Mu Feng

He was a child born from a mayor of a mid size city in the Lan Empire. He is the third child of the mayor

He was originally a talented child, having a fast cultivation speed and is considered a genius.

He was treasure of the Mu family, specially after the name of his fiancee is revealed

Lan Yue, the third princess of the Lan empire

A lot of people are understandably surprised hearing the news, that somehow a child from a mid sized backwater town manage to be betrothed to the third princess who is considered to be treasure of the Lan empire not only due to her beauty but also because of her incredible talent in cultivation

The reason for it is actually due to Lan Yue father Lan Guo promises with Mu Feng father Mu Gui

Both of them were part of the same sect, a

3rd class sect that is located in the Lan empire and is a subordinate sect of the Infinity Dragon sect when they were young and consider themselves as brothers, they enter the sect at the same time and develop brotherhood relationship.

They will always help each other no matter what, even if it is a life threatening situations, they won't hesitate to help each other.

One day after a particularly hard battle in a secret realm both of them were laying in the ground exhausted and wounded at various places in their body, this battle greatly increase the camaraderie between them, so after doing some small talk, they agree to tied their family through marriage

During this time, both of them finally became core members of the sect and inherit their respective families positions

Lan Guo becoming the crown prince and later emperor of the Lan Empire, the empire under protection of an infamous Celestial Emperor Lan Meigui

While Mu Gui became the mayor of his hometown territory, a mid sized city that is dime a dozen in the Lan empire.

And although their status is far apart they still maintain a good relationship with each other

And they still remember their promise of marrying their children

It only at Lan Yue and Mu Feng generation that the promise finally comes through

Both of them are not only good looking but also talented in cultivation, so both Lan Guo and Mu Gui think that they are suited for each other.

Unfortunately both of them have different opinions regarding this matter

Mu Feng is happy with the fact that he is betrothed to the famous treasure of the Lan royal family, he has heard of her beauty and her talent in cultivation

Now if only she have at least meet with said fiancee often and get to at least know each other or is already know each other since childhood she might not have protest much.

But all of that is in vain

He is not only feel very devastated but also angry

Even though she said that the reason she divorces him is not because of him being a cripple but because she prefers her to choose her own partner, he believes that it's completely lie and think she divorces him because he is now nothing but a cripple stuck at first floor of Qi Refining

So he refuse the compensation of their divorce and shout in anger

"Thirty years in Hedong, 30 years in Hexi, remember this Lan Yue, I will make you regret your choice!"

Lan Yue opinion on Mu Feng immediately drop after this and left the Mu family manor, but out of goodwill toward Mu Gui, he still left the compensation at the manor since only Mu Feng who doesn't want it, Mu Gui himself doesn't actually refuse it, but Mu Feng consider this as a way of her mocking him, and also left the manor in anger and went to the mountain to calm himself.

He was just walking on the mountain when suddenly the ring that have been given to him by his father suddenly shine and an ethereal voice of an old man can suddenly be heard in his head

"Hmmm how long has this old man in dormant young man?"

Then his life once again turn 180°
