In the year 2097, humanity faced a new terror. Cities were destroyed by horrible monsters that came through the dimensional doors. To counter this new terror, humans began to awaken magical abilities and dove into the gates to destroy the oncoming waves of beasts. One student in particular became orphaned due to one of these dimensional doors. He was considered one of the weakest, and was bullied due to his inability protect himself. While being beaten up in an alley one day, the area went into chaos as a dimensional door opened, trapping him and others inside. He was face to face with death when a sudden beam of light came down. "Is this how I die?" the student thought. Waking up in a hospital later, his wounds were healed as if they were never there in the first place, and a strange screen was appearing in his vision... "Welcome to the Plunderer System" Follow Milo Fenix as he uses the system to fight back against his enemies; his weak old self, the beasts, even humans. Will he achieve his goal of becoming the strongest? Will he be able to overcome his past self as someone who was weak? Will he be able to protect the ones he cares about? Find out by reading My Plunderer System. . . . First ever time trying to write a novel so any feedback you have is greatly appreciated :) -Kowatch24
Milo's usual morning routine since school had started was to wake up early and do his daily mission before his roommates woke up and because of this he woke up early ready to do his morning workout. He had finished changing into clothes to workout in, only for some reason a new screen had popped up instead of the daily mission.
[Daily Mission]
Prepare for Power:
The body has reached its peak after consistent training
Daily mission: Prepare for Power will no longer generate
[clear]
Reading this, Milo grew upset, now he could no longer grow his stats unless leveling up or through other means. The only silver lining was that now Milo could use his morning workout time to do other things. He chose to use this extra hour as a time to practice his chain sickle techniques.
Making his way to the weapons hall, Milo took in the view of the school during sunrise, the view of the buildings all being cast in the orange glow of the rising sun was a sight he grew to love while living in New York City. The biggest difference here was how silent the acropolis was in comparison to New York. There was a reason it was called the city that never sleeps.
After taking in the view a bit, Milo continued on to the weapons hall, and when opening the door was surprised to see Mikael holding his sword. In front of him was a training dummy that was cut to shreds. Thanks to technology discovered following the dimensional doors appearance, the dummies had a sort of regenerative function otherwise the school would spend tons on training dummies alone.
"Hi Mikael, would it be okay if I practiced a bit?" Milo asked when seeing his teacher.
Surprised to see a student awake so early, Mikael sheathed his weapon, and pressed the regen button on the dummy he had butchered, causing it to be put together right in front of their eyes.
"Feel free, it feels good as an instructor seeing a student who wants to improve even more."
Milo then went up to the wall and fetched his chain sickle he had been training with before making his way over to the dummy. After watching the intermediate technique tutorial, Milo wanted to try some of what was covered in the video. The intermediate techniques focused more on using the chain defensively and controlling the attack of your opponent. The main parts of the techniques involved something similar to what Milo had used the chains for in his sparring match.
The main technique he wanted to learn involved wrapping the opponent in the chain and because of the sickle on the end, it would dig into the opponent causing them to become trapped.
Seeing Milo attempt to use this technique, intrigued Mikael. He could tell that Milo had just started learning how to use the chain sickle, so why was he so aware of the different possibilities for attacking and defending? Mikael was curious about the student's background and would have to look into it when given a chance. His speed of growth was something Mikael had never seen before.
After training for awhile, Milo thanked Mikael for everything, and was about to leave the room before Mikael called him over.
After thinking about it for a while, Mikael had made a decision in order to help Milo's strength blossom even more. "I want you to hold onto the chain sickle. You are the only student who uses them and along with this, you are the first student in years who has decided to train them so diligently. Take them with you and you are welcome to train here at the weapons hall whenever you'd like."
Milo was happy hearing this, now he could practice even more and even look into ways he could improve the weapon to make it his own.
