Chapter 51 – Someone was missing in the Kita District, Osaka city

Third person POV

Later, at 8:12 p.m., Hoshi, in his sleeping clothes, was in his room in the main house reading his newly purchased book. Kuro wants to manifest through him because he wants to read it, too. So, Hoshi allows him to do so. Now both of them are reading it. The Russian novel was a well-known one, and Hoshi liked its composition and plot. His friends and family, meanwhile, are doing their own thing. Taro was talking to his senpai on the phone; Saki was reading her spell book; Bokuto was meditating as a ninja; Mariya and Sha were stargazing in the main house's courtyard. Hoshi's grandparents, meanwhile, are playing their traditional Japanese instruments as a hobby. Despite their old age, both are still capable of playing those Japanese instruments. Paulo and Reo are playing a board game in their shared room while their mother and father are doing Japanese calligraphy as a hobby. The night seemed to be peaceful, away from the city's busy streets and markets.

But, there is one threat that they didn't notice at all. And no, that one will never intrude into their estate home. Rather, it will strike in the district of Kita in Osaka city. In that district, a young woman, with black, long hair and black eyes, was walking home from work due to a little night shift when suddenly, an unknown and elusive entity grabbed her and disappeared with her, leaving her purse behind on the sidewalk. Who was behind that abduction?

The next morning, after waking up, Hoshi went to the dining room, where the rest of his family and friends were eating a delicious and nutritious breakfast. "Morning…" he greeted as he yawned.

"Morning, grandson," replied his grandmother, who was making some matcha tea.

 "Good morning, dude," Bokuto added.

"Morning, brother!" Mariya happily added as she eats slurps her bowl of hot miso soup.

Hoshi then sat down next to Sha, who was eating a Japanese omelet and fried rice.

"Did you sleep well last night?" his aunt asked him.

Her husband was eating a Japanese omelet, too.

Grabbing a pair of chopsticks, Hoshi replied, "Yes, I did, aunt."

He then made a prayer gesture. "Thank you for the food."

After that, he gets some scrambled eggs and yellow Java fried rice, before eating them on his plate.

Taro and Saki are eating some simple beef noodles.

Paulo and Reo, meanwhile, prefer spicy seafood noodles almost every morning for breakfast.

Then, Mariya stopped eating and asked her younger brother if he wanted tea or coffee. "Coffee with creamer and sugar, please," Hoshi replied back while eating. Mariya then stood up and went to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee for him, using the Filipino way of making it. 2 minutes later, she served it to him. "Here you go."

The water is 50 percent hot and 50 percent cold, as Hoshi always preferred for his cup of coffee.

"Thanks." Hoshi grabbed it and took a sip, tasting the roasted flavor of the coffee beans coupled with the sweetness of the creamer and sugar.

Then, as all of them eat, the TV, which has been turned on since breakfast started, now broadcasts an incident that occurred in Osaka city's Kita district. According to the news, a young office woman, in her mid-30s, disappeared without a trace. What was left of her was her purse, which contained her personal belongings like her smartphone and credit cards. The police suspected that a stalker was behind it, while others speculated that a yakuza gang did it. However, since there are no traces of the victim's potential kidnappers, the case will be a lot harder than the police would handle.

Upon seeing and hearing that, Hoshi and his family and friends are a bit stunned. Hoshi's grandfather said that recently, two of his female employees never showed up for work for the past week. Because he had been in contact with the two employees' families, he theorized that they went missing after their families told him that they didn't go home.
