Chapter 40: I'm Looking Forward To Being Friends Again

Luna didn’t say anything for a while, which was fine by me. I supposed I still deserved some silent treatment. Plus, from what I could sense of her, she was processing a lot. I had no idea what it was, but we had gotten pretty good at communicating. She still talked to me in images, but we had spent our lives around each other. Learning to put words to what she felt hadn’t been too hard to figure out.

But what she felt now was just a big bundle of emotional stuff. If Luna was a painting, right now her colors would all be swirled together, and sort of an ugly brown color.

I’d have apologized to her for the unflattering analogy, but she was genuinely occupied, to the point where she hadn’t even noticed what I had just said.

Speaking of, what was it that I had said?

No matter, something must have got to her. Out of respect I decided not to pry. I wondered if I might be able to help her work through it. But I didn’t like having my mind read, regardless of whether I shared it or not.
