In the year 2097, humanity faced a new terror. Cities were destroyed by horrible monsters that came through the dimensional doors. To counter this new terror, humans began to awaken magical abilities and dove into the gates to destroy the oncoming waves of beasts. One student in particular became orphaned due to one of these dimensional doors. He was considered one of the weakest, and was bullied due to his inability protect himself. While being beaten up in an alley one day, the area went into chaos as a dimensional door opened, trapping him and others inside. He was face to face with death when a sudden beam of light came down. "Is this how I die?" the student thought. Waking up in a hospital later, his wounds were healed as if they were never there in the first place, and a strange screen was appearing in his vision... "Welcome to the Plunderer System" Follow Milo Fenix as he uses the system to fight back against his enemies; his weak old self, the beasts, even humans. Will he achieve his goal of becoming the strongest? Will he be able to overcome his past self as someone who was weak? Will he be able to protect the ones he cares about? Find out by reading My Plunderer System. . . . First ever time trying to write a novel so any feedback you have is greatly appreciated :) -Kowatch24
Once all the paperwork was signed and done, Corinna brought Milo a fresh set of clothes with a wolf's slash absent and allowed him to change before they started heading home. When on the way Milo began testing his newfound power more. He passed many different people. The first thing he did was test to see how his ability to see awakened abilities worked. He was relieved to find out that when wanting to read an awakened ability all he had to do was think about the ability itself and a sort of symbol would appear over people's heads.
Over Krista's head a green symbol appeared, Milo deduced that the green symbol meant he could copy the ability already, the next color appeared to be orange, when looking deeper it seemed that the orange meant that he had not cleared the learning condition set forth by the system. The last one that seemed curious only appeared over some children Milo passed in the lobby, it was white in color, and when selecting one a screen popped up that read:
[Notice]
Latent Ability Detected: Transformation
(unable to learn until fully awakened)
[clear]
Based on what was read, Milo was flabbergasted, he could see what ability people would awaken with when they awakened. This was something that was a popular scam with where society was currently, with awakened abilities being a powerful source of income through becoming a professional gate crasher, an awakened who gets sent to dimensional doorways to close them. But unlike the scammers, Milo could accurately tell people what their ability would be.
Once he investigated his ability to look at other people's abilities, he decided to wait until they got back to their apartment before deciding to test the plunder ability itself, just in case anything weird happened. Once they walked through the door he grabbed Krista's arm and dragged her up to his room. Corinna thought nothing of it, but Krista's face was bright red the minute Milo grabbed her arm. Once they got up to his room, he closed the door and said,
"You aren't going to believe this, but I didn't tell you the whole story at the hospital."
"What do you mean?" asked Krista.
After explaining the whole situation with the pillar of light, and his new plunder ability, Krista was shocked, "Copying abilities? Are you sure you didn't hit your head while you were in that alley? I mean how would something like this even happen?"
Just like Milo was at first, Krista was hesitant and confused as to what Milo meant by the ability to copy other awakened abilities. Milo then went on to explain that at the moment, hers was the only ability he could copy as he had already met the condition, whatever the condition may be. After some more deliberating, Krita finally caved and told him that if that was the case that he should do it, copy her ability. Finally the time had come to test whether this power was truly as great as it sounded.
