My Other Self is a Strong Warrior

Hoshi Carmen Takada-Santos, better known as Hoshi Santos, might seem to be an ordinary biracial high school student living in Nara City, Japan, but his other self, the serious, strong, and cold Kuro, is a strong warrior who wields a scythe as his weapon. It’s been 4 years since his father, a Filipino shaman named Louis Santos, had died after banishing an evil entity, only known as Master Black Blood, into the underworld for his atrocities, Hoshi had to hide and conceal Kuro from anyone for his safety. But, Master Black Blood’s son, Master Demon Blood, would do anything to avenge for his father’s banishment from the overworld, and this also means killing Hoshi. This demonic entity also employs the help of Sha Sakiyama, a mercenary and expert on the use of shadow, to get rid of Hoshi. But, Hoshi isn’t alone in fighting the evil forces. His classmate, a reclusive and introverted ninja named Bokuto Sakata, decided to help him out because his father was a close acquaintance of Louis, and a girl named Saki Mizoguchi, who was secretly a mage and had a long family lineage of the use of magic. Dive into the world of both magic and modernity as their quest against the evil supernatural forces begins to unravel.

Chapter 62 – Memory Lane with my old master

Sha's POV

We entered one of the halls of the museum, seeing its contents that tell us about the earthquake that struck this city way back in 1995. Hoshi and his group were amazed to see them and stopped at one presentation to another to see and observe the details of the disasters. Seeing them made me happy, and I walked over to one of them alone.

As I looked at it, my memories of my fallen master and teacher, Louis Santos, started flooding in my mind. Those memories of me and him looking at the very presentation in this very museum years ago. I remembered how my fallen master had advised me that I should remember those who sacrificed during that disaster. Because of that, I felt a resurgence of my moral values thanks to his words of advice but still wanted to maintain a double agent image on both Hoshi and Master.

Third person POV

After some time, Sha moved on to another presentation in the hall while reminiscing on old memories with Louis. Hoshi and his group, meanwhile, are in another area in the hall examining a record of those who had died in the earthquake in 1995. They were astonished by the numbers. Taro was astonished that the earthquake had happened in the urban city, thinking that it caused a lot of deaths. Mariya agreed with him, saying that the area where it happened was urban, and no one was aware of it despite the early warning systems for it at that time.

All of them stayed in the museum and covered their exploration of the entire place. And then, at 10:46 a.m. the group exited the museum and went to their next stop in their visit to the city: the Sorakuen Garden. That place was located in central Kobe city. There they went on a nice stroll across the beautiful place after paying the small admission fee for each of them. The place was quiet and natural, making it a perfect place to escape from the busy life in the city. As the others were gazing at the body of water, Hoshi walked off somewhere near to take a deep breath under the trees of nature. He had felt a sense of peace flowing through him and within him, and Kuro also felt that as well.
