CHAPTER 1 : THE DEAL
Candy Wu was the dearest daughter of CEO Josh Wu. But she had trained to be discipline and independent woman since she was a child. Every morning she had to do some exercise like jogging or karate.
She decided to continue studying at university, since she likes to draw she wanted to study about Commnication & Visual Design, she had searched for scholarship in some universities abroad, finally she got one at USA. She studied for five years in there, and she continued to work and live there for two years later.
Then her father called her back one day, actually he wanted to trained her to inherit his company, but Candy didn't interested in the ship company. She went back that year but, she told him she didn't want to join his company. She had applied for works on some advertising company.
"Qian, can you go with me to the company tomorrow ?" asked Josh nicely to his daughter. He tried to persuade her to have a look at his office.
But Candy strictly objected him "No dad, I've told you I'm not interested working on your company, maybe you can ask Yi An someday."
Josh is still trying to persuade her "But you have nothing to do everyday ? Why don't you at least give it a try ?"
"I've applied jobs at some companies already dad, just give me some time, I'm sure I'll get one in this short time !" Candy still insisted.
Josh gave up finally "OK, Let's see in a week. If you can't have one, you must come with me to my company !"
Candy smiled and noded "OK dad." But deep down in her heart, she's very confident that she would be hired on one of those company that she had applied to.
Three days later Candy got interviewed at four companies, Candy was hired on two companies, G company was smaller than B company, but G company offered bigger salary than B company, she told her father about them.
Josh told her to choose G company though it was smaller than the other, he told her so base on his experience, he used to worked at small company for the first time too, but that company grew fast after for some time than the bigger one. So Candy followed his suggestion and decided to work on G company.
On the first month she back and forth from her home at the suburban to the downtown, it took quite a long time on the street, so she decided to stay in one of his dad's apartment in the central city, the apartment was near to her office.
She took one of the sports car with her, but she didn't take the car to her office, she went to the office by walk or by bus, because she didn't want to show off her social status. She was a humble girl, she just drove her own car for her personal needs.
On her first month in G company she got bullied by other worker, especially her supervisor, but she got used to it, she had been through the same experience when she was working for the first time before in USA.
So now she had some preparations for them, she could dodge them few times with the help of her new friend Kelly. She worked over time almost everyday there, because she wanted to adapt to the company faster, her supervisor gave her a lot of work to do even it was not necessary. But it had caught her boss attention.
One day Hanson asked his personnel manager who is she so diligently working over time everyday, Larry told him it was Candy the newbie from USA graduate. Hanson furrowed his eye brows, he said to himself "Seems like I've seen her before, but where ?"
Then Hanson asked Larry about her works so far. Larry took some of her design works to him, Hanson saw them a while, he was interested on her design, when he was about to go home he saw Candy still working on her desk..
Hanson walked to her desk and greeted her "Hi, I heard you are newbie here ? What's your name ?"
Candy turned her back and smiled to the unknown man, he is very tall with thick eyebrows and friendly eyes, she gently responding him "I'm Candy Wu, nice to meet you Mr.....?"
His friendly face enchanted her, he greeted her with friendly smile, he gave his hand to her "I'm Hanson Jang, nice to meet you !"
Candy shook his hand with a big smile all over her face but then her eyes widened and suprised "Hanson Jang ? Are you Mr. CEO ?" then she released his hand embarrassedly and pulled her hand immediately.
Hanson smiled seeing her shy look "Yeap..."
Candy bowed embarrassedly "Oo I see, I'm honour to meet you sir !"
She thought the CEO was a cold heart person, she never thought that he was a humble and friendly person.
"What are you doing here till late at night ? I saw you few times working here over time, can you show me your work ?" asked Hanson politely.
Candy woke up from her amazed and she took some of her designs and showed them to him "Ouw, I'm just doing some general designs to prepare for the incoming orders, so we won't spend time too long to design them from zero. Here you may see some of them."
Hanson took the papers and looked at them one by one "Hmm... interesting, I like your design ideas, you've made quite a lot of them ! Well, I think it's time for you to go home now !"
Candy casually answered him "I don't have anything to do at home and I like to work here."
Hanson laughed , he admired her passion "Hahaha... but it's late already, why don't you go home now ? Or do you want me to send you home ?"
"No, don't bother, I live nearby I can take a bus or just walk."Candy got shy, she knew she didn't deserve her big boss attention.
Hanson insisted to send her home, cause he wanted to know where she live "It's late now, come I take you home this time ! It's not safe for a girl to walk alone at this late !"
Candy finally gave up, she didn't want to argue with her boss "OK, only this time, but I don't wanna be seen by other workers, they'll bullied me later if they saw you with me together !"
Hanson reassured her "Don't worry it's late already, no one will see us together !"
They both went down to the parking lot, Hanson opened his passenger door for her, then he entered his driver seat and started the engine.
"Have you eat ?"
