My Plunderer System
In the year 2097, humanity faced a new terror. Cities were destroyed by horrible monsters that came through the dimensional doors. To counter this new terror, humans began to awaken magical abilities and dove into the gates to destroy the oncoming waves of beasts. One student in particular became orphaned due to one of these dimensional doors. He was considered one of the weakest, and was bullied due to his inability protect himself. While being beaten up in an alley one day, the area went into chaos as a dimensional door opened, trapping him and others inside. He was face to face with death when a sudden beam of light came down. "Is this how I die?" the student thought. Waking up in a hospital later, his wounds were healed as if they were never there in the first place, and a strange screen was appearing in his vision... Chapter 48 - Close Call
After the lesson on the different armor ratings was over, the X ranked class moved onto combat training, when the class arrived, Mikael informed them that today was a self-led training day and that the students could spread out and practice their weapons as they see fit. Milo found some space and pulled out his chain sickle. It had been a while since he had practiced due to him focusing on practicing his ability with the retest having happened this past weekend and he wanted to practice his use of Ice as much as possible. This led to him forgoing his morning practice sessions with the chain sickle in the weapons hall. Due to this, Milo chose a dummy in a secluded corner of the room.
Once Milo began to practice, he was so tied up in his training, he failed to notice the revenge plot being unfolded behind him. The student Milo had angered earlier by interrupting his answer in class, was a wind user from a rich family, due to his family background, they poured a ton of money into raising him to be powerful at a young age. He was considered a genius among first years, and because he had trained his ability so high, he was able to control wind very accurately. His weapon of choice was a bow and arrow, this was due to his ability allowing him to change the direction of his arrows using his control of different wind currents.
When Milo was turned away practicing his chain and sickle techniques, one of his arrows changed directions suddenly, and was aimed and heading straight for Milo's shoulder.
"Schwing," Milo heard a slash through the air behind him, just inches away from his right shoulder and turned as two equal pieces of the arrow fell to the ground. Once analyzing what had happened, Milo saw the arrow cut in half on the ground and Mikael standing next to him with his sword drawn.
After seeing Mikael cut the arrow down before it reached its target, the student knew he needed to act like this was an accident or else he would get in trouble.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry are you ok?" the student asked as he approached Milo.
After years of dealing with bullies, Milo knew this student had aimed for him on purpose, and a second later, Milo recognized the student as the one he had interrupted in class. After realizing that the student was acting to not get in trouble, Milo took a step forward intending to teach the bully a lesson. That was until Mikael grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him off to the side.
"I understand your anger. Whether it was on purpose or an accident, attacking him now will only get you in more trouble. You will have a chance to settle this score, just be patient," he said.
After taking a deep breath, Milo settled his anger and did as Mikael said. The other student just chuckled to himself and was happy that Milo was unable to do anything in response to his attack. Little did he know, this was a discretion Milo would not forget.
After the attack from the wind ability student, Milo was able to continue his training in peace, as Mikael was now eyeing the student who had attacked Milo. That was when Milo noticed the student he had bumped into yesterday on his own practicing in the corner. When seeing the student's ability, Milo knew he had to try and plunder it.
