanted to say yes, but...

"You really have to give me trouble at a crucial time like this?!" Kevin feels like he's going to be emotional, but so what?

"I also don't want to have problems like this, this time, Vin. If you can't, then just let me take care of it," said Noah.

He was a little annoyed with what Kevin said earlier because it was as if he was saying that Noah was deliberately giving him trouble like this.

"Not like that. But... Ah well, it's hard to explain. Okay, I'll go with you, but wait a minute. I'm going downstairs for a bit."

Kevin walked right past Noah after that, causing Noah to scream, "Why are you doing downstairs? I'm already here!"

Yes. So one floor below Kevin is Noah's room, the floor of the team that takes care of management issues such as HR or Finance issues, which is directly handled by Noah.

And usually Kevin goes to that floor just to meet Noah, nothing else.

Out of curiosity, Noah finally followed Kevin's steps. And he managed to be surprised when Kevin actually pulled one of his subordinates, who Noah knew his name was Vega.

"Sir, where are you going? Sir?" Vega was surprised when Kevin suddenly pulled her away from her room. Makes a lot of people speculate on their interactions.

Because Kevin doesn't usually deal with his employees, even though Vega's level is at the level of a manager.

Usually Kevin only deals with directors like Noah.

"Can I ask you to go to the hospital now?" Kevin asked. While Vega was confused. "To the hospital? Who is sick, Sir?"

"You don't have to call me sir, just call as usual. It's just the two of us here." Kevin said, making Vega turn her head to the right and left.

That is true. There were only them in this relaxing room.

"Okay, who's sick, Bro?"

"Today, Mila's mother had surgery but I couldn't accompany her because there was an important problem at the branch office."

"Oh, the problem with investors who feel cheated, isn't it?"

"Vega, please! Why are you even talking about work? I bring you here to ask for help so you can accompany Mila."

"Hang on. Whose Mila are you talking about?"

Kevin snorted, at this crucial moment, Vega might even fail to understand.

"Use the amnesia show again, gosh! Mila is your best friend from High School, Vega! Adrielle Carmila Oswald."

And that's when Vega realized what Kevin meant. "WHAAAT?? You're not kidding are you? Mila's mother was admitted to the hospital and had surgery today? Why wasn't I notified?"

"That's why I'm telling you now!" Kevin became annoyed by himself seeing Vega.

Fortunately Vega is the son of his father's best friend, fortunately Kevin has considered Vega like his own sister, otherwise Kevin would have knocked Vega over the head earlier.

"You're just going to the hospital with your other best friend, what's her name?"

"Paul?"

"Yeah, Paul! I can't accompany Mila, because I have to go to Bandung now. Later, the problem about you and Paul's permission, I'll take care of it."

After saying that, Kevin immediately walked away before Vega managed to hold him first, "Wait!"

"What else?"

"How do you know if Mila's mother had surgery?"

Kevin snorted again. "It doesn't matter how I know. The important thing is that you hurry to the hospital, I hope you can do that, okay? I've been waiting for Noah too. Alright, I'll go first!"

And Kevin actually walked away after that, causing Vega to scream. "THAT'S IMPORTANT TO ME! HOW YOU KNOW???"

And no matter how hard Vega screams, it's useless, because Kevin has disappeared from her sight.

Mila was shocked when she saw that her two best friends were in the hospital where her mother was being treated.

How do they know? Even though Mila deliberately didn't tell them because she didn't want to be a bother.

"Oh really! Why didn't you tell us if Aunt Daisy went to the hospital?" said Vega.

"Yes, right. You really think we're not your friends, don't you? When we have problems like this, we know it from other people!" Then this is Paul's turn.

"I'm sorry for that, I just don't want to bother anyone. But how do you know?"

"Ah yes, about that. How do you know, Vega?" Paul had also wondered about that earlier, but she hadn't had time to ask. She was more busy worrying about Mila during the trip.

"I know from..." Vega stuttered, unsure whether she should answer it from Kevin. Because she still hasn't got an answer from where Kevin knows about Mila.

Could Kevin be stalking Mila again like before?

"A friend of mine saw you in this hospital, and he told me." The answer didn't make sense, and Mila knew it. But Mila prefers to remain silent, because she seems to know who Vega knows this from.

"Well, it doesn't matter. Now more importantly, how's Aunt Daisy? Have you started the operation yet?" Paul changed the subject, because she didn't want to bother about that either.

"Mom just entered the operating room ten minutes ago." Mila replied in a sad tone, causing Paul to immediately approach Mila and hug her best friend.

"You should have told us, Mila! You don't remember what our friendship agreement was? Must be open to each other no matter the conditions!" Paul emphasized the last line of his sentence, to make Mila realize her mistake.

Next, Vega also approached the two friends, and hugged them both.