Candy nodded "Yes I've ordered some delivery food just now."
"Where do you live ?" asked Hanson.
" I live at Vue apartment few blocks from here."
Hanson glanced at her then he started to drive the car.
Candy wondered why did he glanced at me ? She asked him back "Where do you live ?"
Hanson answered her with smile"Same with you !"
Candy turned her head into him "Really ? Vue apartment ?"
Hanson nodded "Yes"
Candy began to curious more "What floor ?"
"It's 8th floor"
Candy turned her head back to him again with surprised look "OMG !"
Hanson was wondering ,"Why ? What floor are you ?"
"Same with you 8th floor !" she replied, her heart beat fast suddenly. She got nervous.
Hanson widened his eyes, he couldn't believe with what he just heard "Really ? Wow , It can't be such a coincident ! We must be destined to meet each other !" he heart was full with joy.
Candy's exciting now "Do you believe in coincident ?"
"Yeah sometimes !" Hanson was so excited, he thought an idea "How about we go to work together everyday since we live in the same neighborhood ?"
Candy thought it's a good idea, she don't have to go by bus again "Hmm, it's a good offer but I don't wanna seen by other workers coming together with you everyday, someone might get jealous ! How about you drop me off before our office building ?"
Hanson was so happy with her fast reply, he didn't expect she would agreed easily "Yeah don't worry !"
They took the lift after Hanson parked his car.
"We've already at 8th floor now, I'm at number 801. And you ?"
Candy giggled "Well, looks like your room is right in front of mine ! I'm at number 810 !"
There were not much unit on each floor, only 10 units.
"That's great ! We can get in touch easily then ! But I've never seen you here before ?"
"Yeah, I just moved here for a week. Sir, can you show me about our neighborhood here ? I don't know about the facilities around here too."
"Oh I see, don't worry I'll show you around this week end, just don't work too much over time will you ? I don't want my worker get sick ! It's good to have our room close to each other, we can help each other if needed." Hanson walked to his apartment door excitedly.
Candy replied him with big smile "Yeah you're right ! OK see you tomorrow." she waved him good bye.
"Bye,... see you tomorrow " Hanson waved good bye to her then he closed his door. There is slight a warm feeling inside him when he knew she live very close to his. He felt excitied and curious to know about her more. He tried to recall his memory about the girl he always longing for all these years. "Is it her ? She looked very familiar !"
Hanson and Candy started to go to the office together the next day. They went home together also, with adjusting to each other work time. He dropped and picked her at the same place, it's in front of the building beside theirs. So far no one in their office noticed them.
Hanson got ready with his sports wear that week end, he knocked on her door that morning "Are you ready for the jogging ?"
Candy opened the door for him and she was ready with her sports wear too including her running cap.
"Yes, where will you take me ?"
Hanson pointed with his hand to the park near their building "To the park near our apartment, it has nice rest area on the riverside."
Candy saw it from distance with squinted eyes "Looks interesting, let's go then !"
They enjoyed their jogging that morning and they took some rest on the riverside for a while. Hanson bought her an orange juice from the local people."What is your plan for today ?" He asked her while giving her a glass of orange juice.
Candy took the orange juice from him and sipped it "I must go back to my parents house on the week end"
Hanson a bit disappointed heard it, actually he was planning to have lunch together with her, to get to know her more.
"Oh OK, see you on Monday then !"
She nodded and they went back to the apartment.
Candy waved good bye to him when she entered her room "Thank you Mr. Jang ..... See you on Monday !" Hansen saw her leaving and watched her go till her door closed.
Candy went back to her home on week end as she promised to her parents.
Josh was seating in the living room when she came"So how is your work ?"
Candy answered him lightly "Nice, I like to work in there."
Josh smiled and nodded "Good then, I hope you'll have a nice working environment in there !"
Caren came from the kitchen with a plate of fruits, "But if you're too focus on your work you'll have no social life, so when will you get married ? I heard your cousin Yua will get married next year."
Candy got annoyed by her interruption, she frowned "Let Yua get married, don't worry about my life ! I still want to achieved something with my life mom."
Josh tried to neutralized the atmosphere "It's good that you want to achieve something in your life, but you're getting older dear, you have to marry someone someday too. How about this, I'll introduce you to one of my acquaintance's son, he is a nice young man and a good businessman ?"
Candy furrowed her eyebrows "Come on dad we're living in the modern world ! You don't have to arrange for my marriage life, I can find my man by myself someday ! Don't worry !"
Josh nodded, he looked through her sharply, and challenge her "OK, how about I'll give you six months, if you can't find one, then you must meet my acquaintance's son, how about it ?"
Candy didn't want to loose her pride, she confidently looked at him back "OK it's deal ! But don't tell me I should go home every week end ! How can I have my own social life ?"
Josh smiled "OK as you wish, you may go home whenever you want, it doesn't have to be on the week end."
"OK then, I'll go home anytime I want to" she promised.
