My New Life As A Zoldyck In HxH

*Reborn in HxH as Maha's sister with basically immortality.** In my first life, I was a CEO. I had experience with negotiations, remaining calm in frightening situations, and being completely emotionally detached. Yes, I know. Typical cliche backstory. But for me, that was my life. I had the average childhood - books, movies, anime, school, and studying. I spent middle school waisting my life away, reading manga, watching anime, reading romance, watching sitcoms... and then I realized how my life wouldn't get anywhere like this. I had always despised couch potatoes, and I was slowly turning into one. So I finished reading and watching my current favorite manga and anime, Hunter X Hunter, and started studying. It turned out, I was a prodigy. I had astonishingly accurate memory - I could remember things just by looking and hearing them once. I expanded my knowledge by a LOT, and after graduating, I started my company. Alas, after my company reached #1 in the world, my family died in a car crash, and my closest friends betrayed me... (yes, I know. My life story is so common that if this were a book, no one would feel an ounce of pity.) I grew detached from the world. There was no entertainment, just work, boredom, sleep, work, sleep, boredom, work.... An endless cycle. Hearing an assassin would come, I wrote a will giving away everything to my business partner. After writing the will, I willingly drank the most lethal poison (since the assassin apparently knew I had become immune to most poisons after taking a class from the weapons master) and died peacefully, hoping my next life would be a little more exciting... and that I would have more people to rely on. I opened my eyes, unsure if I would be met with Heaven or Hell's gates, and found myself... facing a white wall, with noise and energy surrounding me. I looked around cautiously before realizing I could barely move my head. The last thing I heard was the word "Zoldyck..." before I passed out.

Planning

After Toshiro created the Nen contract, binding himself to me for life - and I would ensure that life would be very long - we exchanged some information, and then I left.

I teleported out, making sure to leave a tracking device embedded with Nen on Toshiro so that I would be able to reach and find him when necessary.

We also gave each other our phone numbers so that we would be able to contact each other quickly - I gave him my non-personal one, since I didn't want him to accidentally let someone else know and spread it.

Only my family has my personal phone number - all my other contacts are in my "work phone."

Currently, I was back in my hotel room, planning.

I had gotten some more information from Toshiro - Haisha was the main owner and ruler of his drug business, but he had several underlings who helps with management and who dealt with the not as important stuff that Haisha didn't bother to deal with.

These underlings also had underlings, and the underlings of the underlings manager workers.

They had workers who dealt with the very basics such as processing, creating, shipping, disguising the drugs, etcetera.

These workers worked for a pay - only a few were forced to work there.

I have to get rid of the people at the top, then work my way down - I would leave Haisha for last, though, and let him struggle a little trying to save his business before bringing him to Toshiro.

First, I have to find information about Haisha's direct underlings.

Haisha has an office, but I doubt he is organized enough to have a list of details of his subordinates.

He does have online files with information, though - every business has a data base, even Underground ones.

However, Underground files are extremely encrypted - it takes a professional, knowledgeable, and talented hacker to be able to get through to most Underground files.

Luckily, I fit the bill.

Sitting down at my desk in the hotel room, I opened my space pocket and took out my main hacking computer.

I set it up, along with other devices I would need like a USB cable, a mouse, a separate storage as backup, etc.

Finally, I sat down and started working.

I leaned back in my chair - I was done with the first phase.

I had downloaded all the necessary files, storing information about everything I would need.

I had the lists of who to kill, who to take but keep alive (kid/adult-nap), who wasn't necessary in my plan, etc.

I had quite a few detailed notes, as well.

It would take me about a day to put my plans to action, and I set aside a day for Toshiro to do whatever he wants, so I have three days before returning to the Zoldyck estate.

I shifted in my chair, getting into a better position before getting back to work.

Finally, I finished all my information gathering.

I had detailed intel on every higher up and all their underlings, and I had a detailed schedule on the order, times, and method of killing each one of them.

The method wasn't exactly necessary or important, but since I'd devoted the entire day to planning and I had extra time, I decided to do be extra organized.

I had several back up plans and numerous disguises and alter identities so that I wouldn't be recognized or identified.

When I got serious, like now, I made sure nothing would go wrong - and even if something did, I was using many advanced technologies, as well as one of my Hatsus to alert me about it and take care of it.

The Hatsu was the one where I could communicate with animals - I'd ask some animal friends to alert me if anything would go wrong from their numerous bird-eye and sewer points of view.

I asked rats, mice, raccoons, hawks, birds - all kinds of animals that could potentially see anything going wrong.

I had several backup plans, and I'd imagined so many scenarios about what could go wrong that if any of them did happen, it wouldn't even cause a hitch in the plan.

Overall, I felt my plan was secure and it would be successful.

Of course, I was still taking every necessary precaution - arrogance and overconfidence could ruin my plans, and that was an amateur feeling.

It's not over until it's over, something every Zoldyck is taught as an important rule to never forget.

I checked my watch - it was 11 P.M.

I technically didn't need to go to bed, but since tomorrow would be a busy day with a lot of assassination and filled with physical exercise, I planned to get some sleep tonight.

I set my watch to vibrate at 4 A.M., just in case I didn't wake up.

If I slept in by accident - even if that's never happened before- it would throw all my plans off schedule, and I wasn't taking any chances.

I turned off all the lights and computer screens, made sure my En was activated and spread across my hotel room and the hallway outside of it.

Grandfather had insisted on me keeping my En up as much as possible to train it further, and I agreed with it - it was a good idea.

I made sure I would awaken if the door opened - I learned that if I had enough control over my Nen, I could be aware of what was going on in my En space even when unconscious, among other things.

I closed my eyes, breathed deeply, and gradually changed my body's alert state to a more calm, relaxed one.

I'd developed a technique to be able to fall asleep fast so that I wouldn't waste time by just lying in bed, and it allowed me to fall asleep in under 5 minutes.

As I adjusted my body to mimic how it would look if asleep, my brain believed it was asleep and slowly, I did fall asleep.

A/N:

I wasn't really sure what to write in this chapter, and yeah, it took a while… sorry about that…

This is a pretty boring chapter, since Mizuki was just planning, and it's pretty short, but I finally finished it.

I've got a general idea of how the next chapters will go, but I haven't got the details down - I'm making it up as I go.

If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to comment!

Thank you!
