Chapter 42: Tell Me Everything

I was right. Luna didn’t believe me.

“You’re joking.”

“I’m not! We are absolutely headed in their direction, right now.”

“AJ, you’re making that up. There’s no way you’re not making that up.”

I’d be first to admit that hardly made sense to me. So it made sense Luna would be skeptical, as well.

But, a little more faith might have been nice.

“Luna, for real. There is nothing in that direction. Absolutely nothing.”

“Exactly my point!” Luna said. It was easy to tell she was frustrated, but she was at least walking in the direction I had told her to. “I mean, if there’s nothing in this direction, doesn’t that mean we should head the other way?”

I shook my head. “Nope. I mean, there is seriously nothing. As in, a lack of anything. No trees, no animals. No nature. No activity, nothing. I can’t sense anything in this direction. It’s so suspiciously empty, Luna. This has to be it!”

Luna’s eyes narrowed. She was doing that a lot lately.
